If it's a standard car it will be about 82db, with all the mods on my car it's now 98db As standard it's a very quiet car.
-
Yup it's 2.5"

Had this bad boy fitted today, what a difference to the exhaust note, much more tuneful i.e.LOUD! I'll need to get it logged for Adrian so Cosworth can tweak the map, but the car feels even more responsive (but that could be the exhaust note fooling the seat of my pants). Looking forward to a shakedown with it next weekend. If you get to the Premier Inn before me, you should hear it from about 1/2 mile away!

Hey, that looks a bit like mine, but I didn't pay that for it.

So here I am trawling through t'interweb, looking at oil cooler kits and I'm a tad puzzled Why is a branded oil cooler kit for generic use half the price of their kit for a GT86? The difference seems to be mountings which don't seem to be much more than a couple of 90 degree brackets. Call me cynical (or anything you want), but if I can buy a generic kit for half the price of a GT86 version (same oil cooler, filter plate and hoses), why would I waste my money? Do they fink we is stoopid?
-
Smudge, it will be interesting to compare, are you going to Blyton next week?
-
Yup I'll put the car back on the rollers once the map is updated.
-
Nope it was nowhere near £1,700. I got it from a place in Dorset, I'll tell you more when you pop up for a butchers.
-
Checked behind the front grill last night, I can't see the radiator because there's this bleedin' great big thing with 'COSWORTH' written all over it in front of the radiator. Finding space to fit the oil cooler is going to be a challenge.
-
Not a problem! When it take the bumper off to fit, I'll take a full set of pictures complete with measurements.

Is alive and working quite well today http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/4367787568

The fun is that none of my tablets/phones/laptops are capable of getting anywhere near that speed due to the speed of the wifi adaptors, the most they can get is around 150Mbps, which is sooooo slow ;-) On a good day I might get around 320Mbps.

The 86 is going into Fensport next Friday to get the Cosworth Supercharger kit, Tein Street Flex kit, Avo exhaust and front and rear bushes done along with complete Geo setup. My mate who is a ride and handling specialist will be helping me to dial it in once I get it back. All being well we'll have worked out how to make it go fast enough by the time we get to TSS on 29th March at Snetterton.

It's a bit sad, I'm getting around 35mpg in normal driving. It's sad that I know this, the mpg is quite good.

GT86Jay's HKS Version 2 Supercharger Install / Mod Thread

Superb write-up Jay, get Adrian to sort the mapping out, then all we need is a side-by-side test at Eye aerodrome!- 88 replies

I've posted the RR results up on the thread about the Cosworth Stage 2 kit, I'm looking at a Japspeed header kit as a replacement to the std header to take the torque dip out. It's the one thing I didn't get around to when the whole shebang was being installed. But it's a like-for-like kit so it should be a straightforward job (famous last words).
-
Looking under the bonnet with the Stage 2 kit fitter, I very much doubt you could get another strut brace around or over the supercharger. But someone is bound to try.......
-
Surprisingly, not too bad James.

And more fun than you can shake a stick at!

I can get 220hp from the 1.4 engine in the Scirocco with just a Revo remap, it's bonkers, complex, but bonkers.
-
I know nothing about this, before Adrian went off to Oz he was still waiting to hear from Cosworth.

Anyone have experience of the Japspeed header?
