Lowering springs really don't seem to work well on these cars. I've heard nothing but bad things about eibach especially on this car. Surely if they are matched with shortened performance dampers they'd work better. The droplinks do seem disposable unless you go for uprated ones with a nut and bolt rather then Allen head.
-
The question is will you get it running before the new year. Saw another LS swap from Poland the other day. Will be interesting to see what yours sounds like in comparison.
-
Yeah I had the same issue, spongy pedal but still feeling safe. Just went a bit deeper into the corner and cooled the brakes for a lap.
-
Good insight about the window runners. You're right about it going light before it comes around. Makes the car so Playful. How did you find the stock brakes?
-
Nice little update Sam. Is that window guide meant to be fixed in place or does it follow the glass up and down. Mine has marks on the glass like this may have happened already. Toyota couldn't see anything wrong with the door card off but I bet that's what's caused mine. Cheers for the in depth pictures. Glad you had a good time on track, oulton Park does look like alot of fun. The 86 is very communicative and adjustable in standard guise on track, probably more noticeable when your used to the vx220? Out of interest what was your sound test with the HKS single exit recorded at?

What sort of wheels are you going to fit that you can't get in 5x100?
-
That loom looks incredibly simple laid out on its own. Will it hook up to the factory ecu and work with the dials?
-
Found it!!! https://www.carscoops.com/2018/09/badgeless-subaru-brz-prototype-testing-aero-updates-ring/amp/

I saw something similar being. Tested at the nurburgring on a face-lift, they rumoured it as testing for the new version in 2021. I have tried to find the link but I have way too much in my search history to find it at the moment. Hasn't keethos got a similar setup and that looks good.
-
So those wings allow a wider wheel at the front? Does the vent behind the wheel improve performance or is it aesthetic 'because race car'?
-
Rebuilding the loom from scratch is brave but probably the best decision all things considered. Glad things look like they could finally be coming to an end. The block does sit quite far back against the firewall but it looks so right sat in an 86.

Having just read this after @GT86-Ian told me that your car is Renault liquid yellow not 86 yellow because of the track incident. What a story of recovery and stress, most would of sold up at that point. How come not all the pictures load though. I've still not seen any with the 57 getters on show ready?

Can you use the carista app for multiple cars? I could see a real use for this if I can plug into the family fleet and diagnose/reset most fault codes.

Was just looking through tuning developments YouTube channel at exhaust sounds and found @VAD17 turbo setup video. Never heard one that whines like a supercharger. Very stealthy yet powerful sounding car you've built there.
-
Yes exactly that! Thank you Church.

I'm also very curious about this myth of Battery disconnect for ecu relearning as I've never seen actual convincing results.- 231 replies

Great turn out today was nice to see everyone again and some new faces. Plenty of nice rare cars to look at as well as many gt86's and BRZ's. Sorry I didn't take any pictures. -
GT86 BRZ Tuning Package from Tuning Developments

Wow its improves the mpg!? Is that because you have more torque so down shifting isn't always required when at cruising speeds. Do tuning developments provide the gum as well?- 231 replies

Just about to start cleaning mine but I've got to be quick to beat the rain coming to Sussex around 4ish. Shell garage before 7:15 okay got it. -
It's a nice enough looking car but I wouldn't say I'd rush to the dealers to pay twenty five thousand for it. Basically the same as most hot hatchbacks available today. Same boring inline four cylinder turbocharger fart sounding car that pops and bang like every quick car these days. Stupid emission laws have manufacturers all making the same thing.

Sorry for the late reply my auto notify turned off. Font well race course is a good meeting location at 7:30-8, there is a shell petrol station on the same roundabout I'd suggest meeting there. -
Looks like a very good package installed by the Abbey wizards. Great car made a little bit more fun. Do you track the car? Just wondering how reliable it will be after 20mins of constant redline. Where does the oil line plumb into the block?
-
I agree that the car looks faster than it is compared with today's hot hatch selections, but chasing numbers either becomes boring or too expensive. On its own the car feels plenty fast enough for the public roads especially once you do the manifold and remap.
