I’ve heard that Rogue do make a really good sports cat, you have to ask them nicely though. TBH if you’re staying NA the best gain for price is the TD NA package. If you don’t want a noisy car then leave the middle cat and cat back exhaust as OEM. Whilst can gain some more power changing these bits you will definitely get a lot more noise and cabin drone doing so.

scraping/squeaking noise pulling away - Suspension?
Luke replied to castroneves's topic in Mechanical
Hmm, think I have a similar noise, thought it was the rear parcel shelf, but could be this I’ll have to investigate. Thanks for posting your findings. -
Yeah put back to stock especially if your doing yourself because there is no labour charges. Those parts are desirable so providing your happy to box up and ship you’ll have no problem selling.

Wheels are now sold.

Do you think it’s bad to run an oil cooler on the car during winter for road and daily use? I’m really on the fence about getting one as the car takes a while to heat up in the winter.
-
Yeah it definitely will rotate if you trail brake into the corners. Track mode at least though.

Where are you located or would you be willing to courier?

I’ve just fitted today an Apeman C420D it’s smaller than my last one which was an apeman c800 I changed because the battery died in it but I picked the c420d because it’s smaller and hides behind the rear view mirror better so it doesn’t distract me. It has a tiny rear camera as well so I get better coverage of the car. Best thing about these cars is it’s easy to tuck the wires behind the panels and trims and you have the hidden plug socket behind the glove to use so it’s all neatly hidden away. Garmin and kenwood make a smaller if you really want to hide it.

I tried it last night and preferred the Gt86’s tendency to oversteer. Felt like it had more character over the GR86.

I would say if it worked before you changed the rear lights, that there maybe a fault with circuit board on those lights. I’ve not tried unplugging the rears before but I’ve unplugged the side bumper indicators and it doesn’t affect the flash speed at all. Mine is a 2017 facelift so may have a different flasher unit as it’s designed with led bulbs as standard.
-
Yep mine is a mine field after 4 years and 40k it’s usually single carriage roads with trucks and suv coming the other way that flick stones onto the windscreen because the car is low. I bought a diy repair kit to keep most of the little ones filled in. Also have a paint touch up kit from chipex for the front end, much easier to use than regular touch up pens and quicker too. Sadly it’s part of ownership.

Of course it is a Harrop, sorry I forgot and have cosworth on the brain at the moment. That’s good to know about the exhaust I look forward to hearing it soon.
-
I imagine it’s a smoother note and slightly less aggressive than before, however the cosworth probably makes it’s more aggressive again.
-
Thanks Martin, I knew you’d have the answer. I need to hear your tuning developments exhaust system now that you’ve changed the manifold. Are you going to any meet ups?
-
Biggest bit of advice is make sure the cat is really warmed up before it goes through emission checks as you’ve not got the primary cat the secondary cat needs to be warmed up by running the engine.
-
Just to clarify because people go on about drone a lot, does drone occur at all times? From my civic days the exhaust noise would just make a really deep sound at 3k which mean it was loud most of the time, that’s what I consider drone noise. Am I right?
-
I would of come along but I’m busy Sunday morning. However I’ve heard this meet mentioned a few times with different people. Is it full of pop and bang vapers with rust bucket cars? Or do you get the nice cars and owners there? Excluding you and your car of course VAD? I might get along to the next month.

I get that it could be a trait but it’s worth figuring out what is moving around to cause the clunk. How are you finding the feel of the AP compared to the oem brakes?
-
Yes fingers crossed they make a new one for the UK. I think the facelift during mid cycle will look a lot better and add some nicer interior trims like before. Also where is the performance pack with brakes and suspension changes?
-
Sent you a pm.

Invidia q300 is pretty low on db. You can usually find a used one if you’re quick at a fair price.
-
Yes whilst I had all the interior panels out I coated all panels in Bilt Hamber Dynax under body and cavity wax.

Just wanted to say thank you to you @sam534 for making this tutorial. I found it very helpful especially noting down the part numbers and identifying which wire did what in the dashboard tweeters. I’ve recently upgraded the speakers and treated the doors to some rust protection and sound deadening material. The sound quality is vastly improved and the door doesn’t rattle so much from the bass in the better speakers. Job well done.

When I last saw @VAD17 in Bedford back in December the official fix for the cone filter neck breaking was to just use a shorter cone filter. @VAD17 makes subtle turbo sounds very OEM and power does feel progressive from the passenger seat. @MartinT Harrop setup looks incredibly OEM under the bonnet and makes it easy to tinker under the bonnet. As for what is better, I still can’t decide.
