    Aero Boot Spoiler

https://www.gt86ownersclub.co.uk/forum/15-general-gt-86-brz-discussion/11707-aero-spoiler.html There will be holes left in the middle of the boot. An easier swap would be the entire boot and spoiler, or a clean boot that never had a spoiler.

    BRZ vs Alpine video

That video makes me want to enjoy my 86 even more. I hear the Nurburgring is open to tourist laps, how do you think I could wangle that as an essential travel trip?

    Deactivate Alarm

@knightryder that manual literally just saved my marriage. Left the wife in the car whilst queuing in Homebase during covid 19 lockdown! Had an audience watching whilst I frantically tried to turn the alarm off. With pin codes, key in the door, bonnet up trying to pull fuses. Before a google search brought me hear again to my safe space sanctuary that is the GT86 bible. Thank you.

    Smudge's supercharged V8 build

I've considered this a few times when a Chelsea tractor tries to drive over me. What did you do with the oem holes in the parcel shelf?

You must be missing driving it right now. I get withdrawal symptoms after a week away from mine.

Bringing an 86 back from the dead

Ah I see, so toyota oem parts are for sale on an ebay store. That's good to know. Did the pin snap because the handbrake was on when you pulled the disc off? I changed my rear discs and pads a while back and luckily didn't suffer this problem. Wish I'd known about the caliper bolts being the right size to pry the disc off. I was clouting it with a mallet for quite some time before it came loose.

Where do you order your brake shoe pins and oem specific bolts from? I'm guessing it's not a Toyota dealer.

    knocking sound

I'd agree with Lauren, the worse it becomes the easier it will be to identify the source. Drop links is usually more audible on full lock or over speed bumps.

    New Owner - Red Primo 86! :)

I like the rs style wheels. Had considered them for mine at some point. Angelina has a red primo model that does looks very cool with its simpler designed headlights and key start. Means you get a bigger storage pocket for your phone as well.

    New Owner - Red Primo 86! :)

Hi, erm you didn't mention the wheels, what are those? They look good, black against the red. Being a Lotus engineer seems like fun. Perhaps you can add some Colin Chapman ethos into the 86.

    Buy now or wait?

I fitted a camera, much better than holes in the bumper for reverse parking. Most aftermarket car accessories shops will offer several options and will be reasonably priced and just as good if not better then dealer fit, because you'll have more choice.

Lukeism = Nothings impossible but miracles take a little longer. KPMF colour. Wow I look forward to seeing that in the flesh. Looks a little bit like the the red GT86 on the brochure. Are you wrapping yourself?

Bringing an 86 back from the dead

Okay so first of all. A tip of the hat to your dad letting you take his car over to Germany even though you'd never driven in Europe before. Secondly the body kit looks fairly subtle in the unpainted black with a carbon bonnet. Que lairy paint/wrap colour reveal? Thirdly can you actually see the easily copyable serial no. on the spoiler? Reverse the mould and make a pretty penny for a liberty walk "Style" spoiler. Sometimes I think the duck tail boot lip spoilers cost more than an actual chassis aero GT time attack scaffold attachment. Fourthly (if that's a thing) kick the car out in front of the garage and then you have loads of space to work on the body kit. Then all you need is a nice Spring weekend to fit it all up. That would make a good time-lapse '12 hours of body kit mounting'. Then wait for a dry day to slowly travel down to the fabrication shop for some bigger wheel arches to be welded in. Brakes and wheels fitted later on and before you know it your rolling to japshow in May. Engine swap over the Summer, burning tyres quicker than fuel by Autumn. You best get cracking Sam.

When I look at those brakes I have a real urge to pull out a torque wrench and start checking all the bolts are tightened. That's just my ocd though.

Wow, put them in a display cabinet. There too good to fit tyres to or get dirty.

    Which winter tyre?

I've got a set of Dunlop sp winter tyres 205/55/R16 on some fox motorsport wheels fitted. I do prefer the ride to the OEM primacies. Have lost the tyre roar at motorway speeds but can hear typical winter tyre whirring sound at lower speeds. The ride is much better and you lose some feedback on initial turn in and I feel like the rear tyres breaks away far more progressively. So I'm enjoying the change. I'm expecting a delayed bad winter for the daily commute which I'm sure these tyres will serve me well.

    Exhaust Upgrade

I'd say look at some more popular tried and tested choices.

Fuel Coffee House meet SAT 16th November

Nice little catch up at my favourite coffee stop. Thanks for organising a meet in winter with a cosy coffee shop to hang out in.

    Seriously want a GT86

If I'd could put my two pence in. Don't seek out the factory Toyota sat nav as previously mentioned, it's awful. I spent around £500 to install a high quality Sony 7inch touchscreen with android auto/apple car play as well as Bluetooth. This meant I had much better sound quality, great radio reception as well as Dab. Once you plug your phone in you have the best voice control, navigation and music options available at the touch of a button. Also if you have something like this installed you can have a very nice subtle reversing camera installed which saves drilling holes in the bumper for parking sensors and makes reversing far less of a guessing game. As with any car a very well documented service history is a must have.
  21. I think that @will300has removed the headlining to install sound deadening so he'll know more. If not check out his build thread. From what I've explored it's between 5-10mm.

    UK GT86 Xenon Temperature Colour?

I think they are about 4300k to 5000k but if you go for 55w rather than 35w you'll get a brighter whiter light from the same kelvin bulb. I always complement the oem headlights, great light spread and colour. Also not so bright they irritate others motorists.

    Jap Fest 2020

More than likely it's always the largest gathering of 86/brzs in the UK. Usually a topic will be put up early in the new year.
