Sorry the email didn't arrive. I am sure Adrian will look after you. Have fun with the V2 charger.

Sorry I emailed you back saying we wont have any HKS kits in the UK for 4 to 6 weeks. Did you not get that email? I said buy from your Germany Supplier. Removing the 2nd cat still allows the UK cars to pass the Uk MOT emission test. So I am sure your have no troubles but if you run the 2nd Cat you wont make 270BHP I am afraid. Sorry again if you didn't get my last email.

Yes comes as a lovley complete kit , just is a little expensive. You need to do something nice ot get the air in either remove the fog lamp and some nice holes in the bonnet. Stacking the rads I agree it will be okay but the iar has to work hard to pass through 4 rads so you can get stand off (air bouncing back)

Will the oil cooler mount in the same position as the HKS cooler is mounted see below maybe an idea.
-
is the oil pressure better on your car GT86owner if the oil temp is below 100 deg C?
-
doesnt matter if the oil cooler matrix is up side down , the engine oil pressure will bleed the radiator very well

Lets get this thread split up will be good to keep discussing oil pressure/oiling issues. -
Special K , what pump rotors was you using before they where rejected by your engine builder? Shall we get Rob to split this thread our development car and oil discussions. Can you sort thos Rob please leave both thread under Abbey Motorsport please.

so they are just using a Accusump then. The stock crank has a very funny designed oil drilling from the centre main to No. 2 and 3 big end bearing.

K , saying to run over 1 bar you need uprated engine parts isnt quiet true. The limiting factory of the FA20 motor is cylinder pressure which hurts the stock con rods. Turbo F/I makes a lot of cylinder pressure in the mid range area where as a SC car makes less cylinder pressure in the mid range area ( The centrifugal charger makes less than a positive displacement charger) The stock crank is pretty strong and as long as the lubrication system is good I am sure this item will be okay for 500bhp. The GPRM motor runs dry sump so we know the lubrication will be good. -

the 245 doesnt look to big for the 8.5 front rim. I was more talking about the profile , think a 35 profile would look better tbh , car looks a little heavy on the front end I feel. With the tyre width I am running it will have enough grip so running very little toe in helps the car I feel , I havent had a good drive to get a real good feedback yet but I do know it need a little more front travel so I will need to lose some droop to gain so travel but this might help with weight transfer. Running 2 deg front will make the car nervous I feel in the straight ahead position but maybe I will need to dial this amount of camber into to try to be 100% sure. All good fun thou the HKS Hipermax 4 Damper do feel very very good so far. -

Jay as your car has the under drive pullies fitted( crank pulley) your car is on the maximum rpm for the Sprintex 210 SC I am afraid -

Started to do some suspension/wheels upgrade Enkei rs05rr 8.5 Frt 9.5 Rr x 18 ET42 , Dunlop RT Maxx 245/40 x 18 ( maybe I should have gone for 235/35 x 18) HKS Hipermax IV GT damper set up (lowered another 10mm from Stock HKS setting dampers set to 15 mid way at the moment) Super Pro rear lower arms and track arms to allow the rear cambers to be set up correctly Already have Super Pro front lower arm bush upgrades fitted All set up on our in house Hunter Hawkeye Alignment rig At the moment suspension settings are; 1.5 neg front camber 1.0 neg rear camber 0.1 degree toe in rear track 0.1 degree toe out front track still running stock roll bars all round. -
The PI duty % is all dependent on the PI/DI ratio the tuner is running , running more fuel on the PI allows the DI to be fired for a shorter time (reducing fuel amount injected by the DI) so you can play with the ignition timing a little more without seeing any detonation. The DI does help with charge temps thou.

It wont be the cams calibration holding the car back it will be the restrictor strangling the SC, this is why the boost drops off at higher RPM the SC can't suck all the air it requires through the 39mm restrictor.

I think without the restrictor we will be seeing 1.2/1.3 bar boost at the top end; I ask Mas what rpm the SC is running with the HKS set up,- 88 replies

These HKS blowers don't make the boost at the bottom end like the Postive displacement blowers so they are easier on the motors. Peak torque isn't to 6000+ so no real hassle with peak cylinder pressure like you get with a turbocharged motor. Can't wait to run one without a restrictor :-)- 88 replies

Mark@Abbey M/S replied to GT86Jay's topic in Projects & Builds
Jay summed it up pretty well , Sprintex has more initial torque being a positive displacement charger, where as the HKS makes more top end power. the HKS keeps the spirit of the Stock NA car thou more revs more power where as the Sprintex makes it like a big V8... I have seen something else that looks good thou- 88 replies

Jay. they are an awesome kit , even in Stage 1 spec (stock restrictor) they fly , very linear power delivery just enhances the stock powerband I feel. they are different to the Sprintex but do the same job if you understand that. have fun. We have one going through the shop at the moment for fitment and hopefully another few being booked in for June fitment and tuning- 88 replies

The V2 HKS SC kit is pretty awesome TBH it isnt far behind the Sprintex with regards mid range torque and will always give more power top and and with the removable restrictor with extra work can really stretch it legs. Yes we advise to add a Charge air temp sensor so the inlet air temp is measure POST intercooler not pre SC if you use the car as it is , the IAT is situated in the Air Flow meter as stock. Would love to run a Cosworth SC kit on our in house dyno to allow us to compare all the SC kits available at th emoment
