it will just be pad deposits due to running the pads over there Temp limit; try 6 hard stops from 70 to 20mph let the brakes cool BUT don't stop with your foot on the brake; The another 6 stops the same again let them cool BUT don't stop with your foot on the brake and 1 more set of 6 stops; Reason not to stop with your foot on the brakes as the hot pads will leave a deposition of brake material on the rotor , carrying out the 3 x 6 stops we are trying to clean the rotors. let the brakes cool before parking the car give that a go it may help

You guys haven't got a SC helping to move more air!

Is there still free play when the pedal is on it's top stop to allow fluid to be pushed back into the master cylinder reservoir? Better to check this when the car is hot. If there isn't any free play this could cause hassle as the clutch wears. Good read thou. Funny that cars are all different thou.

Ed, I have been looking at the Invidia system which seems a good quiet system or we make our own system. I we make our own system we can angle the outlets towards the floor to help for noise tests. Catch up next week for a chat. Thanks

I have an idea, we see a lot of broken oil pumps on RB25/26's cause by miss shifts and over revs. Big rpm spins the oil pump fast so pumping a lot of oil the extra oil can't be pumped anywhere faster so the outter pump gears are forced apart causing it to break. Terminal engine failure normally happens due to no oil pressure and possibly the outter oil pump gears breaking out of the oil pump casing. The extra volume would help this not to happen as it will cushion the oil pressure pulsations. Just my thought thou :-)

FA20 4 into 1 manifold_for the GT86/BRZ motors
Mark@Abbey M/S replied to Mark@Abbey M/S's topic in Abbey Motorsports
Kristov, We have run the FA20 manifold on a car with a Cobra resonated system that was too loud and then we replaced the centre silencer and it helped but it was still a little too noisy. I think it would be good with a Invidia system as this system is very quiet. I would need to hear your system noise to give me a better idea; thanks -
We have our last FA20 manifold for sale at a discounted price; Although there customer service was non exsistent the manifld worked very well when coupled to a good exhaust to quieten the manifold down this with a good ECUTEK tune will remove the FA20 dip at 4000rpm. URL=https://imageshack.com/i/ipbz53eXj] Price is £400-00 inc vat + shipping. Approx 50% discount. Quality is good and with a little work this will work with a turbo upgrade kit. Any questions ask away.

My take on this , manufacturer are always looking at saving costs nowadays so if they didn't need to add a damper that helped the harmonics they wouldn't; We have built a couple of FA20 motors both where balanced prior to being built both come back with some work on the front pulley to get the balance spot on. Personally I wouldn't remove the stock damped front pulley. The light weight propshaft/flywheel will make the motor respond quicker, but this also makes the motor drop it revs quicker as there isn't as much inertia in the rotating items. Pro and cons like a lot of things on cars/engines.

We are looking at doing some more CAT training days this year; from the start of CAT's excellence driving tuition all the way up to track day tuition. I need to know an idea what people want as a lot of people had already spent sometime with Colin/Jo @ Millbrook. Have a look at there website. http://www.catdrivertraining.co.uk/ http://www.catdrivertraining.co.uk/driver-training-courses/driving-academy-programme/performance-driver-full-day.html http://www.catdrivertraining.co.uk/driver-training-courses/driving-academy-programme/grip-limit.html http://www.catdrivertraining.co.uk/driver-training-courses/driving-academy-programme/driver-optimisation-course.html Abbey Motorsport will be running a track day early this year with Colin attending so if you have already spent sometime with Colin and CAt Training you can further enhance your driving skills on a race crircuit.. Any questions ask away.

Guys a V8! will spoil the awesome handling of these lovely little pocket rockets it is like fitting V8 into a S13/14/15 one way to make a car to front heavy! A V6 yes can be fitted far enough back in the chassis to keep the awesome handling! I know a couple of motors that will fit nicely as well. Hi Tim nice to see you over here.

Another GT86 in the Abbey workshop this week for some upgrades; Stage 1 Suspension upgrade Stage 2 power upgrade couple of pictures of the rear suspension set up we use this also has the extra subframe bush doughnuts; We also have changed the front lower arm bushes to help give the steering more feed back and the normal camber bolts to allow the camber angles to be dialed in. together with the set up on our Hunter Hawkeye Alignment rig this will give the car a far better suspension set up;

who do you guys want to run the Group buy?
-
We are talking mostly about stock cars here Maz but I do agree a little rack will help these car handling wise if your running adjustable coil overs.
-
Group buy? We can sort this guys/girls. List your names below: 1, rob275 2,
-
Non adjustable on a stock car So the adjustable Cusco item will allow the Potentiometer to be placed back int he correct postion.
-
We use a Whiteline or a Super Pro roll bar but in a lot that comes with stiffness for the roll bar brackets. We carry a Whiteline Roll Bar kit in stock.
-
Jay sorry but it isnt a simple as saying they don't need to upgrade the rear bar do you think GPRM are running a suspension system like ours , they are running slicks so roll centres and all other angles will be changed. There damper set up will be 3 way adjustable so Low speed and High speed bimp adjustment and rebound they might even have 4 way with low and high speed rebound. On our 350Z race car we tune the roll of the car on the Low speed bump adjustment. Our car runs without a front roll bar to add to cure understeer we see with our car. We have done a lot of development using our own Car and we find the rear roll bar upgrade works very well and customers have backed this up on this thread.
