    Cobra cat back non res db readings

    Noise tests for track days are recorded with the following procedure 1 metre away from the tailpipe at 45degress from the tailpipe. Car at 3/4 maximum revs. This is why your see track/race cars with extra red lines on rev counters and we also had a noise test Map asked for, swinging the cams around helps lower the noise level. Also any buildings or cars around the rear of the car will cause the db reading to differ. Also humidity and pressure (weather) makes a difference. I feel all the noise tests should be carried out with the same specs. Also your noise meter can you record the noise level in slow and fast levels this makes a difference as well.

    For those with Cobra non-resonated systems

    We have fitted 4 non resonated systems all are what I call very loud. That is why I said thy where loud. After spending time getting cars trough noise tests I do understand what is noisy and what isn't. Amazing Crow, I thought I had sent you a reply looking back it didn't send I apologize for this, sorry if it came across bad. The couple of systems makes we supply and fit on the GT86/BRZ's I list as the following quietest to the noisest (like for like thou all with or without a 2nd cat delete pipe) Milltek resonated Milltek un-resonated Cobra resonated Cobra un-resonated These are my opinions. I have spoken to Matt @ Cobra today we are going to discuss this matter further tomorrow. I will help you guys out by pushing Cobra to look after you if you don't want to buy the resonated centre section at a reduce cost. I am also looking into the fitting issues with regards the tailpipes. I feel Jay system is quieter than any other un-resonated system thou. Leave it with me for a few days. To get some measurements of noise levels speak to Cobra. Thanks

    Guys hang on as I have said to Keethos we need to try his system on our Abbey Car before we can go any further. Hope to have this done very soon. Steveexige your system was resonated as fitted by Abbey the noise issue with your car is the FA20 headers. Amazing Crow, can I ask why you did speak to me the supplier before going direct to Cobra. I did say on the initial group buy that I felt the NON Resonated system is too loud as I had run one on my car before changing to a resonated system. I am currently driving back from France will look into more later on. Mark

    Suspension bushes from the front lower arms , the front bush is heavily voided; Fitting the Super Pro bush kit has taken away some of the vagueness we feel the car has with small steering input.

    Rob, on a stock car like your with just the front and rear toe to adjust and maybe tweak the front camber within the stock set up is £120-00 inc vat. I am currently working on a Stage 1 suspension set up , keeping the stock dampers and springs but fitting some uprated front lower arms bushes and maybe steering rack bushes and some adjustable rear camber arms and an Alignment. Just working out the spec and set up on my car. We have noticed a lot of the cars we see have excessive rear camber on the drivers side this is why we are looking at fitting a rear adjustable arms , no rose joints thou just eccentric's on the otter joint. thanks

We have now 100% sorted the idle control (after trying to work around the issues) ECUTEK have now found the maps we was waiting for to be found (all the traders that can tune ECUTEK on here have asked for these maps) I was at work late last night when the update was loaded onto ECUTEK server then updated onto our Pro software so tweaked my map on our Development car cold start this morning was 1200rpm falling to the 800rpm warm idle , music to my ears and my neighbours ears. And my wife is happy as well ;-) Screen shot of the maps we modify. Any Abbey customers can request the Abbey ECUTEK cable to borrow or even buy a ECUTEK cable that will allow us to update your Abbey Motorsport ECUTEK tune. Mark
