Smoked valenti tail lights with or without 3rd break light
Muckyman replied to Jay Bamrah's topic in Wanted GT86 / BRZ Cars and Parts
Jay, I have a set of those that I'm taking off tonight and putting back to standard. (trading the car in for a 911) Only had them for a month so they are like new. I'm in St Albans, Hertfordshire and prefer collection. I'll be looking for £250 for these. Advert will go up later in the week, but thought I would just reply here as you posted a 'wanted'. Let me know Michael -
Hi all, Newbie here, hoping you can help. I got a Gt86 at the weekend and all was well. Decided to wash it yesterday, and removed the bee sting aerial while doing so. The radio no longer has any reception (the aerial was screwed back on obviously) :-) Any help / pointers / advice as to what could have gone wrong or how to fix it? many thanks Michael

After trying a longer aerial with a small improvement, I have finally solved my radio reception issue - with a Pure Highway 200 DAB digital radio adapter. Works perfectly and highly recommend for anyone having issues with radio reception.
-
to be honest, I'm not even sure if the radio reception was there before the wash. I only bought the car the day before and had been listening to music from USB. I may have listened to the radio but really can't remember. So, general consensus is the following? Drop rear headliner and unbolt the antenna assembly. Dry it all out and refit. No guarantee, but worth a try? ta
-
where? I took the antenna off to wash it, as it says to in the owners manual so it must be designed to be OK to do so, and dried the screw thread hole as best as I could before refitting it.
-
so, I did some investigation at the weekend. As far as I can see, the antenna connections are OK, bot at the antenna and at the back of the head unit. Could be one of the joins in the cable length is broken though. The car is going in for its recall on the 15th so I'll ask Toyota to look into this also. Is the general view that radio reception is poor in these cars because the antenna is rubbish, or is it the head unit that's at fault? ta

Could it be that the aerial is not broken but it’s just crap? I’ve not actually investigated it yet, (will at the weekend), but I can receive my towns local FM station and AM stations - I can’t get any national FM stations at all and I always could in previous cars. So, could it be faulty? If it was faulty would it not just receive nothing at all?

Hi all, just joined up as I'm considering a Cosworth supercharged GT-86 as my next run around - although there's not many of them for sale at any given time. Am currently driving a pristine JDM Toyota Supra TT (if anyone with a Cosworth Supercharged '86 fancies a swap, drop me a line) :-) Previous cars have included (in no particular order)... BMW Z3M, VX220 (supercharged), MX-5 (turbo), MR2 SW20 Turbo, MR2 AW11 (x3), Clio 182, TVR Chimaera 450, Mitsubishi Evo V, Celica GT-4 (x2), 350Z, Audi TT etc etc. Have considered a GT-86 Cosworth conversion for a while now, and joined up to look into owners real world experiences and to check common issue / upgrades etc cheers Michael

thats exactly what I was looking for 6 months ago! Fancy a swap for an M3?
-
no longer looking. Nothing to suit my needs came up so I bought a M3 at the weekend. Maybe a GT86 next time....
-
Again, don’t like the kit. OEM works for me..

Hi all, I've just put my Supra up for sale and as soon as it goes I'll be looking at getting straight into a GT-86. I'm obviously keeping an eye on all the classifieds but if anyone is toying with the idea of selling please let me know as I'll likely want to get a replacement car immediately. Ideally I would like a Cosworth Supercharged conversion (or another SC conversion) but its not a deal breaker as that can be done later on. At the very least, I would want a ECUTEK remap. I would consider a turbo conversion too. Would prefer a white car, and would prefer a TRD but open to vitually all options. I don't particularly like red cars, or those with the red interior options (ie part red steering wheel) So, if you're even thinking of selling up please pop some details on here. many thanks Michael

Really not a fan of the styling on that one, but ta for the heads up...

I’ve now taken a deposit on my Supra so am now ready to move on a forced induction GT86. Please post up if you are considering selling...
