Dynapack Comparison_SC's versus Turbo
CHOSENMAN007 replied to Mark@Abbey M/S's topic in Abbey Motorsports
Mate with respect.. A sprintex 210 kit is far from full chat on a 75mm pulley. I'm on 238whp on that stock pulley (auto). And I'm sure I will get more on a 69mm pulley.. The charger can push out more than the actual motor can handle in my view (stock motor). I may be wrong but there are guys on smaller pulleys in the states pushing 260 plus wheel. Even a guy here in u.k on a 69mm pulley with 248wheel. It is a flexible kit. -

Its been done ages ago mate.. Bigger more hybrid stuff coming out the sheds as always in the USA.. The u.s guys are always years ahead. But the first combo turbo-s.c came out of Australia funny enough. Below is a link. http://m.motoring.com.au/news/2013/sports/toyota/86/world-first-twin-charged-toyota-86-for-oz-39142 Most interesting part of the article is the professional teams choice in wheel size... You will completely catch other cars with their pants down with an s.c. drop two cogs or three and its instant thrust no waiting for spooling up. Mine whines much louder now too dude to the high boost.. Love it... More to come from mine too... Gtb is right chassis's talent out weights the power out put. Not now ; ) -

What ever you pay for its worth it mate. Trust me ! So much better than stock -
Those pipes could be bigger than mine : ( I thought mine where biggest lol Either way good show. Its all provado home boy.

Damm that's slammed. Looks ace if you like riding dirty bro ; )

Just bought a waffle sprocket it certainly gives me the edge now . well in
-
so yes it's normal Paul. Well peak 60s anyway. Your in good hands with mark bro. I run high 20s and peak at mid 40s. On hard runs. ; ) no matter what ambient temp is.
-
Nah no need. What I need one for! Don't even know it is. My auto box works well. What difference does it make?
-
Why not run like that all day every day! I do. : )
-
Its almost worth buying it for the parts not to mention the motor.

This initial d is amazing. Big fan of the gormless kid from gunma : )

Glad to hear it mate.

In my opinion I would never warrant winter tires in most cases, but there are cases and locations I would. I've done numerous profession road driving courses and the ultra high performance tire won in every situation Barr snow. In the wet uhp tires had less chance of aqua planning but asi agree with lauren unless your in 4 inches of water for prolonged period summer tires are better. Its a misconception that summer tires won't perform in temps between 1° and 7° only truth to that is if your using a road/track compound tire. Even then those tires come with a cold temp warning. Unless you live in the Brecon beacons, parts of Cumbria, parts of Yorkshire, or northern scotland save your money. Only time you absolutely need them would be in 0° or less when roads get icy. Even then black ice won't stop you getting spat off the road. Also if its snowing heavy. We have tested all these for various factors for driving in different countries and to understand certain characteristics of different conditions, also to know the hazards. Hope this helps. I've never used winter tires unless we had a snow warning! : ) So rule of thumb is there's snow or temps below freezing buy winter tires. Done. Standing water or fording just drive very slow till you clear them : ) 99% road 1% deep puddles. You do the math.

All are good. You want the best alcon, or brembo aftermarket. Not OEM brembos ie of factory cars! After that ap racing or tarox. Best of mid range d2, k sport, buddy club or wilwood. Depends on budget.. Personally if your not a pro you won't notice the difference in top or mid range. I have d2s 6 pot and I can push myself forward with force under hard braking..

I actually thought that was all standard oops lol

Where has your seat heater switches gone? I could swear that's where they go.

Water Methanol Injection discussion

Your welcome Quixote and sideways means a lot guys. I knew the tech was proven on every other aspect of car tuning. Until myself it has only been run on scion frs's. Not u.k based cars so obviously I was nervous how the fa20 engine would respond, but as you can see through the data which was done by one of the top tuners in the u.k (abbey Motorsport) it works extremely well. I'm glad its all over now if I'm honest. Now I've shared my r n d everyone else can utilise this tech to if they decide to get sprintex kits from abbey, maybe abbey might do package deals, sprintex plus water injection : ) Its all about fine tuning between myself, mark at abbey Motorsport and Bruce from devils own. Don't forget from the first attempt at tuning this tech my car has become the most powerful auto sprintex car and possibly one of the most powerful sprintex cars on a stock 75mm pulley manual or auto. All whilst being more effient, reliable, cooler and cleaner. So you can see the potential for manual cars. I hate to imagine this set up on a 355 sprintex kit. The results would be astounding. With a progressive controller either done via ecutek CPU or a devils own kit I'm sure we can get better figures yet to come. One for you Steve, I think your approach if viable and feasible and will work. Glad to see another alternative if you fit it that way. : ) -
Since a posted by accident on the banana tread and my last tread in regards got to much for some; ) ive decided to start a new slate Injection methanol/ water mix initial facts and views. Since I'm the first gt86 / brz to install the kit in the u.k it was all guess work. What psi for the mix to inject in at and size of jet/nozzle. With good mathematics on Bruce SuperPro Morris part and the handy work of his brother alfie we got to a do3 nozzle which is small as they go up to do17. We set my initial injection at 8 psi. The install was done over night with hints that abbey Motorsports Mark Gillam has done a immaculate s.c install. The devils own kit is cleanly done without a hint unless a keen eye looked into the engine bay and popping the boot you will never know I had it. Wires are tucked away, the nozzle is discreet and the rocker switches are of OEM quality even the low tank led (see pics). On initial drive out I was 50-50 nervous & excited. But after 15 mins of beating on the car I could see the red light switch on telling me the meth pump was active at 8 psi. Point to note my average AIT (air intake temps) prior the methanol water injection where 54-56 degrees and I'd peak at 64 degrees. You would never dream of touching your engine bay let alone throttle body. Now with a 8psi setting ie boost level the meth kicks in at I was seeing average temps of 42-44 degrees and peaking at 56 but it would rapidly drop right back down to average once off hard throttle. I though wow. 30mins in I said let's set it at 6psi.. Ragged the car up and down the a303 for another 45mins... Omg my temps averaged at 36-39 degrees and peaked at 51 but within seconds coming off the throttle I was back down to 36-39 degrees. Bruce said amazing but there is more gains "we will adjust the pump to a stronger setting and let those down even further. After smashing the car harder than I've ever done even stock a parked up just to soak in all the information.... Man this has made an amazing sprintex gt86 even better.. I actually put my hand right on my throttle body without testing for heat first it was just above warm, if I had no meth you would of gone a & e with 3 rd degree burns. No joke. Actually eveny oil temps have dropped by 5 degrees. Without meth once in the high 60s the car was not as pokey due to the temps but now you can feel she is ready to go like she hit the Columbian marching powder all the time every time. More testing and reviews to come peeps. Can't wait for abbey to see what they think once its there. ; ) Reading this back it seems I'm to biased towards devils own. So all reviews no matter how good has negative points. 1st on a actuated 6psi the mix went down a lot faster but my temps where colder. In a hour and a half of full throttle I went down quarter of a tank. But in reality I'm not going to drive like that normally so it should be far less. My red led switch is to far out of sight but that's an easy fix or moving it or adding another. That's all for bad points. Oh fun is also addictive. S.c and water injection is awesome.

Steve, None of the progressive systems from Devilsown use a solenoid unless the nozzle is being mounted post TB like in direct port and a Check valve is not up to the job because of the high vacuum. The controllers like most of all the others on the market control flow by controlling the pump. Boost is by far the most popular because as soon as you bring IAT's into the mix then as your shooting for as low as poss for the most gains the kit is going to be on all the time anyways and seeing as temp rises naturally with boost it seems logical to control the kit via boost. Also in case you do change your mind in the future to run a water meth mix make sure the kit you buy is 100% methanol compatible if not pumps tanks and line pack in quick! Look at methanol kits from devils own, aem, snow and aqua mist to name but a few. Only reason I went with Devilsown is because they make the best nozzles and pumps. As was what the yanks said ; ). Buy a kit fit it yourself then get abbey to map it as they have the knowledge in this dept now. -

Looks promising Steve. You going for it? I'm just on a simple actuated set up. Via boost pressure I spray at 6psi and I'm then mapped around it. Will test and adjust once mark has completed his r & d, he will let me know I'm sure. If you need to know anything about my kit and how I'm running it let me know. As nozzle and pump pressure for this set up is not what you might think mate! The kits don't have solenoids as they are only required when placing a nozzle post TB and the vacuum is over 20psi, the pump controls flow via PWM. you need a pump that can supply over 100psi pressure for the nozzle required, hence why mine is 250psi. Im going progressive either via the Devilsown controller or via ecu if it can do PWM so you can run a even bigger nozzle. All depends on what mark says. -

Thanks Griff. I was 100% confident with the kit and marks abilities to tune it. Marks graph does say it all. Its a massive difference in iat temps all the whole proven its more efficient as the water meth produces a seal within the supercharger. All this while the water steam cleans you engine. I'm still in awe of the capabilities as this is only the first attempt I'm sure there is much more tinkering to do as mark said and possibly more much more gains in the future. -
