Nothing has come close to the MX510/518 (£20) in terms of comfort and affordability for a mouse. I used to work in a PC hardware shop where I'd test all the RMA'ed gamer mice (RATS, Razer, etc) and always felt better with a 518 in hand. Unfortunately Logitech have followed the trend by tripling the price and adding lights everywhere so I've just been buying cheap mice. I swap between a £10 "ozone", £20 Roccat and £25 logitech g500s... but still keep my dead mx518 hoping one day something will come along similar. Keyboards... my current one has flat laptop style keys and cost a massive £8. I've had it 4 years now and 2 spares in case it dies. I've always liked flat keyboards since getting a Logitech UltraX at £20. When that got a soaking in Ribena it was replaced with a cheap Logitech G15 which was too bulky/didn't like it. Not tried a mechanical keyboard since we last bought one in 1989.
  2. When looking underneath my car and seeing how much space is empty I've always thought this would make an ideal conversion into an electric/hybrid. Love what they've done with it and it's quite impressive for a first go. It's between this and the STi... first one to market gets my kidney!

@kurosagi01 BT shop used to be dabs.com, BT wanted to get into selling office supplies and hardware, taking on dabs was easier than setting up their own. @Tareim Currently got a xeon x5650 overclocked from 2.6ghz to 4hgz (hex core + hyperthreading so 12 threads) running on a 7 year old Asus P6T socket 1366. Had a play last night, usb2 now wasn't good enough but luckily my usb3 pcie card arrived yesterday so I can install that at the weekend.

Well I opened the rift, couldn't resist as the box was so nice. Even on usb2 and the 970 it's a fantastic experience so far. Need to get all of my old games working as I thought they would out of the box (huge TF2 fan, worked on DK2 but not CV1) but head tracking is amazing and watching films really does feel like you're sitting at the front row of the cinema wearing a ski mask. Early days for the tech, we're just seeing the beginning (resolution needs improvement), can't wait to try project cars on it!

Grrrrr.... my Oculus Rift has been shipped! It's usually great news for gamers but I wasn't expecting it so soon (only a 6 month wait). Not sure if my 970 will handle it now, also only have usb2 on the pc (need a usb3 card!)... and I don't have time to play with it due to work! Honestly not sure if I should keep it and play, or sell it on

Leaked Fury benchmarks were supposedly going to flatten any Nvidia offerings last gen, I've been stung with Crossfire drivers updating and no longer working in games so I don't have any interest in anything AMD have to offer for now. I was probably a bit premature buying a 970 seeing how much of an increase the 1070 has and with a plan to use a rift... but I paid £170 for it so can't complain and it will do for now while VR develops and grows.

    Cosworth Exhaust/Manifold

Yeah we had another member who managed to get hold of one of the last manifolds in the country for his 2.3 install, struggled to get hold of it. Did you go straight in to 1.2 or did you have the catback for a bit first then installed the midpipe? I'm looking at adding the midpipe to my own but would like an opinion on the noise change from someone who already did that change.

    GT86 Value

I got offered £13k trade in from a dealer for a 13 plate with most of the toys and 26k on the clock. An identical one on their forecourt with no toys but only 22k on the clock had been reduced to £16k for a quick sale now sold.

    "New" Top Gear

The iplayer runtime shows 1h3min, the broadcast today was 2mins short of a full hour. Probably explains the cuts and hopefully those subjected to the live viewing did not have the complete cringeworthy section of the guests introducing each other and pimping out each others projects.

    "New" Top Gear

Wow... one night in and they've already cut sections. Tonight's re-run of last night's show had quite a chunk of the star in a car section CUT and not shown, making it even more pointless.

    "New" Top Gear

The star in a car section was DIRE, those two could have been audience members and it would have been more interesting. Two completely opposite guests and the questions thrown at them were on the right track to steer it towards cars but it was so painful to watch, as if Chris had never presented anything in his life. The first 2 minutes of the show was Chris getting the audience rattled, again completely pointless. Do that off camera and get on with the content. Just more content that Dave can cut out when it needs to shorten the program to fit it around adverts. The muscle car start had potential to be pure car porn but it got silly with guns. Ragging them around the track would have shown perfectly well how each car handled. The Nomad review was fantastic and really enjoyed that. Reliant section? had to force watch that as it looks like more filler for Dave to cut. I didn't even want to go near Extra Gear because it was hard enough sitting through an hour of that.

    New BRZ version :)

Looks like the standard marketing template (blue boxes + price + headings + logos) was used but they forgot to replace "AWD" quote with "RWD Because Racecar". It's a bit of a crap headline too.

Anyone with a Cossie S/C south of London?

Got a quote from a 3 month flexi hamster advertised Newcastle sponsorship loan company who will only let out £500 at a time over 3 months, I'd need 10 loans for 5k with a total repayment value of £7200. A spanish friendly loan service is quite happy to spread the cost over 2 years for the same amount (5k, 7.2k payback), but I'd need an amigo to sign the paperwork... then I don't have to pay it back and they can

Anyone with a Cossie S/C south of London?

If anyone wants to contribute I'd quite happily convert my car to become a Cosworth demo car (By contribute I mean pay for it... don't have the cash at the moment )

Well... it arrived and it fits! Nice upgrade, cooler and quieter. Now to stick new heatsinks on to the old cards to fit into other systems to run silently
  17. OP hasn't been on since March, but if bits are available to split I might be interested in the Nameless parts

    MY17

Will be interesting to see what offers there are on MY16 before the cutoff, my dealer is trying to get me in urgently but isn't saying much.

Monzasport have their 2.1 demo car up for sale and also fit the kit so if you want someone south of London it might be worth having a chat: http://www.monzasport.com/used-car-subaru-brz-coupe-510

    Snetterton Trackday April 27th

Was a good meetup, many thanks for the passenger laps from the few that I had. Would have liked to have done a comparison with a Primacy runner but learned enough to see about upgrading in stages rather than saving it all in one go. I didn't go to take photos as I was testing a different focus system on the camera so most of my shots are not of GT86's, here's a couple I did get:

I might come along as the final round of TSS is at Snet, so I can take the day off for research purposes if anyone is up for giving passenger laps

    TRD Air intake review

What filter were you using on the original airbox? The stock inbox is used on quite a few supercharger installs so I'm a bit surprised this was having an issue. Out of the box my Perrin intake hose with Cosworth filter made a difference but since then I've had a flat battery so it needs to adjust again. Ade was possibly looking for another stock intake box a while ago so might be worth talking to him.

    Service Charge Changes

Interim - Full - Interim on old prices (still listed on some Toyota dealers sites) is £657. Even Full - Int - Full on old prices is £777. That service plan offer is pants.

    Service Charge Changes

A heads up... once your car hits 5 years old the costs drop to £100 for interim (Silver) and £180 for full (gold) which is half the price, I've just compared both lists and they are exactly the same just jumbled up to make them look different. Very misleading!

No real space to modify, the base is 2x 180mm fans for intake and it's not possible to shift the motherboard, I have to hope their measurements are all accurate and that it fits properly. The Gigabyte card was still a preference over other cards as the heatsink fins direct air to the top and bottom of the card rather than along it, which would have been disrupted by the intake fan position. Even reference cooled cards would have been affected by the air coming in. Inside shot of the case when I first installed this system in it:
