    Trolley Jack

I've got the standard £25 jack and with a hockey puck it just fits under to jack on the seams so the low profile would work there if you don't mind doing each corner. If you want to jack on the central points I think even the Costco one might struggle on a lowered car at the front.

Would be nice to have another 86 at a BRZ meet

    Black GT86 - Price drop

If it only has evidence of one service in 5 years, probably not.

86 Starlight Blue Pro owner in Essex

Steven Seagull seems to be taking over the south east, crapping all over everything. Even after 4 years of saying no they are still calling me every 4-6 months to get me into a new car. Had my blue pre-facelift for 4 years now, if the worst does happen I would consider getting a post facelift in blue

Would love to see what the facelift is like in blue, not many of the ones pre-facelift were but it suits the car really well.

How bad was your mirror? Mine is starting to peel but it hasn't moved much recently. If they've done yours I might give them a shot for my recall work and service. Never been that pleased with their sales team though when using them.
  7. Was just thinking if I need to clean the car, the dirt masks the missing paint quite well.

Sounds good, booked in on the SS too
  9. Just got one of the last few places, no idea how this works so can someone hold my hand? Planning to be at the pub after so might as well go to this (does this mean I have to wash the car?)

And people moan about GT86 auto's

15 seconds 0-60, lovely! My sister doesn't know much about cars, but even she admits it's the worst hire car she's ever had to suffer with from work, and that was the manual version!

    Which ecutek map options?

Auto blip I like because I'm rubbish at heel-toe (years of foot pointing the wrong way, going to take a while to train out of it), mine's set to only do it above 2.7k, was lower on my old map and made car parks interesting if I was still in that mode. If I'm pushing it on the road it doesn't feel like it's in the way if I have forgotten it was on, I had it adjusted slightly so I can get a smooth gear change with it on track. Flat foot I don't really use, by default it holds the revs at the current level so it never really felt smooth, now I have mine set 400rpm less to allow a bit of drop and a smoother change. Worried about the wear on the clutch if I used it too much in "stock" form.

    Which ecutek map options?

Default Cosworth maps were: 1: Shittyfuel (was always default, older software) 2: Standard map 3: Standard + Blip + Flatfoot 4: 3+ launch control Now I have: 1: Standard 2: 1+ Flatfoot 3: 2+ blip + launch 4: Shittyfuel Launch can be on any map, you need to follow a procedure for it to work with driving aids, holding the clutch and flooring it, so driving normally you won't really trigger it. I think it's more important you get flatfoot and blip calibrated to your driving style if you plan on using them.

Sorry I'm getting a bit confused with what I actually have. I currently have the pads that Ade has offered you to try on my car as he wasn't using them with the BBK upgrade, I put them on my car after eating my pads at Bedford (got more off mine than you did!) and they've only done some motorway mileage and a wet track day at Kendrew. Should still have enough pad left on them to try but I'll get them off my car (got new road pads for now as my trackday budget has dried up) and bring them along to the meet.

@TTR are you still looking at attending this one? @Ade mentioned you want to try the clubracer pads, I've currently got them on my car but will take them off this weekend and can bring them along on the 11th if there's still some meat left on them.

    TTR's San Remo BRZ

Still a good 10 laps worth of pad left on them!
  16. My last sound test they wanted 5200rpm (3/4 max before red), achieved a high score of 109dba with a different manufacturer's EL long tube manifold

Post your GT86 / BRZ pic of day!

Drove past this location on the way to a meet (advantage of taking B roads everywhere), decided on the way back I would stop and take a photo. Lighting was spot on. Need to do something similar again with the new alloys when it's clean.

    Renewal Time

Tried to quote through CKI, I got offered a competitive price but only if I could prove the quote and only before cashback. £300 if I could show another insurer was offering that level otherwise they would only match my £400 renewal. Aviva as a returning customer wanted £420 but would drop it down to £400 to be nice, however if I signed up as a new customer (identical details, the only difference being an email address) it would drop to £350 and a further £60 back in cashback (hence why I wanted CKI to quote £300). Looks like I'll be moving to Sheilas Wheels, £270 after cashback for a modified boy racer car, and my handbag is covered too!

  22. Are those blue fenders the same ones you bought from another member for £20+postage?
  23. These are now sold and have been collected.
  24. Items: For sale I have 4x original GT86/BRZ (5x100) stock GT86/BRZ alloys in nearly new condition with Michelin Primacy tyres (barely used) fitted. Alloys have TPMS valves. Price: £500 for all 4 collected, postage not available. I may be able to deliver/meet depending on location as I travel some weekends. I may sell them in pairs for £275 a pair if both pairs will sell. Will not split individually. Price is negotiable depending on ease of transaction. Items are located in Central Bedfordshire (Near Chicksands) History: Bought these wheels straight from a seller who took them off a brand new GT86, they still had the coloured markings on the tread. These were used as spare wheels on my car to keep it legal while I used another set of low tread tyres on track. These tyres have not been out on track, but they have taken some punishment as I live near Milton Keynes. When I ran out of tread on my original alloys they had new tyres fitted and these alloys were put back into storage (dry garage). Description: 4x Alloys complete with Michelin Primacy Tyres. 2x wheels with 7mm tread, 2x wheels with 6mm tread. Alloys are complete with centre caps and fitted with TPMS sensors, these are untested as I do not have TPMS on my car and I don't know how they work on a new one. Alloys have not been kerbed/scratched or chunks taken out, they show signs of light road use. Photos show condition of wheels as they were removed from the car, if required they can be cleaned up but I don't have time currently due to work. Photos: Disclaimer: Wheels are stored in a dry garage, cannot guarantee alloys will be spider-free when delivered/collected. Spiders supplied at no extra charge. Will part-ex for a unicorn.
  25. Yes, still got all 4. I'm working this weekend but if better photos are needed I can probably get them cleaned up on Monday to show their full condition.
