    Help Ade pick an exhaust!

A kingsize duvet packed against the parcel shelf/back seat held in with a suitcase makes a huge difference to the amount of noise transmitted. Very comfortable.

You're 4dB louder due to having the supercharger, I recommend ditching that and selling it on cheap to another 1.1 owner I'm looking into possibly adding some soundproofing around the back seats/boot as the car is great when the boot is full, but with an empty load it does feel loud. Off throttle on a cool down lap on track has a really bad drone!

    Milton Keynes Karting Meet?

Can do either day, happy with slow karts. Only issue is whatever I do can only be paid for by card and even that's looking a bit tight! Stupid PCP car payment trap.

    Milton Keynes Karting Meet?

I'm quite happy to have a race around MK between sets of roundabouts

Am I doing this gym thing right?
  7. Could be tempted to get my blue done, it's a bit swirl central at the moment. Could I get a discount for taking my own photos?

    Milton Keynes Karting Meet?

If you get enough for those dates then just go ahead with it, can't please everyone (myself included)

    Milton Keynes Karting Meet?

Fine for karting, would rather do a longer race than heats. Can't do that weekend as it's Toyota Sprint in Anglesey.

    Any Pokemon Go players

Pokevision was the only thing keeping me playing as we have half a dozen stops and 2 gyms dominated by a team. HP'ing up is difficult and all we get is fluffing pidgeys. Nothing rare comes up unless you know where it's going to be.

    Tyre Decisons

Got nearly 24k out the primacys with regular rotation and a few track days, had a spare set so swapped over the rears 1k earlier than the fronts, then finished them off completely on track a few weeks later. Just below 3mm when I stopped using them on the road and down to nearly 2mm after the last track session. V105's are cheaper than primacy's and grippier so if I get 18k out of them rotated (gentle driver, captain slow reputation) it's better value and more smiles per miles

    Anywhere near Macclesfield Weds 27/07

Will keep that in mind for next July, 370 miles clocked for an oil change and a bit of fun on some northern roads but the standard of service is much better than my local dealers. Was good to catch up, car feels better prepared for tracktime tomorrow.
  13. Car in for service + other work, should be in Macclesfield all day. Didn't opt for a car so doubt I'll be able to escape the walls and travel far. Not sure if there's anyone around during the day to entertain me or maybe a meetup at night? I know it's short notice so not expecting anything, keeping options open

Sounds good to me. Not sure what time I'll be kicked out of RRG so might explore a few local roads beforehand.
  15. That's normal, that's the aircon pump engaging/disengaging. All cars will do this with the system turned on and the engine idling. Turn the aircon off and it won't spin.

I'm not staying over, but a late night for me is not unusual so happy to drive over for curry

    Gaming Thread

I bought a G27 to fix the driving itch before getting the GT86... used it once then had to move and not had the space for a setup since. Chairs on wheels are no good for steering wheel setups. Now I have a rift I really want to try project cars.

    Prestige Keep Moving Insurance Scheme

Just ran a quote, 40% higher than my renewal with my current insurer and the lightly modified price came in as the same as a highly modified (supercharger/alloys/suspension/stickers) quote I got from a comparison site.

Keep both, multi monitors are awesome!
  20. Got there eventually, didn't want to risk the m25 on a Friday evening... but the country road I was on contained an upside down car which added a 20min diversion. Standard of food was good considering it's a large chain. Photos because I got told off last time I didn't bring a camera to a meet:
  21. I might be a bit later depending on what time I can escape work, but I plan to be there
  22. The good news is the $250 refund is worth £20 more than when you bought the manifold, or £40 more if going for the full refund thanks to the £ crashing. I don't know how difficult it would be but I'd be tempted to take the $250 refund and try to sell on the manifold as spares/repairs for someone to have a go at fixing themselves, or if they're happy to live with a whistle on a manifold.
  23. You can spec different wheels from the factory... as long as you're not sourcing it from TGB. Other countries allow you to freely chose between their in stock 16/17/18" wheels, probably more in the dealers but those 3 are available though their country dealer network. Whether you want Aero or not in any colour, any TRD parts that are manufactured fitted to the car... then again I've just had my local tell me they need the car in for a FULL DAY to see the rust on my door pillars which is already a known fault, could be confirmed in 5 seconds but again computer says no, has to be a full day.
  24. I don't understand TGB's system regarding parts and upgrades. In Europe if TRD/Toyota make it, they can sell it but in the UK we get a much smaller catalogue of features and a "computer says no" approach if we ask our dealer for parts. I'm not talking about getting something that doesn't exist in Toyota's parts book like a different remap or a turbo, basics like the Aero kit in a different GT86 colour. In Europe it's a dealer fitted part that comes in the same colours as the car, so you can build a Toyota GT86 Aero in blue. If you want a TRD exhaust on the standard car? no problem it's on the order form. They even have the TRD member brace set as an option the same way we can add JBL sound as a Toyota fitted option. Our dealers just say it's not possible, putting the blame back on TGB saying they decide what can and cannot be sourced for the UK. Could I get a Toyota GT86 Aero in Blue in the UK? No. Can I in EU/JAP/AU/NZ? Yes. In Belgium it's a €1350 option, in the UK I can do it for £3500 by buying the replacement parts for £2200+vat+paint, but they cannot ship over a pre-painted blue kit because computer says no. 3 dealers supposedly asked TGB on my behalf why a blue Aero couldn't be built in the UK and NONE OF THEM got back to me. Cosworth tried to go down the official route, I'm sure they'd sell a few more cars if you could have a Cosworth badge on the car with a 5 year warranty.

    More upload space?

I upload to my own FTP host and post directly (old school!)... it also means if anyone hotlinks my photos using up my bandwidth I can change the photo to a pink Corsa Hate it when looking through a thread from a few years ago and the host has changed and the pictures gone.
