Hi, Several months ago, my clutch made a nasty squeaking/squawking noise when pressing and depressing the pedal. All signs pointed towards clutch release bearing. Took it to Fensport, they said same. They replaced the clutch - and the noise went. Problem solved. However, the noise is back after 2,000ish miles. I don't drive like an idiot, I don't ride my clutch, I don't go out drifting. I've never had a clutch fail on me before. This leads me to thinking maybe it never was the release bearing, and perhaps just the fork? I imagine when fensport replaced my clutch, they greased up the fork - which is why it didn't squeak after new clutch was put in. Any ideas? Really don't want to fork out more money on this if I don't have to.

I can hear it in the cabin right under my foot, bloody annoying!

Hello, I've not removed mine but have been in one that has had it removed and I could certainly tell the difference. I plugged mine up for now, need to get round to buying the hose that deletes it before I remove it though.

Okay, that's reassuring to know! Didn't want to dip into my NA package fund! Thanks for the help, much appreciated.
-
Okay, so it's not something you think is likely to develop into a bigger problem?

I called Fensport up and their suggestion was to give the car a good thrashing as it just may be the clutch not being bedded in yet. I'd have thought 2k miles it would be by now?!
-
Yes mate, that's exactly it. I did what he suggested in the video and greased the fork up, but I could only reach so much of it - perhaps I didn't do a good enough job?

Okay great, thank you. I best get shopping!

Cheers guys! Does it matter that the wheels are wider and have a different offset to standard? They're 7.5inch and 37 offset. Thanks

Car is booked in next weekend to get windows tinted and roof wrapped in black, can't wait. Also, quick question. My new alloys came with different wheels nuts as I believe they needed to be slightly longer. However, I wanted to get some new ones to colour match. What's the correct way to measure them so that I buy the correct ones? I knows there's thread and pitch to look at but that's right over my head.

Next up is getting my rear windows tinted and my roof wrapped in black. I'm 90% sure I'll be going for a gloss rather than black, but we shall see! Been quoted £240 all in, which seems like a good price to me. I was going to do the windows myself to save some money, but I remember how much of a pain in the ass it was and figured may as well get it done by a professional if I'm going to be paying for them to do the roof. Never had a roof wrapped before so I'm pretty excited to have it done!

Okay, I'll have a look! Fensport said 6-8 hours but was including wheel alignment, no idea what the breakdown of the time is! Definitely excited about the NA package then if there's an all you can eat breakfast nearby

Okay mate, thanks for that.

@Angelina yeah I think I will! I clayed and polished myself and got some of it out but bit on fence about putting a machine polisher in my incapable hands haha. Ah shell love a spa, top tip thanks!
-
Yeah was really happy with the price and they're in perfect condition too. Okay, maybe I'll look a bit more into springs then. Are there any specific ones you'd recommend? Okay cool, are there any specific ones you'd recommend?

Think I've spotted you recently mate! You'll have to let me know when you're next in Ely
-
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking it is! It's possible. I had it done at Fensport as they're 5 mins from me, so I'd trust they had done it properly but won't harm me to pop round there and get them to take a look

Hey, I've started to notice a burning smell after I've been driving for a while. Smells a little bit like clutch and burning rubber. My clutch is new and has done about 2k miles of mostly sensible driving. I spent most of today sat in traffic in the rain and could still smell it, so that doesn't suggest tyres to me. any ideas?

Saw this the other day I believe

Hold onto it mate. Take the N1 off when you sell car and sell that and put stock back on.
