Nice one! I did write to Richard asking about the Red and a P/X cost. He has no more info. I want the Toyota red but don't think that will happen. If not, i will wait for a special colour performance / Aero edition. I hope it will come in sooner or later.

Agree with above. Scarlet Red is toyota's red which tends towards Wine Red. Subaru is doing Track Bred which is an Orangey red. Highly unlikely they will be the same Red. I prefer the Toyota Red though personally and otherwise Subaru's World Rally Blue.. Neither of them will be options time time around, don't think.

Flywheel failure/noise is generally unheard of. So unless something strange has happened, its an unlikely answer. Like Church says post a video and definitely go back to the dealer to get it checked out as it should be in the extended 10 yr warranty provided it was serviced by Toyota regularly.

This is gold dust. So in summary: 1. 2.4L engine has same exhaust flanges and diameter of initial exit so an aftermarket manifold from 2.0 will easily and neatly bolt onto a 2.4 2. Even without a tune the torque dip is nearly eliminated, which means the 2.4 is a very similar engine to the 2.0, just a bit more displacement. That is probably expected but proven now. 3. The 2.4 factory manifold has wider exhaust runners to and from the cat end, so likely to make more power on a 2.0 car as well, if fitted. This will be covered in their next video, so lets see what happens.

Well done you! Enjoy your car. What mileage was on the car when the clutch started doing its thing? And what exactly was it doing which made you worry? and what exactly did you finally do - Change it ? Aftermarket or OE? Put some Dyno charts up , if you can. Always interesting to see the gains you got from the manifold. Happy motoring and watch out for Black Friday sales, if you are wanting more parts..

There is an element of consistency in design of GR products but also about cost saving. From the media reports, looks like the GR86 will be the entry car , the yaris the mid range and Supra their halo car, all from a pricing perspective Wheels are easily changeable so a good set of Rays will set them apart and take it back to JDM instead of German BBS ones [emoji3] [emoji6] I also see a huge advancement in safety and driver aids in Automatics which are effectively Subaru Eye Sight safety tech which is class leading. They have uprated both the manual and auto boxes. Not sure what the new levels are. Also the con rods are straight not at an angle, so they might no longer be the weak point. Sent from my SM-G781B using Tapatalk

Ouch. Never realised burglars are this daring at that time of morning to look around. He/ she/ they were clearly not just opportunistic thieves but clearly burglars. It's happened to my friend before. The car was left abandoned 4 miles away from his place on a residential street. This is the normal ploy , police said as after 2 weeks, police give a not found ( or something like that) certificate and insurance can pay out. So they don't drive it around till the case is hot. So my suggestion is to go around your local area especially on unsuspecting residential streets or free parking spots and look for your car. @GT86Reece Thank you for sharing your honest feedback and experience mate! This is what this forum is for. Not be a positive echo chamber but a honest feedback mechanism. It is unbelievable that you have had the car with TD for 16 mths ( 1 yr +) of its life and that the car drinks oil like petrol. Like others have said , you have 2 choices: 1. Ask you tuner to do 3 maps , 95 , 97 and 99 RON and use the right map based on fuel. A dyno run will show you the difference but I wouldn't expect a difference of more than 10 BHP from one tune to the other. 2. Carry an octane booster in the boot, Millers petrol power ecomax and use it to boost 97 to 99 Oct. When going forged, the fuel will be my last worry. At such high power levels , you need to think of more supporting mods like , gearbox, Differential, fuel pump, injectors, clutch etc as stock components cannot go that far or will get worn very quickly. Simply put,XF is a road car oil, EE is a road car + track day oil , CFS is a pure Race oil. Technically XF is a grade 3 oil, EE is a blended grade 3 oil with some Esters ( aka Grade 5), CFS is a grade 5 , pure Ester oil. Some specifics around gearbox from my link above , Source: Toyota US pressroom. For Manual Transmission (MT), the shape of the shift lever is optimized for smooth, enjoyable shifting, whether you’re moving from 2nd to 3rd or downshifting from 5th to 4th. Additionally, a carbon synchronizer was added to improve shifting into 4th gear. The MT uses new low-viscosity oil and bearings for smooth shifting operability with the higher torque output of the 2.4L boxer engine. For the Automatic Transmission (AT), when in Sport mode, the AT senses brake and accelerator operation and vehicle behavior to automatically shift into the optimal gear, bringing drivers the control they want. Additional clutch discs and a new high-capacity torque converter allow for smooth delivery of the engine’s added power.

Today was the day of media review release stateside for GR86 Check our cars results against Golf R And this Today was spent enjoying the future car..
