Yes. You are welcome to test it on your dyno, if you so wish. Sent from my SM-G781B using Tapatalk

Good point, well made but lets get it into context. In the context of the capability of the car, the engine and other parts will give up far sooner than the Supercharger will reach its limits even with smaller pulley. It is about right sizing, not over sizing. Also refer to point 2 below, where Harrop will hit its limits far sooner. Now that you get technical, lets put more things on the table for you to think through: 1. Ever wondered why Harrop need 0.7 bar to make the same power with a bigger blower while the Cossie does it with 0.5 bar with a smaller blower? The intake runners are not optimally sized in Harrop (short). 2. Even though Harrop is designed in OZ, why are their intercooler cores a lot smaller and their high power car runs E85 not premium unleaded? The E85 is because the IAT will go very high on Harrop without it and you will pull timing and get knock before you hit your Blower limits For most common folks who just want a bolt on kit and more powah!, it is much of a muchness, but for the initiated, these things are imperative.

When Cosworth designed the kit the front inlet based TVS 900 did not exist. Harrop came in a bit later, so had the front inlet based Eaton option. The intake pipe made of aluminium and not silicone hose, shows the commitment to quality and looks amazing to me My understanding is Cosworth have changed strategy to come off aftermarket parts and kits, they now do a full end to end projects for manufacturers and racing teams. Not for the consumer after market. Undeniably so. That is the fun of choice for consumer.

Thank you Mark. That's a great start to acknowledge that Cossie has smaller losses. On the looks department, they are very subjective and i have good forum friends who use this kit , so i dont want to get too judgemental. On balance, i prefer the clean no pipe design of the Cosworth SC. Harrop has too many flex pipes coming out. The pictures speaks a thousand words. Are you saying having a test car is sufficient evidence that Harrop have been as thorough in their design? I am very keen to see them talking / writing about them having engine dynos (not chassis or hub dynos please) which Cosworth has from their F1 experience and the engine being tested for 10000 hrs on full load vs no load for 30 sec interval each. If Harrop had done this kind of work, i would imagine it would be all over their marketing to show their prowress and i have seen none. Individual cylinder pressure tailoring, calling out reliable power limits and their mathematical simulation software used for it, what are the weak points/failure points are, limiting factors are all signify amazing engineering and thorough R&D. Cosworth support the kit with tunes which they personally remote tune for every customer, whether the first owner or later. I have never seen this level of customer support and focus on perfection! A company with one third the size (revenue, resources, people) has the same credentials and ability to test is something you are saying and i find it very hard to comprehend. And on this note, i will carefully say that i am not slating Harrop but saying car industry (including aftermarket) is a highly resource intensive industry. There is a reason why Cosworth is used by Aston Martin to make the Valkyrie engine and Gordon Murray not Harrop unfortunately. And with this, i rest my case!

Buy a Cosworth used as they no longer make it. Exactly the same as Harrop and better in my view with more R&D, smaller losses. Its a TVS 900 , not 1320. If you are serious, I can try and find the guy who had a brand new kit and wanted to sell it at full price (£5250 IIRC). Or join the Facebook buy and sell group and ask for it yourself. The sensor values look something like this on Carista. Either the sensors you buy need to be configured from this or in reverse, you can configure your ecu through carista to pick the values from new tpms sensors ( provided you know them) Sent from my SM-G781B using Tapatalk

To answer your questions: 1. Going 17 * 8 is a good choice to not compromise driveability and get a bit more width. 2. Japan Racing are not top quality wheels but are OK. I would doubt if the wheels are lighter than stock ( which are made by Enkei and Flow Formed). Ask the retailer for the weight of the wheels. 3. Its ok to buy any brand of tyres and having a preference for less sticky rubber is personal choice. I think what winterhalder meant was dont for cheap brands. Use one of the premium tyre manufacturers and you will have good safe tyres. Michelin, Goodyear, Dunlop, Bridgestone, Continental are all quality brands. 225/45 is a very common size and the tyres are actually cheaper than 215/45 ones. 4. You will need the TPMS swapped over from old to new wheels or buy a new set of TPMS and get them cloned. Each TPMS sensor has a code. If you want to not invest much money, you can download Carista App on your phone and any bluetooth OBD 2 dongle. If you buy the carista dongle , you get carista premium free for 1 mth. If you buy pre configured TPMS sensors, you need to change them on your car, so that the ECU module reads it right.

Is anyone forced induction and still passing emissions tests legitimately?

The OE clutch is a bit of lottery after going FI as every application exceeds the max torque limits. Sent from my SM-G781B using Tapatalk -

Professionally weighed at a weigh scale. Full on with sound deadening. Just boot before , during and after for reference. If I close my doors , it sounds like an S class ( exaggerating a bit but you get my drift). Go big or go home. Sent from my SM-G781B using Tapatalk -

Want more data , if you relish as you mention weight. My car has a full size spare in boot ( 19 kg) and 25 KG + of sound deadening. Inspite of that only 1307 KG without driver and a full tank of fuel. 55 - 45 weight distribution. What more data would you like [emoji12] What cannot be measured cannot be managed. Enjoy the dyno and now dont ask what 2.0 and 2.3 means. Search on the forums or Google and you can find it. Sent from my SM-G781B using Tapatalk -

Ill talk you through when we meet but in summary: 1. You can potentially pass MOT with one Cat but not legally. Different as you know. Mine failed with only second cat on TD manifold. Its not a gaurantee, remember, its likely based on CAT temp and its health. CATS go down with age and usage , so you cannot fully trust this unless you have both CATS. 2. You might need supporting mods but not definitely as each car is different. Some clutches fail at 270 bhp while others hold up till 300. Things that are under consideration should be Clutch, Fuel Pump, Injectors, Tyres (Brake atleast pads and discs) or BBK. So they are nice to do alongside. Some people also want Temp/ Boost gauges etc to ensure they always keep a tab on the vital parameters. 3. With Turbo, as Will pointed out, very few kits remain that can let you have both CATS intact and AFAIK, over a year or two, your CAT will degrade, so it will not hold on long term. It is a bit of a slippery slope in terms of cost unfortunately and you need to be ready for supporting mods sooner or later. -
Thank you Jay. More comfort , less noise and heavier steering is a great summary. What about MPG? Thank you. You've helped me decide on moving up on that one. Sent from my SM-G781B using Tapatalk

Invidia N1 is mega loud , too anti neighbour. Invidia Q300 is the quietest , Gemini R400( IIRC) is middle of line and N1 ASBO. All three are top quality exhausts and I will highly recommend the brand. You don't need to go to TD ,get them to ship it and get it installed locally. Super res is quiet, res a bit loud. If you keep both cats on then it's fine but if you plan on changing the manifold at a later date , go super res. Quality not as good as Invidia but decent stuff. Then there is Remus and Hayward and Scott who make top exhausts as well. The list goes on so listen to a few and make up your mind. Resonated removes drone at certain frequencies, mostly when you are cruising at a certain fixed speed/ rpm like on the motorway. Sent from my SM-G781B using Tapatalk

If you are using this to justify your need for black/ grey wheels, get yours refurbished and powder coated in a colour of your choice. Problem solved! Sent from my SM-G781B using Tapatalk

PM sent , for wheels! -
Its a change of tyre compound + a taller sidewall. So together they should make a lot of difference to comfort compared to the hard rubber of the primacy. How much is the compound and how much the sidewall is a bit of a guess.

Nice one. Can you genuinely feel the better comfort? Tell us more on this after a few weeks of usage please as i am very keen on this one benefit.

Invidia Q300 is a great catback , if that is Road legal. Can't compare it with your brand as I have never heard that one. Sent from my SM-G781B using Tapatalk

Exactly right. Do you have a Cosworth kit? They have done their R&D on the platform thoroughly. From their install install user manual, details attached. But like I say the best way to validate it for personal circumstances is to see your specific car's AFR calculated vs measured and see if it is running Lean. Unless you are ok to add the supporting mod for peace of mind. The fuel filter is due a replacement at 80K miles , so along with spark plug, that's some preventive maintenance you can do/get done early Martin. Sent from my SM-G781B using Tapatalk
-
There is a very easy way to know if the pump is at its limits. If you have any obd2 sensor like Torque Pro, then check values of AFR calculated and afr measured. If the measured is a higher number than calculated , then its running lean, aka fuel pump is at its limits. Don't modify/ add a higher capacity pump and / or injectors without checking this and validating. Sent from my SM-G781B using Tapatalk

Great choice on coilpacks. Which plugs will they be - HKS or OE? I think OE are Denso made. Sent from my SM-G781B using Tapatalk

All because you tried to go sideways on public roads [emoji16][emoji2] Learn that on a track as a drift day! Power corrupts , absolute power corrupts absolutely. So stay stock and learn the car. It's plenty for now. [emoji3060] Sent from my SM-G781B using Tapatalk
