Review: RRG Macc MY2015 GT86 Aero with tuning parts
Neil_turbo replied to Lauren's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
I also had the pleasure of this last week :-) many thanks Richard! As you say the noise from the intake and exhaust combination is fantastic and just come alive at the top end. Unbelievable how much more attention the spoiler brings when driving around! Also some people in trouble at work for saying they preferred this one! -
Forgot about this little mod from last summer as well.... I bought the kit direct from China, so had to recruit Mark to help mod the voltage droppper to stop the image being blurry! IIRC one of these resistors needed removing... took Mark all of 30 seconds, but was an excellent excuse for a BBQ! and all installed....
-
After almost months of ownership, and a few more mods starting to sneak in, thought I best start a project thread..... So for those who joined here in the last year, i bough the car off Rich, and it was the RRG demo, and it came with a good few mods already on it.... Mods already on the car.... TRD Spolier and JP exhausts quad pipe back box with secondary decat, overpipe and supersprint centre TRD front Strut brace and underbody brace set TRD door braces TRD Push Start Injen induction

Yeah it was a big decision, but I have always wished the interior could have been a bit better from the factory. At least I get to do it my way now though! Figured I spend more time in the car than looking at it from the outside so why not start there on this one! Leaving the performance side until next year as I'm focusing on the MR2 for that side this year!

haha! with the weekend being the only time i am getting on the drive, all sunlight hours are spent digging trenches in clay to try and sort my flooding issues (living next to a field doesnt help!) My hoover would drown outside at the moment! Only a few more weeks until we have light evenings back!
-
I had also bought the TRD boot set to continue the red stripe theme! Also black buttons (aka poverty spec for Lauren!) as all silver is now being removed! From this to this The TRD surround is pressed, bushed aluminium and sits over the original panel. Fit is very good, but does not (and would struggle to) go around the buttons, so there is very small (maybe 2mm) area around the buttons where you can still see the silver. As such i haven't taped this in place yet. Need to trial red or black for this bit before committing! And finally to this... Very pleased!! (and yes the car needs cleaning - I'm resurfacing my drive so everything is filthy at the moment!

Next up was the interior. I spent quite a while looking at different options, including some carbon covers i could get quite cheaply whilst in China, however i kept going back to the Baruta panels in had seen from Japan. In the end decided i wouldnt be happy with anything else so went for these... These are absolute faultless quality, and come as replacement panels, so no messing around having to stick on. They are difficult to photo without over exposing the red! in reality a very deep and rich red! Parts ordered were - Dials surround This was fiddly to install, as the leatherette from the steering column is clipped onto it using the 4 clips you can see at the bottom. Centre panel and Stereo surround Vent surrounds Side panels These were simple to install once i had established you need to remove the centre console! These are the only panels in the car with a alacantra finish, and was worried they would look out of place, but Baruta did not do a carbon and red stripe version!

My first mod on the carwas to fit the TRD aero fins and rear side spoilers..... Original panels removed And installed Rear fins and then installed

Great news Toni!!!!!
-

-
Toni DOOOOOO ITTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you really will not regret it! (especially now there is no MC8 to burn a hole in your pocket :-P) Neil

Unfortunately I have house priorities this year, so i'm not doing anything! we certainly need an update form Mike though!
-
Reliable track car?!?! You will have to elaborate for me on that one.... :-P hopefully after last years rebuild i can join you on that one this year though!
-
Just checked my costs - was just over £1k including boost control solenoid, 10 position map switch and D9 comms cable foir the M4. I run closed loop on lambda and no pro features like launch control (struggle for somewhere to point the wheel speed sensor!!) Looks like prices for base ECU have gone up over the last 5 years! If you are planning on using all of these i guess the DTA could offer a good cost saving!
-
Completely agree Dave, no one else maps my cars either! My motec was nowhere near 2k, though guess it depends on what model you are looking at! (though since i bought mine looks like the M4 has been discontinued )
-
Seems like quite a major build Dave! Wonder if you will manage to stick to no Motec plans though!!
-
looks very nicely made and braced!

Rob I heard from him this week on some parts I am looking at. He had quite a long break after NY and didn't return until 10th IIRC Neil -
Any news on GB prices?
-
Thanks Mike, I have decided I will be going forced induction in 2016 (so much for staying standard) and very tempted by this kit
-
I definitely need to follow progress on this one Mike, keep us all updated!
-
I have ordered the double version, been waiting about 10 days so far :-) no rush though as still need to order the gauges!
