Wanted - cobra res cat back
willclarke replied to willclarke's topic in Wanted GT86 / BRZ Cars and Parts
Thanks, I'll eventually do manifold too but for now a little more noise would be good. Hopefully the others can point me in the right direction, cheers Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk -
Eyeing up a cobra back box and a TD resonated mid pipe to put together, and generally wondered will most systems just fit together provided the bore is the same? Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

Thanks for clearing that up I just thought that the cobra would be a nicer sound from vids. (TD res isn't actually as pricey as I thought) Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

Hi Hanslow I didnt realise how loud these were (even with resonators on mid pipe?!?!) - i think ill pass and look for something quieter, but thanks for the offer Cheers
-
I'm just about to order one of these myself - Fensport advised it was 3 hours labour at £50+VAT (therefore £180 fitting) Think this is a bit steep personally so will try install myself - hoping i don't need to be very electrically minded for this?? also, is point 4 been sorted on more recent kits anybody?
-
Cool - is it pretty obvious from the rear of the car? And whats the picture like? Cheers

Cool, I'm pretty un-electrical, are you running an earth to the frame? Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

Did you get this sorted in the end? Just about to take the plunge on the fensport one! Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

The na would keep to the cars natural characteristics..[emoji4] Otherwise I'd sc over turbo for a next step Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

I could be tempted if the op isn't! Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

That's pretty loud still! Sounds good. Am i right in saying if you got catless uel manifold you'll throw a check engine light if you dont get it mapped out ?
-
Looks nice! I'm peterborough so a little way from you, but hope you get plenty of waves as you pass another 86/brz!

I'd love to get a cat-back in first, but reading around it seems like most cat-backs will be too noisey with a decatted uel manifold too - for daily use. There'll be a few early morning starts which i'm pretty sure will end up with a neighbours brick through the windscreen. the invidia q300 or something is apparently quiet, but others have left as stock (hence the OP) and its a good balance? What are your thoughts? If the overpipe is close to the induction hose i imagine there'd be some heatsoak which would probably sap a few horses, something that could be sorted DIY'ey though I imagine. Already bought a K&N filter today - wonder if TD would take that off the price. I guess bottom line is that its handy to do this in bits (due to spend) instead of one go - just lookign for the best value parts, and the order in which to do them of course (good point about the remap and catback @Lowe )
-
Yeh, I saw fensport who are nearby would do a bespoke map + license for about 530, and I've had a cobra cat back on my 370z which I was very pleased with, build quality seemed good enough to me. The only thing I can think of in addition is the overpipe, but I can't imagine it's definitely needed to have an aftermarket one against a cat less header for decent gains?
-
Thanks, £1400 seems steep for the package though? Or do you need the over pipe too? (will the header not fit the stock over pipe?)
