Can anyone list all the differences? I have a brochure from 2015 but neither trim level is even mentioned! The Subaru Range Price List that came with it does list both but doesn't say what the differences are other than the on the road price - £22,495 and £23,995 respectively.

Differences between BRZ SE and BRZ SE Lux?
Lussoman replied to Lussoman's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
I think I need to rename this thread 'How do you operate the heated seats?' LOL! It's simply 'off', '1', '2', or '3' on my Alfa - no heat to lots of heat; simples... -

Ah, now I understand; sadly full leather's never been available on a BRZ AFAIK. -

Thanks for the feedback BRZ-123. As you allude to, service history and number of previous owners are very important to me, and as it's not mentioned, probably not great on both counts. I may call them. That said, companies like Evans Halshaw routinely 'advertise' (more like 'list') cars with minimal information, usually giving just colour and price. Everything else is simply listing standard spec and no juicy information for the actual individual car. They must not employ sales people anymore! -
Differences between BRZ SE and BRZ SE Lux?

This is the SE car that prompted me to post: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/202001226428347?price-to=20000&advertising-location=at_cars&make=SUBARU&postcode=pr29wx&seller-type=trade&radius=1500&model=BRZ&sort=datedesc&maximum-mileage=35000&onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=New&transmission=Manual&page=1 One of the cheapest blue ones I've seen, and with a very low mileage. A year or two older than what I really want, but I am tempted. It's the first one I've seen for ages that's within about a two hour drive of home. The dealer has a very naff-sounding name, but they do have great reviews. -

So you're saying cloth-covered heated seats were also available? I'd assumed it was just on the Lux's leather/alcantara upgrade. -

How unusual about the seats only heating up if you're sat there. I say unusual, it may be normal and that way on my current car. I've never noticed in 9 years of ownership! -

Thanks for your insight Church. I have heated seats in my current car (Alfa Spider), and they're leather, so very cold in winter until the heating eventually becomes noticeable, which is usually when I'm almost at my destination - I do a lot of 'local' driving. So certainly not essential for me. -
Differences between BRZ SE and BRZ SE Lux?

Many thanks all. Seems it's pretty much just the seats then. I'm looking to buy (have been for a long time on and off!) a used WR Blue one, manual, low mileage. Obviously I'd try and get the best spec possible, but I now know I'll not be missing out on too much if I finish up with an SE. -
Adverts on Auto Trader have recently started showing lower fuel economy figures for facelifted BRZs/GT86s. It was just the Blue Edition of the GT86 until the last few months for some reason. It's the manual versions I'm interested in by the way. My BRZ info from Subaru from both 2015 and 17 (pre-facelift and facelift) show near identical figures. So what's happened? Official 2015 figures are 27.2, 44.1, 36.2 (urban, extra urban, combined). 2017 figures are 27.2, 44.8, 36.2. Auto Trader figures for the later cars are 23.4, 42.8, 32.8. For the GT86, only the combined figure is now given - 33.23. Anyone know what's going on? I know these figures are academic, but they are useful for comparison purposes between different models from different manufacturers.

To reiterate, I'm curious as to why there's marked differences in published figures. Thanks for the comments. Clearly it's a sports car and most will choose to drive it as such at least some of the time; ergo no two individuals are ever going to get the same average. My current steed averages around the mid-20s mpg over all types of driving, and is in the second-from-top tax band. Part of the attraction of the BRZ/GT86 is the 'possibility' of seeing a clear improvement over that at times when I might want to see an improvement, e.g. long trips with the other half, whilst still enjoying spirited driving at other times.

That does sound impressive Martin. There seems to be a good number of owners reporting better-than-quoted figures. Just what I wanted to hear!

Thanks spikyone, I wasn't aware of the new test procedure, so that explains a lot.

Thank you both. I'm curious to know what the owner's manual states for 2017 MY onwards (facelift) cars, given that my pricelist/specification sheet from Subaru UK gives near identical figures to the earlier cars. Presumably GT86 will be the same.

I've been monitoring '86 prices over the last 18 months or so and TRDs are always advertised at roughly a minimum £2k premium above the standard models. I'd guess you'd get a little over £16k privately; maybe advertise at £16,750?

The car linked to has had 4 previous owners and only part service history. No wonder Evans Halshaw's ad lacked all the important information. And no reason given as to why it's been readvertised. I'll not be bothering.

I've been looking for a WR Blue BRZ on and off for a while now, and noticed this has been re-advertised a week or so after I thought it'd been sold https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201808179598420?maximum-mileage=45000&radius=1500&postcode=pr29wx&advertising-location=at_cars&seller-type=trade&sort=datedesc&make=SUBARU&onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=New&price-to=17000&model=BRZ&transmission=Manual&page=1 It has non-standard wheels, and the rear tail lights are different to the brochure for that model year. Is this sort of thing fairly common, or is it even a grey import? Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Many thanks knightryder. I'm still learning about these cars and their mods. I've driven nothing but Alfa Romeos for the past 15 years and attempting to improve on the Italian's design sense was always a no-no! The wheels and tail lights on that BRZ definitely add to the looks IMHO.
