Wrong. Confused in your old age? "Negative toe, or toe out, is the front of the wheel pointing away from the centerline of the vehicle. Positive toe, or toe in, is the front of the wheel pointing towards the centerline of the vehicle" Camber is relative to the bottom of the wheel (contact patch), not the top. Negative camber is contact patch away from the centreline, positive is nearer.

Varta batteries can be had at the moment for ~£65. That's a bargain as they are considered the next best below an AGM, which are all £150+.
-
If the battery is dead you'd expect it to try and turn over, mine just clicked away, dash goes dim etc. Yours sounds like what happens when phones are too near the fob or some other interference.

Sub 300 Aftermarket Manifold on eBay
Kodename47 replied to sazabiskythe's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
Probably the same one. I had a cheap China exhaust rock up in a Japspeed box, not bought from Japspeed I had another of the same exhaust turn up branded Direnza. That's the same Q300 rep that is everywhere on eBay under different names. The cheapest decent manifolds are Tomei/Invidia/Cobra if you don't want the TD and an EL system. -
My 65Ah battery just bit the dust. Started on Saturday after being on charge, didn't start on Sunday. Put on charge again, wouldn't start 5 mins after being taken off charge 24 hours later.

Another one to add in time for some NYE parties This one done for a DJ competition, 1st mixtape in a while....

Sub 300 Aftermarket Manifold on eBay
Kodename47 replied to sazabiskythe's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
General consensus stateside is that these are likely to be similar to the OEM manifold performance wise. Cheap generic stuff out of China, will come under loads of different "Brands" and the collectors are likely to be poor/non-existent, -
The key here is that it's destroked. That plus oil work and valve springs you could probably get it to work, but even replacement oil pump sets don't seem to hold up well on the FA20.

If you ignore the passenger...... how to drive the circuit
-
Thruxton is fast. I don't think they do many trackdays a year, but I've driven a Cayman and Formula Renault around there. They seem to do the track experience stuff and actual racing, when I was there Tiff Needell was there doing passenger laps. I really enjoyed it however I feel that was partly due to the single seater experience, being able to walk around supercars is grin inducing experience, I was only overtaken by Tiff in an M3..... going sideways iaround me into Cobb From memory it has decent run off and it's all about getting the car balanced around the long fast corner sections. This isn't me but a good view of what to expect....

Wanted roots type supercharger (used)
Kodename47 replied to Stephan's topic in Wanted GT86 / BRZ Cars and Parts
Aye. PD blowers tend to shine on the road more so than the track. That's not to say that a Centri is better on track, the Harrop and Cosworth blowers have definitely shown their worth. -
Was that just when calling for quotes or for a renewal? Happened both this year and last when asked who my renewal offer was with and was told the same from a couple of brokers.
-
I sometime think changing from a stock to modified requires a different type of policy. I remember trying to change from a modified CRX to a standard basic Accord and the policy shot up as the car wasn't modified and I was on a policy was catered towards modified cars. Seems barmy but it happens.

Having just renewed I'm always amazed the differences between companies. Greenlight have always been useless and I might as well give up with them but seems others have success. My annoyance this year was that they told me I couldn't have the named driver as a SDP&C when I'm only SDP as that's fronting and that no-one underwrites that, despite me telling them that I've been covered like that for many years. Their response, I must be wrong and that I should check my policy to which I pointed out that I was reading my policy, but they were still adamant that wasn't possible. Their quote for just SDP was over £100 more than the rest and I'd have to add commuting temporarily if required at extra cost. My policy is with ERS through Adrian Flux, I managed to get a comparable quotes with CK (Highway) and AIB (Markerstudy) which all said the above was rubbish and confirmed they would cover my needs. I now know that despite using similar underwriters, different brokers can't undercut on the same underwriter which can limit options. I'm shocked about partial wraps though, the Modification Declaration Form I just filled in was pretty comprehensive with all kinds of sections for body mods.

I would say that video is heavily biased and none of the BMWs were on tyres that work. Working in an environment that is split between tarmac and off road, I know even a Hilux struggles in a muddy field if running road tyres and not ATs.

http://www.stoptech.com/products/rotors/centric-premium-rotors About £100 for the rears....

£400 bump?!? I'm about to renew and pay less than £400 for my SC'd car. I think the worst quotes I had a few years back were only £600-ish and that included having my "risky" girlfriend (age+experience) on the policy.

From what I've read is that socks are very good but will wear through quickly when not on any decent snow. Although for the cost I wouldn't worry too much about that.

Why would a cat-back make any difference? It has nothing to do with emissions. Also aprobably not best to post that about a vendor on a public forum.... A HFC will work fine IF the quality of the cat is good. The issue is that decent quality catalytic converters cost a lot of money. Look at the one that H&S offer, it's £600. That would certainly pass an MOT year after year, was designed to keep road legal if removing running a non-catted manifold. Cobra now make one that should work no issues, speak to @Mark@Abbey M/S about one of those. The Berk one is from the USA and no doubt uses a cheaper ceramic brick hence that's why it is much cheaper.
-
Or downright scary when pouring with rain and in an M4 I've also driven it in a bone stock GT86 (a TGB car) in the dry though on my 1st time round the circuit and it's a good car as it's not too fast. I know @tegunulgener managed to gravel trap one of the cars on the same day though
-
The track is great but also not for the feint of heart as there is very little run off with it being an old track and it's quite fast on some of the corners. Also it's always quite a pricey circuit and one of the more strict ones, noise is an issue there hence the 10 car on track limit.

They use the wrong type of hose, most silicone hosing isn't suitable for oils/fuels etc from what I've read and has been a known issue with these types of kit. The universal doesn't come with hoses so I'll do my own in correctly spec'd rubber hoses, probably works out cheaper anyway and can do them in braided to match my Sprintex hoses or plain to match OEM. The only other one I'd consider is the Saikou Michi but that's quite a bit extra money and you have to get it in from the USA (hint hint Lucas). Almost all of the other cheaper ones aren't baffled.

I have supercharger, the pipework would be useless as would the bracket. I already have 1 but want a 2nd.

Been playing with the app recently. They are continually updating it and it now has Dashboards, basically gauges, which can be setup and customised and with logging speeds the same or better than standard ProECU on the laptop. This makes it much easier to use and a world away from using Torque etc. Anyway, below are a couple of themes that I have been testing/creating over the last week. For reference these are on a Google Pixel, different size screens like tablets/iPads etc allow for different configurations. Futuristic I'd seen a similar one for the GTR so this was my 1st attempt. GT86 You can have multiple screens on one theme that increases the logging parameters and accessed by swiping across, as seen here. Gazoo Racing Bye bye TRD, GR are the new official tuning arm of Toyota. Abbey Motorsport Thought I'd do one for my favourite garage too.

We're waiting on a new update from EcuTek that will improve the setup and free up some custom maps. I have them all used on mine, so I have to lose features to test or map them. I have it ready to go in principle, just not sure how I test it on the road I'll leave that to @Mark@Abbey M/SS as he's a fair bit more handy behind the wheel.
