Sorted: OEM Intake Duct
Kodename47 replied to Kodename47's topic in Wanted GT86 / BRZ Cars and Parts
Sorted! Thanks to @Mike@TD.co.uk -
Just wondering if someone has one of these laying around after an intake change etc? I'm after the part that goes behind the bumper that goes into the front of the airbox.

That opinion is formed on the basis of part of the UK car scene, we're only a small part of the world. @Church is also not from the UK..... I don't quite know how you form the idea that the majority of the world likes something from 80 odd owners in the UK.... I do agree that the market for being "Slammed" outweigh those that would want rally style/OEM height suspension, but it does exist and the options are limited.

GT86 Club Series Limited Editions
Kodename47 replied to Riceburner's topic in RRG Macclesfield (Toyota)
From Ian's post, I guess not. It's the PP option that the other markets get added to the CS edition. -
I still have the stock ARBs, it's fine like that.
-
I have the Litchfield springs on their own. I'm happy with it. I'm sure a coilover kit could be more comfortable, but this is similar to stock, looks better (I like the raked look) and handles better than OEM too.

Yup Part 17750A -
I made a comment, then realised that I had misread.....

Edit: Should have paid attention

If you go look at any decent I4/I6 manifold you'll see that the runner lengths will vary slightly, it's all in the tuning of the design. It's just an easier example to see visually but obviously the same applies here. Actually to say they shouldn't be exactly equal is wrong as it comes down to the design parameters and goals but I'd imagine it's pretty hard to get a 100% equal length without long primaries and the space complexities it brings on this platform. On this specific manifold, the slight variance in runners will likely help provide a spread of torque across the power band while the 4-1 will also mean it keeps it until high RPM.
-
Or flex in the block or exhaust system? Probably not a bad idea to give it some give to prevent stress on the manifold. The OEM has the flexi sections. Could be tollerance based but may not be. It would be cheaper for them not to, but then It has a heavy cat hanging on it so I'd guess it's more to prevent failures.
-
OEM is 42.7mm primary to 45mm secondary (diameter).
-
It's about as UEL as the stock one and looks the same as the Injen one, which is sold as an equal length manifold. No manifold should be exactly equal length anyway, but if you compare to the usual UEL options the left side has much longer primaries. Tarmac also sell the Injen.... It's cheaper too. See above, same as that. Flex join on the collector end rather than the primaries.
-
That looks fairly equal length to me.....

No, just the European models that didn't.... and autos everywhere.

Carbon effect tail and head light eyebrows

That's my car in the photo..... -
The good old AVCS issue raises its head again. Wonder how many will suffer this outside of warranty....
-
What were the symptoms?
-
On the one I have you can loosen a nut to move the camera housing. Although that does seem to give you a decent wide view of the rear bumper, which you may lose if you set it more horizontal.

Kerbed already, manufacturer says they can't offer a paint code..

Wheel manufacturer.... -
It will, but all that is is a metal pipe to replace the OEM rubber one.... it's not an induction kit as the OEM airbox and filter remains. If you want to do that there are the silicone options for cheaper.
-
That's a little scathing. There are decent dealers out there, RRG is a good example and I would trust mine. However that is a little pricey. What needs to be done: Service Schedule Oil & Filter Brake Fluid Diff Oil Pollen Filter Some do Gear Oil but the schedule I've seen is 4 years on a manual. Was it definitely overfilled? The dipstick reads differently on both sides.... it's the lower of the 2.

Good to hear you're still enjoying it. Wonder whether it's worth posting this up on the FT86Club Edelbrock thread, might get their attention http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=93718 Steve
