What colour is your car? Black will just look like you haven't bothered to paint them and just stuck them on as most skirts come in black. Unless your car is black, in which case the Matt look will just appear odd against the glossy bodywork. I'd save yourself the Plastidip as you'll need a few cans.

Given that the claimed increases in the MY17 performance, I reckon that most of that is from the improved exhaust manifold and the increased panel filter size. Even if it's 5bhp, it's £100 per bhp.... that's a fair whack!
-
Most of those are cat-back systems, unless it states otherwise (like the mufflers). The cat-back is probably the most influential towards sound as it's the majority of the system.
-
Proper side skirts should be the same colour as the bodywork.

The engine is not the same, but the bolt-ons are. For the cost of the red manifold, you'd be crazy to bother fitting one. There's little to no proven gains on it that I've seen. If it's cosmetic, just buy some red paint (wrinkle paint would look good) and spray the original one.

I would always expect a Japanese car to be more expensive than a Ford and the French offerings and a little cheaper than the German ones. Just looking at the Clio, it's pretty much bang on £20k, but add the Cup and Climate Packs and some nice paint and you're at £22k, the Trophy is £22.5 before any extras.

Given the Mini JCW is £24k before options, this won't have any options (or no necessary ones) so I guess it's not really overpriced.

Unbranded exhaust on eBay - anyone have experience of them
Kodename47 replied to ThatGuyThere's topic in Mechanical
I would avoid a cheap overpipe! You don't know who they copied and whether it's RHD compatible. The OP on RHD is very snug so I would go for a reputable tried and tested solution. The Cobra one is good value. As for FP, then that seems like it could be used. -

I was going to say that mine has lasted longer than the average Miltek. I could replace it 5 times before I paid the same as one too.... -

I'll admit that it does seem that quality is a little variable as in the fit isn't consistent and may need some work. Hence that I'd be happy to risk ~£100/150 for one but not £300+. At least if it needs a little work then it's not already cost you a bomb. TBH if you're spending that much you might be able to pick up a decent 2nd hand system. I know that all sounds like I'm being pessimistic but I actually like mine. Having read about this on forums here and in the States I made an informed decision that I would buy if I could get it cheap and set my budget to ~£120 IIRC. At the time there were a fair few on auctions that started at 99p, I bid on a couple as a few went for more than I was willing to pay and then I ended up with 2. However I can't see any of the auctions at the moment but they do pop up from time to time. -

£300!?! I paid ~1/3 of that and TBH I wouldn't pay any more. Sounds fine, it's a quiet exhaust like the authentic Q300. I sold on a 2nd that I bought and the fitment was a little different between them. Mine protrudes a little more on one side than the other when hot, barely noticeable when cold. It did take a little work to get it to hang straight but then the same can be said about any exhaust to some extent, as is the way the systems go together. This is the generic Chinese made exhausts, one of mine came unbranded in a Japspeed box, the 2nd came in an unbranded box with Direnza logos on the tips. Both were identical apart from that. Both were exactly the same on the auction so it seems pot luck with what you actually get. It's also not 2.5" but it is larger diameter than OEM. -
The light sensor for the headlights is on the passenger side. The "missing" one is for LHD cars.

Agree, I had a mate who had one. Also another who currently has the T-Sport 190 version, I believe they're the same bar the engine. It's his comfy car, he has a CRX for fun stuff and admits it's a world away from my EK9. I was more making the point about Toyota having already supercharged the 2ZZ, I assume that this is basically the same thing in the Yaris. That's no bad thing but should make it an cheap for them to do so.
-
There is no previous model FWD Toyota that I'd consider. Don't forget that the SC'd 2ZZ was also in the Corolla TTE
-
I'd speculate that it's Gazoo's input. No idea why but they know a thing or 2 about racing and dynamics. Plus Toyota have history with putting a supercharger on the 2ZZ so I guess that this is a much easier (cheaper) option than a TC.

I think it's a very cool super-mini! It's annoying that the GRMN86 is so bloody expensive.

If you're going to be doing track driving I'd get all the undertrays back on

Pistonheads Sunday Service 2017 (Silverstone 29/10/17)

I'd say that's definitely likely. They are both designed to smooth airflow under the car and it does attach to the metal tray. If you remove the metal tray, you lose the main fixing points and then subject it to turbulent air. -
It lists the Pilot Sport, PS2 and PS3. Therefore PS4 is not on the list.

Unnecessary extra heat due to placement, no real advantage over a decent spec'd single turbo, like a twin scroll. For the cost of an extra turbine I would expect that getting a variable vane system operational would be a better solution. I can understand a twin setup if you run 2 banks of cylinders as you get the separation of the manifolds and more cylinders per turbine. This is very much something done for the sake of it, not because it's optimal.

I bet the weight helps. The HPs seemed less lively on the A3, which I attributed to more weight especially over the driven wheels. It would be interesting to see the 3s on the 86, but for the money there are proven better tyres so it's going to be a rare choice.

Can you even see the M through the grille? I don't get this mod....

Is that the Brighton dealers? There's a couple of us based over Eastbourne way.
