Circular thingy sticking at random intervals

The AC clutch is quite loud on this car..... the bonnet insulation partially does it's job to hide it from the outside. Mine must sound poorly to others with no bonnet insulation, AC clonking, SC whining, injectors clicking,,,,, thank god I don't have the crickets.
  2. I might be up for that too

    Dashcams

Did the same with the other half's Audi and agree, it's really discreet.

Agree with this. Good to have oil temp on display too.

    Ferrari Engine swap!

The problem with the H6 is that it's no easier than any other foreign motor so you could argue that a V8 would be more obvious. I did look at the EZ30 or similar a while back.

No, it's not. The reason the torque dip is felt is that BHP drops due to the loss of torque. Look at the new BHP graph, it doesn't drop. You wouldn't notice it, especially on the ones with a 4.3 FD. Toyota/Subaru don't do a DCT, it's too heavy for this platform too I'd imagine. However, as per PH: The god-awful automatic doesn't get these power and torque boosts, so right-minded sorts will of course still avoid the so-called '6 Super ECT' unit. There's something interesting here though: Toyota also lists a '6 SPDS' gearbox in the price list, of which it currently makes no mention of in the update details. SPDS is, a la Lexus IS F, 'sport direct shift', which in the rorty V8 uses torque converter lock-up in second gear and above to speed up shifts. It blips on downshifts as well, and has paddleshifts. Is this coming to the revised GT86 and might we at last consider something other than the manual? One to watch.

    Ferrari Engine swap!

Slight difference..... scrapyard motor vs one worth more than your entire car

    Dashcams

Surprised no-one has mentioned any of the Mini 803/805s available from eBay/Amazon. Dirt cheap, tiny and always come out well recommended.

Be VERY careful who you buy parts from

Seeing as you're having these issues, are you really bothered about having a warranty with them going forward? Take their money and fix it locally. At least then you'll have somewhere local you trust to fix any potential weld issues going forward.

Always factor in import costs when buying from abroad, then if you avoid them it's a bonus. Most don't mark as a gift as you usually lose any insurance/coverage. Like you say, having to return an item abroad is usually going to be costly and a PITA. Would be reason enough to not buy anything electrical etc.

    Official 86 / Brz 2017 update details

I doubt that it was a decision by TGB. A "full" TRD model would be well north of £30k, the brakes alone are £4k. Japanese manufacturers like to keep special models for their own domestic market. I doubt a request from TGB would see a change in that, as the feedback would likely echo those of all other markets. It already seems that the UK won't get the new spec engine and FD, although I hope those are misprints and not the final spec. Point in case.... 14R60 was a JDM only spec. How about the GRMN86? The same there. You can't even order those parts in Japan either unless you have one of the cars.

Most of that won't make it onto a UK TRD (if they sell one at all). The original JDM TRD was different to the UK spec.
  13. They said that about the one I posted too Low to mid 300s is realistic given the boost and stock high CR internals.
  14. Stage 4 is usually around low 300s Dyno can be found in this thread:

South of London I'm even further away, my car is not a DD so I would have been up for this if you weren't the other end of the country.

The FD change was the obvious way to improve acceleration (a requirement for a facelift these days) without any major change in engine power. I would be shocked if we don't get the 4.3 FD here, although that sheet would suggest that it's true.

Torque dip is still there but if you look at the power graph it will be less noticeable. + G Meter it seems Liking the fact it's gone full LED lights

    TOM's LED Lights

You get hyper flash as if you've blown a bulb. The Valentis may well have resistors built in.

IIRC STi's only have 5x114. Still a WRX I know, but these therefore are probably off an Imprezza STi

I'd have thought they would need the relay replacing.
