    So.... talk manifolds to me

It has an "BRZ" specific part number (MMTS-BRZ-13) and lists the GT86 and BRZ as the only compatible vehicles. Over a 14C opening range I cannot see, unless it's made of butter, how this wouldn't do the job perfectly. It even has a lifetime warranty

    So.... talk manifolds to me

This? The Mishimoto racing thermostat for Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ allows coolant to flow through the radiator at lower temperatures, beginning to open at 76 degress celsius and full open at 90 degC. OEM activation temperature is 96 degC on the FR-S and BRZ. This thermostat is a great idea for FR-S and BRZ when used on track. This Mishimoto racing thermostat is covered by Mishimoto's lifetime warranty.

    So.... talk manifolds to me

The Fanboi-ism is strong in this one..... I agree that a £5 thermostat isn't going to cut the mustard, but I compared operating specs to the Cosworth..... Identical. We all know that Cosworth apply a name tax, that is all.

    So.... talk manifolds to me

@Ade the operating temps are the same. I bet that those photos are probably just generic ones anyway..... a thermostat is a thermostat. Do you think that Cosworth actually manufacture their own? If they both operate the same, I would rather not spend £20 more for a Cosworth box to sit in my cupboard/recycling bin....

Make sure you get it coated, the up and over manifolds introduce a fair amount of heat into the bay.

    So.... talk manifolds to me

Because not everyone will want to spend £1k on a manifold. I agree that the Ace seems to be the pick of the bunch, but when you can pick up a Skunk2/HKS/Tomei or similar for half the price, you're not getting only half the gains.

    So.... talk manifolds to me

Exhaust system is relatively irrelevant when it comes to manifolds. They are all similar enough. Apart from that info, Cosworth state it allows you to run a touch more ignition timing due to the cooler block which will net you a little extra power. That's really the only benefit. It's a simple install though and cheap so on the bhp/£ it's actually up there with an air filter. Intake hoses are mostly bling but Mark did say that he had a car on the dyno recently with one and the MAF output was better. Whether that meant more power though, probably not. I did produce decent power when I had my AVO one on.

Save yourself £20 and get the Mishimoto thermostat. I'd wager its the same thing in a different box. As much as the Ace is awesome, there are plenty of other good options for around half the price. I might be selling a decatted OEM manifold soon, I barely noticed much change in noise. It'll be cheap and many on the US forums reckon it'd be effective.

Instrument binnacle pod - in leather?

T&M was £65 and £10 back if you sent your binacle in to them if I'm correct. That was the alcantara cover which IMO would look much better than leather. Their website is down though so might be worth seeing if you can get contact details from Google. They also did re-trimming of the main dash panels too to match. Will be interested to see AJ124's results.

New 2016 Valenti Sequence rear lights

The Revos are the only ones I'd consider from OEM, but as they are new they are currently quite pricey.

New 2016 Valenti Sequence rear lights

Rear lights are simple to swap, just make sure you get the seals done right - not too tight but tight enough.

New 2016 Valenti Sequence rear lights

And the fact that Valenti never did the original lights with sequential indicators.

    Lauren's GT86 100K miles and onwards

You shouldn't have any issues on an NA tune. If anything does rear it's head you can usually get it resolved remotely these days anyway.

ACE Header for RHD cars in @ Abbey Motorsport

If going by the 350 results in the states, these are the ones to have. They are also quite a bit more £ though.... This 400CS version has me wanting.

Some "Thank You's" and Harrop preview

Seeing as it's a supercharger, it's a little more obvious but I think the Harrop does look great and quite OEM. Good to see some other TVS takers here in the UK. I'll be going for the other offering when I eventually swap but I have yet to go out in a TVS charged car. The boost from a PD charger is very addictive Need to get myself back up to Abbey at some point....

You mean the ones that half this thread is about?

    The Wheels Thread

If both were the same weight and width then the difference will be minimal, most of the mass will be further out but I doubt you'd notice. Any heavier wheel will increase rotational unsprung weight which will impact turn in and marginally acceleration but whether you actually notice it is debatable and down to how much heavier they are. Go for a good wheel and the weight difference is likely to be minimal.

    Nicks white 86

On the other forum people seem to rate the AD08R in all conditions. Having had the AD08 on my previous car I'd be wary of cold and wet weather performance but maybe the R compound is better for daily driving. Are you looking for 888 or similar type of tyres or more normal performance road tyres, as I'm not familiar with the Michelin lineup? You'd get the usual advice of Yoko V105, Conti CS5, Eagle Asy F1

    The Tyre Thread

Lauren, how do you rate the V105s vs the Primacy in the wet? I'm torn between V105 and CS5s when the Mitcheins die and obviously something that I don't have to tip toe in the wet (especially heavy rain) would be nice. The CS5s come up better in wet tests but I'm not that fussed about all out performance in the wet.
