    tweedbean's GT86

Exhaust is do-able on a driveway, you'll need to jack up the engine and remove the lower engine mount to make the overpipe easy. It's all quite simple if your stands/jack will get the car up high enough. If it's up enough to do the front pipe then you should have no issues with the manifold. Just remember which way round the O2 sensors go. Not planning to run a cat at all?

    Subaru BRZ tS

Add SVA as you'll have to get it Type Approved as it's not a standard UK equivalent. That's another £1k-ish to the cause.

    Subaru BRZ tS

Is the £ to Yen rate good enough? I worry that these will be well upwards of £30k new once you consider tax, SVA etc. Maybe if these appear on the 2nd hand market in a few years....

    Subaru BRZ tS

They clearly have a good working relationship with Brembo, just to get them to manufacture some different bore piston calipers isn't going to be a hardship, STi just need to calculate the specs and provide them. In fact I doubt it would cost much more than getting them to make more Impreza ones. The range that Brembo do means that they must have an infinite range of size pistons etc. A properly designed caliper will work better than a carry over. They seem to have gone to some detail with other parts, I doubt a "that'll do" attitude would be fine for the brake.... It's not a very Japanese mindset Who knows until someone has the brakes off. I'd certainly be keen to import one of these, best limited edition to date.

    Subaru BRZ tS

Why could they not be designed calipers for this car? Wouldn't take much to get Brembo to design a different setup than the previous cars. I would be surprised if they were actually identical to any Impreza brakes.... Like the car as a whole, the new Subaru yellow colour looks good.

    Air con dilemma!

Why do you do that? It disengages itself when you're giving it beans.

Gutted! My Gt86 hit by dozy pillock

You won't have the risk of anything else happening, pattern parts don't seem to be available for this car

    BRZ_GT86 stock sump baffles

Think about what happens to the oil in your pan when you accelerate/brake/turn. If you corner too hard then you could see the oil level drop below the pickup meaning no oil in the system and a loss of pressure. When you fit a baffle it essentially prevents the oil just running out the pan due to G forces.

    Any device to Monitor Knock?

I generally see 10-12Hz consistently with what I log, usually at the upper end. I guess it must depend on the ECU, I don't know what the GTR is like. I believe it's not so much how much you log but what, I read somewhere that ECUtek based logging parameters don't slow it down, but standard OBD & SSM ones do. Whether that is true or not I don't know. Flashing speeds differ massively between USB2 and USB3, however recently I noted that logging resolution doesn't seem affected at all. I know that the guys using OP2 cables in the open source realm see much better logging resolution than I can with ECUtek, reportedly 20-25Hz+.

    Any device to Monitor Knock?

Look at the screenshot of the Motec, you can setup the screen to view info in chart and numerical values in real time. Yes you can watch the ECUtek parameters but it's not the same. To really see anything you have to stop the log and then review it. I suppose that live logging isn't the correct term, however it's the ability to live tune with instant data that's the difference. The refresh rate of the data from a Motec or similar beasts ECUtek too. I can't get over 13Hz constantly on mine even using USB3.

You are correct, that was a bad typo

    Any device to Monitor Knock?

It can't really do per cylinder logging in any decent form though. With only 1 O2 sensor you can only log the AFR of half of the cylinders or the whole 4 depending on the manifold setup. We can't see individual knock per cylinder, something that can't be done currently on the FA20, but is available on the FA20DIT. I've been in touch with ECUtek about this, they don't know and the open source guys have had no more success either. It must be a parameter on the ROM/RA somewhere for the FLKC and FBKC to be functional. My guess is that the D4S means that Bosch have created a different ECU to the Subaru norm. Per cylinder timing is only available to Master Tuners and I've not seen actual per cylinder fuel maps, which must exist, except for ECUtek's custom cylinder fuel trims. Neither can really be mapped properly without decent time spent with det cans and a lambda sensor in each port. Having seen how the Motec runs the FA20, it's without doubt a far superior setup. Live data and tuning is awesome.

    New Mini's

The looks of the Mini has gone down in my books over the recent years. The 1st "new" Mini was great, the 2nd was even better, but I just can't like the new one. My old flatmate had a Mk.2 Cooper S. Lovely car to be in and drive, had it's issues though as the turbo went after ~50k. I also know someone who had an early Cooper and it was drinking oil by the end. Neither of those issues probably relate to the newer engines though.

What is it with Toyota dealers

Next time just say that it's for the GT86 FWIW, when ordering with specific part numbers then I doubt they'll even ask (or at least in my experience). It's easier to just lie in all other circumstances. It's not their issue if you order a part for the car wrong in my eyes....

    Review: GT86 Primo - a week in.

I agree with Lauren, mine sits at 18-20C on Auto without fail and it just sorts itself out. There are actually 4 options: Max Accel + Defog: Switch modes by turning on the rear window demist switch while holding the accelerator to the floor. Every time you do this, the mode increases by 1. After mode 4, it goes back to mode 1. The check engine light will flash to indicate which mode has been set. Cruise Control Stalk TCS Switches: When this option is selected, the ECU maps are selected depending on the vehicle's traction and stability settings. Mode 1 - Traction Control on, VSC Normal Mode 2 - Traction Control on, VSC Sport Mode 3 - Traction Control off, VSC Normal Mode 4 - Traction Control off, VSC Sport AT TCM Mode: When this option is selected, the ECU maps are selected depending on the Automatic Transmission setting. Mode 1 - Normal Mode 2 - Sport Mode 3 - Snow Mode 4 - Manual

    Mobile Networks

3 tend to use a broader spectrum on most shared sites than EE in terms of 3G and they all share the same antenna systems which usually causes more issues with most of the new kit I see daily. Being astute in anything is not something network planners are known for.... too much focus on cost over actual performance. And yes, VF and O2 have a similar deal going on (we call itBeacon) and it's got similar issues,in the south at least.

You don't have to have multiple maps There are 2 alternate ways to map switch, using the defogger is the most common.

    Toyota Sports Day 2015

-Fastest in Balance the Ball. 45.1 on my 1st run IIRC -1 Penalty scored -35.1 in the Autotest -4:07 in Egg and Spoon with my team mate (AKA my bitch) Nikndel. 2nd fastest of the day. -Top 8 in head to head - a cone hit dropped me from 3rd to 8th so missing out on the last 4.... It would have meant that the woman that won wouldn't have got to that round. --Winning team!!--

    Aero Bodykit

CTP had listed them previously on the Owners Club but he seems to have vanished and so has the thread. IIRC the front parts are about £400 unpainted (both side spats and grille surround plus attachments required). The sides were about £200-300 per side and the rear was similar to the front.

    Litchfield GT86 Performance Pack

I have the Litchfield spring setup, not the full handling pack however. Bump clearance is fine, only a couple of scrapes over the years but mainly on the undertray on unfriendly surfaces, like the farm I stayed at in Spain.
