No, you can't take anything off the ECU.
-
Nigel, there's very little you'll gain by going the RaceROM upgrade to start off with, it's just custom map access and being able to tune modes 2/3/4. However, I'm always happy to help with that ProECU should know that if you're flashing an ECU with a license attached it won't use up the license, it usually states in the dialogue box that no license will be consumed. However on the virgin ECU it will state that the license will be used up. The stock ROMs and patches are downloaded automatically to the C:/ECUtek folder. I can't remember if it does it on the original setup or whether you need to run the update. You should regularly update the software anyway. Latest ROMs to use for our region on a manual are ZA1JA01G or ZA1JA02G. I run the latter in case there are any fixes implemented. If you want to talk tuning, I suggest that you take a trip over too the US forum where I'm quite active. You can open the OFT OTS maps with ECUtek so you can compare/try them out. For what it's worth, I think it's worth getting hold of Romraider as you have access to far more of the tables than ECUtek gives us end users and you can compare and save ROMs in that and then open them in ECUtek to complete and flash to the car.

I guess I'm your man on this one, seeing as I'm using ECUtek fairly regularly. Go here: http://www.ecutek.com/Support/Downloads Install and follow the instructions, it will tell you when to plug in your cable and dongle etc. One it's done, just open the ProECU app. If you do an update then it will download all the extras, like the stock maps and the RaceROM patches. These can be edited by you if you like, if you want to have a play. You can then open the tune when Adrian sends it to you although, depending on if it's locked, you may only see the logging screen rather than access to the whole ROM. The ECUtek help menu has a whole load of pdf help files. There's one in there showing you how to flash the car, it's really simple. Basically, when connected to the ECU, click: Tools > Detect Vehicle > Programme ECU If you have a license added to your dongle by Adrian, this will automatically flash to the ECU the 1st time you write to it. The car needs to be on the ignition on (2 button pushes) for the ECU to be powered to be detected and flash.

The problem with ITBs is that you'll need an aftermarket ECU. That will bump the price up by at least 1k

Changing the subject but might be worth looking at Tribodyn S/C Oil mate. Seems to come recommended by Sprintex USA and apparently does help keep the charger cooler. Some people in the states are trying it and I guess may keep charger temps down. I think the Redline oil is prone to becoming aerated, which is why it "disappears" which won't help with keeping the rotors cool. Might help with your track abuse

Go twincharged or go home.... 1st drive tHe options, then weigh up the value of the kits.AVO stage 1, Sprintex and the HKS (v2} are all similar performance. Lauren, why do you prefer the HKS over the Sprintex? I can't imagine they are that different to drive.

It's more personalised than the others, plenty of modern format personalised plates out there. The top 2 would be a plate for a plates sake IMO.
-
Having had a real JDM car, I personally don't like smaller plates on UKDM cars and I don't think the side plate suits the car, it ruins the symmetry. However you could get a smaller plate holder and use that centre mounted and lose the horrendous OEM plate holder. No holes to fill either then.
-
As I said on the other site, go this ^^ or similar or don't bother IMO. The DVLA is also probably the cheapest option from my experience last year.

The Sprintex guys are the ones you need to talk to. What are you planning?

Isn't the kit on his white one a TS kit?
-
Top Sage make replicas of the Aero, an original kit from Toyota is going to be mega money. Fensport sell other TS stuff so may be able to get it. I had previously messaged them about getting the kit imported but they never got back to me. Look here: http://www.topsage.com.tw/index.php?op=products_category_list&products_category_id=54&from=products_root&p=5 T Style is TRD OEM+ is the Aero kit I believe

Bought these from eBay thinking that they were for the tail lights so rather than send them back I thought I'd see if they took someone's eye. Come as a pair, as new. Only opened the box and placed up to the car to check fitment. 3M tape already applied. I can't confirm if these will fit a BRZ, I'm assuming the shape will be similar but there are minor differences to the housing from what I can see on Google. Photos below: £35 Delivered

Keethos' GT86 Journey Back To Health + Mods
Kodename47 replied to Keethos's topic in Projects & Builds
All black wheels mate? Have to say I've been tempted to do similar with mine. Cost/Company? -
The motors are for damping adjustment, not height.

Looks like the police were having a busy day down there. Saw a dark (black?) one in the vehicle checkpoint layby area.... just parked or been pulled over wasn't obvious. Anyone been naughty/innocent here?
-
Adrian Flux are the best value for me and they offer GV policies which are of interest, Sky also usually competitive. Most "specialist" companies offer like for like on Mods these days but worth asking. LV may also be worth a shot as my cover is via Adrian Flux but underwrittten by a subsidary of them.

The ROMs are only a 1Mb file. Depends if it's setup to utilise the cars fuel trims capability and how on the edge the base tune is.
-
He's not, it's a Cosworth map.
-
When I saw my car pre-PDI I sat in the car with it idling and the needle was almost the same distance below the R mark as yours is above. There's quite a bit of safety built in.
-
Stock pads? If so, there's your issue and it will go after a while.
-
Up to about 400bhp
-
They require the OEM HID equipment to be swapped over so JDM, EUDM or top spec USDM only, unless you purchase the stuff on top.
-
I've only seen red and clear versions, but they are still a way off retailing and info is thin on the ground so who knows....

The break light is diffused so looks like a bar, look at it compared to the standard Jewel items which have individual LEDs. The standard light bar is different and the indicators are also different as well as the option of sequential flashing.
