Nice. Seems like 230-ish is where these all end up. I would pop up too, but off to look at a house.

There's quite a bit of difference between V105s and AD08Rs. Having slightly more grippy tyres is a world away from trackday type ones.

Which sump did you go for? Might be worth doing come service time.

Some people would say to do the opposite for better road compliance....
-
They are the bonnet catches. Most aftermarket CF bonnets don't reuse the original catch.

I guess that a few tenths of a second on a lap may matter to some, the rest of the benefits will mean sod all to the rest of us.

This is their rally car then. Wonder how much different it is to the V3 car?

How am I contradicting myself exactly? Just because I said that the Toyota oil is good, does that therefore mean that's the oil one I'd use? I stated one of the best, not THE best. I KNOW that race oils aren't suit for road use, so when Mark suggested the Millers to me I asked him to check with them about its suitability. It was given the all clear - maybe it was because I asked that we know its fine to use..... As to why its in my car, I got a good deal on it. Just FYI I don't doubt Mark's advice, I've had a working relationship with Mark on this car since early last year.

To throw a spanner at your theory, usually race spec oils are not good for road use. They don't tend to have the additives that are required for long periods of use, so are good for a race or two and then should be changed. When I saw that the Nanotech was a race oil I specifically made sure that it would be fine for a year long interval. TBH I'd have no issues on running on the OEM oil, the Toyota grade 0W20 is actually one of the best out there.
-
Thing is, as standard the car uses decent quality 0W20 oil which is much thinner than those tested in that link. Power difference is going to be less, if at all really. I use the Millers too BTW.

Keethos' GT86 Journey Back To Health + Mods
Kodename47 replied to Keethos's topic in Projects & Builds
Surely you're still going to need to paint all panels otherwise it will be an issue come resale time? Having real CF next to a fake CF wrap will look off, and surely getting a decent wrap done will almost even up the costs of getting the extra bits sprayed? Personally I'd look at spraying CF wings as there's a chance you'd have to give them a decent UV resistant clear coat anyway. Some of the stories of CF panels going cloudy and hazy after a short time would be enough to make me wary. Eibach do 20mm hub-centric spacers. Fensport do them for about £120 a pair, obviously that's without any forum discount. -
Toyota interest at the Goodwood Festival of Speed

I hear that Sir Chris binned his car on Saturday? The Sin barreled into the same corner yesterday. Looks like the Pug 208 T16 Pikes Peak car was the fastest up the hill all weekend, although I missed it run The McP1 is phenomenally quick, unbelievably so. It also looks much nicer than the Porka offering. -
Good day to have a birthday

The German stuff? I had seen that...... I just can't read German. I know that there's been a test car in Aus for some time, which is why I'm a little surprised it's taken this long. Maybe a lengthy test time is a good thing though.

Can't see it. Might be looking at the wrong page as there appears to be a few.

When driven hard expect the economy to drop a fair bit. Off boost is where it won't change as much. Consider this, you need to run a richer (more fuel) AFR when boosting than when NA and then you're force feeding more air, so you need even more fuel. Obviously the more boost you run, the worse the MPG will become.
-
One would assume 2 smaller turbos and each turbo being powered by one bank of the engine. Should result in an almost instant spool
-
To be fair it did take me a good 1-2 hours to install the pressure and boost fittings. The hardest part was getting the wiring out to under the bonnet.
-
£800?!? Wowsers. I'm sure I paid just over half of that for mine.
-
Actually GTB's does both temp and pressure and at the same time. Something that I wish the P3 did. Seeing as it has a bar graph and numerical display I find it weird that it wasn't thought of at the time.

Seemingly becoming a common problem on the Milltek systems.

Most forums have a swear/word filter and all it does is either removes the set word/phrase or changes it to something else. I've seen it used to good effect with swear words that makes it amusing and still understandable without being offending to anyone else who may be looking at the screen. The gt96.org.uk filter dates back to when there was lots of hidden promoting going on before the ban-gate drama happened. It's just never been changed back. I did suggest that it could be removed a while back but it's not just up to me.
-
It's only a word filter, no one read your message. Anyway, good to see no-one over reacted.
