Could someone please take a picture of the tools under the boot floor that should come with the car and post it up for me. I noticed on collection that mine didn't have a jack in there so toyota gave me a new one and I wondered if there is anything else missing. I noticed yesterday that the towing eye wasn't there either. I have: Emergency tyres sealant stuff Jack Jack handle Wheel brace Thanks in advance James

Thanks all, I'm not up that interested in the tools, it's more the principle that they should be there, toyota said nothing was missing and there clearly is. But they have been good and they will replace everything.

I'm looking at a 3" Perrin exhaust. Looking at these the twin box exhaust seem to sit lower than the single combined back box.

Good call, I have that but it was in the glove box.

It's all about the grip of the alcantara aswell as the looks.

I'm really not bothered it was the seats I wanted not the heated bit, I cant stand the cloth ones. I am impatient so didn't want to wait for one with alcantara to come up in my budget with so few miles etc. And it would have cost me more than the £300 I paid for the seats as dealers charge a premium for cars with alcantara seats, two dealerships let it slip they charge £800-£1000 more for a car with alcantara over cloth. And when I eventually go for buckets, they won't be heated either

I'm going to give it a go at some point as I like the clean look of no plate. I had a friend knock me something up for my mini similar to what you describe, a piece of sheet metal and a towing eye.

Any idea if LED T20 bulbs cause an issue on the GT86? I know on other cars that LED bulbs cause issues so wondered if its the same with this one?
-
Thanks Nige, for me the heated seat were a nice to have so I am not too bothered. If its was full leather than yes, but alcantara seats I have owned before I have never been cold in the winter. Thanks for the advice on this everyone. I have also just found a couple of threads from the US where someone has done the same and couldnt find the wiring either so they knocked up their own.

I like the 5 axis kit on white, very nice.

Right I can confirm the wiring isn't there under the seat or under the centre console. I lifted the gear stick gaiter/trim out to have a poke around in there and theres nothing. Where the buttons go isnt a blanking plate either so they must also fit a different centre console onshore.

Thanks, today I tackled some smaller jobs as I didnt have much time. I gave the car a quick wash followed by a lot of heat gun action to remove the numerous stickers Toyota decided to stick all over the car: Stickers by tweedbean, on Flickr These all came off nice and easy. Next I decided to start clearing up the rear end as there are just too many badges. Please ignore the wonky rear plate, it would seem Inchcape Toyota fitted a new plate before I collected it but they drilled the holes slightly off in the plate itself so it sits crooked. I will be ordering some new ones without the GB logos. Before: Before debadge by tweedbean, on Flickr Off came the Toyota text badge: During debadge by tweedbean, on Flickr I had to get moving so I didnt get time to remove the GT86 badge, so it currently looks off balance with that there: Partial debadge by tweedbean, on Flickr I am trying to work out if I should remove all badges completely but not sure if this will be too plain on the rear. Another option is to replace the top Toyota logo badge with the GT86 one. I also started to clear up the engine bay, I am leaving the green gunk on the engine components as they need the protection but there is no need for the puddles of it all over the plastic components and the painted body work in there. A work in progress, lots more space in the engine bay over the mini so this should be nicer to work on: Engine bay clean up by tweedbean, on Flickr The green gunk attracts dirt: Engine bay clean up by tweedbean, on Flickr Engine bay clean up by tweedbean, on Flickr Theres loads more cleaning to go on in there, when I get more time over the weekend as I just ran out of time today.

Ha no worries you would have never known that had happened looking at them I think it's time for a good clean of the rest of the car today as well as getting the heat gun out. Toyota really go to town on the amount of stickers on these cars advertising the brand, website, cleaning service etc Any ideas if the air bag warning sign on the sun visor is just a sticker?

Top one aswell

Next came the P3 gauge that fits into the air vent. It allows you to still use the vent which is really good and literally took 5 minutes to fit. It should be great for monitoring everything as well as it 0-60 times and code reading if required. Out comes the vent: Out comes the air vent by tweedbean, on Flickr Then I switched over parts of the vent onto the new gauge and press it back into place after connecting it to the OBD port: P3 Gauge Fitted by tweedbean, on Flickr As you can see I wont need to take my eyes of the road to see it and its a much better looking alternative to a scangauge: Interior dash shot by tweedbean, on Flickr

They scrubbed up really well. Nothing a bit of TLC couldn't sort.

Well today, I had a bit of spare time and I couldn't stop myself from getting on with fitting some of the parts I have collected. First job was to get rid of the cloth interior and fit the alcantara/leather one I had picked up. This started with a very nervous but easy strip down of the interior, all this came out after only 14 bolts. I've only had it 3 days which made this nerve racking. However now I have got this out the way I wont feel so bad pulling other parts off it. I want to try and do the majority of the spanner work on this car myself, its one thing that got me excited about my old R53 MINI as we did all the work. With the clubby I was lazy and got Millsy's to do most of the work for me, which was easier and he did a great job but you dont get that satisfaction that you have achieved something yourself. First job before touching anything was to disconnect the battery: Prepping the car ready to pull out the interior by tweedbean, on Flickr Disconnect the battery by tweedbean, on Flickr Good bye cloth interior: Cloth Interior by tweedbean, on Flickr Out came the interior, I found it easy to just remove the rear side panels to get at the rear bolts on the back seats: Interior out by tweedbean, on Flickr Interior out by tweedbean, on Flickr Alcantara vs cloth: Comparison alcantara vs cloth by tweedbean, on Flickr In went the rears, looking much better already: Rear seats in by tweedbean, on Flickr Closely followed by the fronts: New interior in by tweedbean, on Flickr Close up 2 by tweedbean, on Flickr Detail shot of the GT86 space invader type pattern they use across the car including the front grills and dashboard. Close up by tweedbean, on Flickr Much better, I'm really pleased with the difference as the seats now match all the red stitch detail throughout the car. I haven't hooked up the heated seat switches just yet, I am going on the hunt for the wiring tomorrow.
-
No problem will take a load of pics for you, the fronts seats took 5 mins each to get out. Its only 4 bolts and 2/3 connectors.

Would these fit over Impreza STI brakes?
-
Thanks, so hopefully Nige still has this wire, I will drop him a pm.

So today I decided to do the seat swap and this is what I have found so far: Firstly the alcantara seats look much better in my opinion when side to side: Seat swap by tweedbean, on Flickr Secondly comparing the connections as expected there is an additional one for the heated seats on the left(Additional Blue Connector): Seat swap by tweedbean, on Flickr Then when looking to the wiring under the seat, I only have two connectors, no blue one: Seat swap by tweedbean, on Flickr Wondering whether it is worth pulling up the carpets etc to see if the blue one is tucked away somewhere?

Agree the aero kit does look good on white, enjoy

Another BRZ Front Fender Side Fin Group Buy from Japex
Tweedbean replied to Keethos's topic in For Sale GT86 / BRZ Parts
Thanks for organising this, I collected mine today, big thumbs up for Keethos -
Thanks for the great comments, I am really pleased with it. Had a very enjoyable drive to work this morning. Also thanks to the group buy organised by Keethos, I have more parts ready to go on this weekend. BRZ side vents which I prefer to the Toyota ones which are a little too plain, I did consider the TRD fin type ones however with the car in its current guise, they were a bit over the top. Its finally here :) Today wasn't without its challenges but I am happy to say I now finally own a GT86 in pearl white. Toyota Burton have been great in turning this car around in less than 4 hours from when it was traded in to handing me the keys. Even with a last minute dash from the previous owners as he forgot to give them the log book, then he got stuck in traffic, but finally he arrived back with it. I was then able to check the car over and do a quick test drive which wasn't that successful as Burton was jammed full of traffic. Before I knew it I was out the door with the keys Findings after my first drive back from Burton to Rugby is that these are a hoot to drive, I definitely made the right choice. I learnt it needs a centre armrest and its weird not having any stereo/nav controls on the steering wheel. Not a fan of the cloth seats but I am fitting a full heated alcantara/leather interior Friday. I also have a few other little bits on the way to get the modding started. The headunit is better than I expected, sat nav worked a treat, even if it was a little on the quiet side at first. I just need to work a few things out like where the option is to see how many miles are left in the tank, if it does that and if I can relocate the USB port to the glove box as I dont like my iPod cable hanging down the dash. This car brought a huge grin to my face and I am already looking for excuses to go for a drive. Side way action on the way home, all very controlled even in the rain which is great.
