Wanted OEM exhaust Cat back / Airbox and intake pipes
86iain replied to damo1023's topic in Wanted GT86 / BRZ Cars and Parts
I have a cat back exhaust you can have for free, it has sat in my garden for a couple of years mind. In Grimsby. -
Using sub-standard fuel and steps to mitigate the problems

Kouki 86 low mileage direction - Supercharger/Lightweight/GR
86iain replied to Feemono's topic in Modifications
I've no idea what it does, possibly just for noise levels. Though it could do some Voodoo to the incoming air, add turbulence/help build a certain amount of pressure or something. I'd want it adding back if the car doesn't seem to be running properly. -

The one that runs off to the left? That's for the "sound generator" -
I've got one of these, had it a couple of years. I've now got the OE all black one.

It's easy enough to do, if a little fiddly. You can remove the slave to make things easier but don't have to. Just pull the small rubber boot over and slather grease inside the top of the gearbox on the fork. You'll be able to feel it, but it is a bit of a faff.
-
I grease mine a couple of times a year. The noise comes back but hey ho.

****bags. If they're happy rifling through someone's house while they're in bed you never know what they might have done had you caught them at it.

I'm going to go with "a bit loud" You'll probably want to saw your ears off* after about 15 minutes. Not to mention your neighbours will probably want you dead. I made the mistake of buying a Malian exhaust a couple of years ago and I actually felt guilty my elderly neighbours had to listen to it. *yes, I'm aware your ears are technically holes, but you know what I mean.

Mine has cost me, apart from obvious costs : A pair of headlamp bulbs and a door courtesy light bulb in 3 years and around 25k miles. Used every day.

Whiteline Gearbox Bush Insert - GT86 & BRZ REVIEW
86iain replied to Jay Bamrah's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
I'd considered one of the available bushes for this, but as it's my only car and it often ends up on 500 mile runs going to places on holidays I decided against it. I only just about kept my sanity driving up to Aberdeen a couple of years ago.8 hours each way 😂 -
Yep, my 2013 GT86 is the same.
-
When I trade mine in I'm just going to stick the original rear lights on and jack the coilovers up to what looks like a standard height. I'll leave the exhaust, it's not that loud when hot. I can't be faffed with taking suspension and exhaust off, I'll only have them sitting in the garden for months while someone offers me 47p on Facebook for them.

You mean like people who have never even sat in a GT86 yet have the opinion that not only are they slow, but Toyota and Subaru should have fitted a turbo and it's the end of the world that they didn't. Even though said people have no more interest in an impractical two seat coupe than I have of buying a VW Golf.

I have a 300 year old Transcend drive pro 200. It's not that big. It's been in my last 4 or 5 cars. Still fine.

BRZ 6th year body service/underbody retreatment
86iain replied to Shad's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
I don't think mine has had any underbody checks. Certainly not in the 3 years I've owned it. I lathered it in Bilt Hamber Dynax so I'm sure it'll be fine.. -
My windscreen is ok, front bumper and bonnet not so much.
-
I have red/chrome. 2 years and no MOT or Police problems.

Welcome aboard 👍 Enjoy the track days.

I've had 2 touchups ordered from various places, neither are a perfect match.

Hadn't clicked on the link. They seem expensive, the name I'm guessing.
-
To fit lowering springs you need compressors. To fit coilovers you don't. Spring compressors are a bit iffy.
-
I have Tein Flex Z. Easy enough to fit. Just pick a nice day and have fun. It'll help you notice all the rusty parts lurking under there....

Zero drone with my Milltek non resonated.

Decals for the middle traction control button

I have the banana skin dispenser one. Randomly, people very rarely mention it.
