I'd be surprised if it's the manifold/loop pipe touching the crank pully, that entire section of the exhaust is hard mounted to the engine so it should move with it. It could well be a bit of resonance that's crept in where somethings aged.

Does anyone know if there’s a delay between changing engine maps (via the cruise control stalk) and the ECU taking it as the startup map? I get the impression from ECUTEKs site that car should start from the last loaded map but I’ve been having trouble getting mine to play ball, so I was wondering if I was switching the car off to quickly for it to load properly. Ta

Quick question for anyone with one of the Tuning Developments catbacks, did it come with the donut gasket (for the cat/resonator pipe flanges)? I’ve left Mike a message but TD are closed for Christmas and I was really hoping to get it fitted before I go back to work, so if anyone else can answer then it’d be appreciated. Cheers Neil

What size tyres are you running? The 245mm PS4s on my "summer" wheels should be fine but i'd imagine the cross climates on the OEM wheels could prove interesting.
-
So given you've had the Harrop kit for a month now and the weathers been pretty dire, how are you finding the drivability?
-
Hi all, I figure it makes sense to put this in here as it may come in handy for other people thinking about buying a TD Turbo kit. So I've got a few things i'd like to know. 1. How long does the kit take to fit? 2. Is it essential to go for the full de-cat and does retaining the main cat cause any problems? 3. If the full de-cat is essential, what are people doing come MOT time? Ta, Neil

Have you had the car MOT'd since having the turbo conversion done? If so did it pass ok?
-
That's not too bad. Was that on a factory cat or a sports cat?
-
Mike, any idea what effect the putting a sports cat in will have on performance? From memory (from when I was playing round with Imprezas) the gains from a full decat on a turbod engine aren’t that drastic.
-
Hi all, I know this is a bit of a how longs a piece of string question but it'd be useful to have some (even vague) indication, what sort of price increases have people seen on their insurance when going turbod/supercharged? Ta Neil

The RCA connections you're plugged into are almost certainly pre-outs, so they aren't powerful enough to drive speakers on their own. You'll need an amplifier if you want to use them to power your speakers.

Roger Clarke Motorsport will do you a forged/decked EJ20 short block for far less than you’d have expected. 👍 Cool project though, that Pure automotive ECU kit looks really quite impressive. Though you do pay for it.

General FI questions - Rod strength and supercharger whine

What’s Mark wanting for the Harrop kit these days? I spoke to him around 12 months ago and it was around £5200 for the DIY kit but the exchange rates been all over the place since. -

Not meaning to thread hijack (but it's relevant). What made people choose the Cosworth supercharger over the Harrop kit or vice-versa? I've been doing some research on both and am really struggling to decide between the two. The larger blower of the Harrop kit looks to give more headroom for future mods but the smaller blower in the Cosworth kit gives less parasitic loss. -
Though I recognised that posting style 😂

Yup, that’s exactly what mine looks like. Slightly irritating given the car wasn’t even 3 years old when I first noticed it. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1836860 As for fixing, is this the FT86Club thread you’re looking at John?

Any chance someone can post a photo of their dash? Mines developed a dip in the middle so I’d be interested to see if we’re talking the same problem.

I hate to divert from this little bun fight for a second but I need to know. Tubbytommy, were you on Scoobynet several years back?

TD manifold, overpipe, LCAs, toe arms.

How did you find the exhaust noise with the complete TD system? -
Think somebody needs a supercharger 😁 That last video almost looked like the Elise was holding you up in the bends but there was no way you were getting passed on the straights (unless the driver decided to let you through) 'cus of the difference in acceleration.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone on here got a “aerodynamically functional” splitter/diffuser on their car? The reason I ask is there’s a few companies in the states (e.g. FT86 speed factory or driveway labs) who claim to do splitters that help reduce drag/improve downforce and I was wondering if anyone had ever bothered to import one. Cheers
-
Dunno. The amount I posted earlier was based on the individual component prices on Verus’ website.
-
Balls, so much for that idea then. Back to squirreling money away for the supercharger 😂
-
Yeah i reckon i could swing it if it was under £1500 but the man maths just rounds it the wrong way at that price. That being said i could live without the suspension covers and possibly the splitter end plates, which gets it down to something in the region of £1125

Ouch, that’s a fair bit more than I’d hoped it would be.
