Count me in to, sounds like a bit of a steal tbh.
-
Could well be that they had to do that to activate the new sensors. I know when I had mine done (using I-Sensor sensors) one of the guys was muttering something about having to take them up to 40 or 50 PSI to wake them up.
-
Hi Mike, I see you've got the FA20 forged builds listed as an option on your website now. What sort of price is that likely to be? Ta, Neil
-
To be honest it was specifically the cost of the stage 1 build you’ve got on the website (just as a starting point) I was interested in. You don’t see many places advertising off the shelf engine builds like that.
-
Little bit unnecessary don’t ya think?
-
Yeah Reyland offer their own discs too. Was just a general observation as Godspeed sell their 330mm/6 pot AP kit for the same price as Reyland sell their 330mm/4 pot kit.

To be honest the main use for a proper diffuser on a road car is the reduction in drag rather than creation of downforce. Assuming you fit something that meets the floor pan and extends passed the rear bumper, then it'll smooth out the airflow leaving the underside of the car and reduce the airflow into the leading (i.e. inside) face of the rear bumper.
-
What did the front brake kit cost you? Godspeed have got a 6 pot kit with a 330mm disc on their website which is silly cheap.
-
Tbh half the reason for wanting one is “the look”. Just I wanted something that stood a chance of actually being functional as well, rather than one of those stick on diffusers which are actually just a piece of trim on the rear bumper.
-
Yeah think i'd have to speak to Tegiwa and find out, they don't list Verus on their brands listing but Verus have them down as their EU dealer. So how much did the splitter/diffuser cost?
-
Cool, have you got any photos of the diffuser? Also, who’s the UK distributor for Verus?
-
Was more the diffusers tbh as i quite i quite like the look of the driveway labs type 1 diffuser. As for what i want to know, it was just about cost and peoples experiences of importing from the states. https://drivewaylabs.com/collections/subaru-brz/products/type-1-rear-diffuser

I'm just wondering, has anyone ever fitted the brakes from a new-age (00-07) Impreza WRX to a GT86? The reason i ask is i've got a set sat in the loft of the garage (from a previous car) and i've seen talk previously about fitting the Brembos from the same year STi. I figure with the Godspeed 335mm disc kit, it could be a fairly cost effective way of going for a (notionally) big brake setup. So any thoughts? https://www.godspeedbrakes.co.uk/impreza-ver-4-onwards-type-r/97-impreza-335mm-4-pot-caliper-big-brake-conversion.html

Don’t think you actually need to. Pretty sure the pistons are all the same diameter, so I can’t see any reason why you shouldn’t be able to just swap them across the axle.
-
Yeah it's the bit about piston area that i don't follow. By my maths the WRX 4 pots give you significantly more piston area, even if i'm being generous and assuming the OEM calipers act as a 2 pot (rather than a sliding single). 1 piston WRX = Pi x 20^2 = 1256.6mm^2 So 4 pistons = 4 x 1256.6 = 5026.5mm^2 GT86 OEM = Pi x 21.4 = 1438.7mm^2 So 2 pistons = 2 x 1438.7 = 2877.4mm^2
-
Yeah I’ve never been able to get my head around the change in brake bias. Assuming the only thing that’s changed is the callipers, you’re going from a single piston sliding calliper to a 4 pot with slightly larger pads, so I’d have expected the brake bias to move forward slightly if anything. As for why, in all honesty it’s a bit of a “because I can”. The callipers are sat in the loft at the moment and they aren’t worth a vast amount, so if they’re an improvement on the GT86 then that’s got to be a better used.

http://www.speedhunters.com/2016/11/ferrari-engined-toyota-gt86/ Speedhunters did quite an interesting article on this car, just a shame he doesn't seem to have sorted the bonnet (or lack their of).

Yeah I blame Wedssport tbh, it’s all over their website about Howe dangerous fakes are but they never tell you how to recognise real ones (unless of course you buy new). 😂 -

Cool. Just for my own sanity, who did you buy them from? -
Hi All, Figured I’d just drop something in here to say hi, been browsing the site for a couple of years (since buying my GT86) and finally decided to actually sign up. So the cars a 16 plate in metallic grey and currently sporting a TRD duck tail (amazing the difference changing one detail makes to the appearance of the car), valenti brake lights, Cobra resonated cat-back and a TD EL manifold (mapped by Abbey). Have to say I was sceptical that the manifold could make that much difference (even after reading the rave reviews on here) but the car drives so much better for it. Anyways, all the best. Neil
-
It was purely out of convenience tbh, TD are a good 4.5 hour drive from me where as Abbey are only 1.25. That and I bought it on Black Friday so it didn’t cost me any more. As for what it’s like, it’s pretty loud at full throttle but not too bad around town. That being said I briefly had the non-res version (with the TD manifold) and that was silly loud.

Indeed. I know it's a bit of a cliche but the Harrop charger really does make it feel like someones dropped a larger engine in the front.
