Norfolk Police guidelines on vehicle legality.
Twigman replied to Lauren's topic in Non GT86/BRZ General Chat
In the bike world exhausts have been an issue for years and years. The only thing IME that police get shitty about are dodgy numberplates. (too small/wrong typeface/wrong spacing. I do know of 1 instance where someone got a defect correction notice because their exhaust can had 'Not for highway use' stamped on it. -
Poking a braddle from the inside pokes a tight hole in the end of the tube - probably results in a tighter seal around the wires

I don't know if you noticed bot the OEM+ guide are pics of a LHD install reversed - which isn't 100% accurate for RHD

http://www.gt86.org.uk/forums/topic/1639-oemaudio-cf400reference-install-blog/?p=23383 On the attached post is my solution to this problem....it took me hours of head scratching as I could not get access to the end of the tube to cut the end off with a stanley knife. Hydraulic pipes and fat hands prevented that.

What Toyota mean by 'DAB ready' in their literature is anyone's guess. There does not appear to be any intention to make a DAB module available anytime soon for the 86's T&G unit. I suspect there could be grounds for misrepresentation there ...... anyway to my point What DAB options are out there while keeping the T&G head unit? I've seen this: http://www.justconnectme.co.uk/justdrive-digital-radio-dab-car-adaptor/ Anyone any experience with it? Are there any better options? Perhaps a Toyota dealer might care to explain what 'DAB ready' means and when (if ever) DAB might be available on the T&G?i

The black mountains are appalling the welsh valleys too - down between the hills

Ah Ok I get you So first the aerial - vertical on screen: Then the Source list: Then the DAB presets screen: Hope this is what you are after
-
My aerial is vertical, parallel to the A pillar on the passenger side of the windscreen. Reception is perfect. I suspect orientation is critical as it is in most other applications. I have no idea what the DAB module looks like as i have not removed the HU from the dash to take a look. I don't plan to either.

The trickiest part of which is disconnecting the electrical connector for the switch panel etc - I couldn't do it on mine - it refused to unplug- so fitted my speakers with the door card hanging from the loom!

I have been thinking about boosting. I do get the car in NA trim and enjoy having to hustle it but it would be nice once in a while to not have to drop 2 cogs to get the speed up on an overtake and perhaps be a bit lazier with the gears. One nagging question..... Does the whine of the blower get on your tits at all? I mean it's always there isn't it? I was chatting to a friend about this and he told me he had a mate who'd fitted a blower to one of his cars (no idea what) and had moaned that it was too loud and intrusive and after a while he'd got fed up with it and took it off! So what's a blower like on the motorway while listening to radio4extra?

Nick don't get me wrong, I'm happy with the car in NA guise - it's a lot of fun keeping it on cam and stirring the box...and I'm not sure the budget will justify a blower....just curious

This may seem an ignorant queation but are they not machined to fine tolerances to start with?

http://fensport.co.uk/Parts/Model_108/Category_18/5007 I'm half tempted....but do I really want to throw 13k at the GT86? Before you say "It's only 5k" let me say that the only mod I have at the moment are my wheels. So will need a zorst(1k), this charger(5k) and inevtably a BBK (and I fancy ap 6 pots up front(2k) and ap 4 pots(2k) at the back- i try not to do anything by halves)then probably a set of coilovers (ohlins(3k) are my favoured brand here)....so all in all 13k required to devalue my GT86 by how much? Is the cash burning a hole in my wallet?....well it's smouldering a little.... Edit: but it would be nice to find a way to do all this a bit more cheaply

How long do you plan to keep your 86/BRZ?
Twigman replied to griffinnn's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
Only thing i'd change is more torques in the 3 to 4.5k range -
Bonnet stay gets in the way when bending over the engine bay, also the bonnet can blow off the stay in the wind.
