My 86 is all of 3 and a bit months old. I have noticed recently that the car is sitting visibly lower on the offside rear than the nearside rear. I can't imagine the increased weight of my sub box (20lb) is causing a visible increase in compression of the offside rear suspension. Do you think this is something I should take up with the dealer? Could it be that I have a weak spring? I'll bring the car to Woodbridge on Sunday so you might give a 2nd opinion.

Yes on level ground. It's visibly lower on the offside. The arch gap on the offside rear is about a finger's width narrower than on the nearside. Around 454gHTH

My TWS centre caps have a sprung ring to keep them pressed against the inside of the bores. They needed quite some force to get on with the wheels on the car. They would've been much easier to fit with the wheels off the car.But the sprung ring is most definitely mre secure than standard. I've probably tempted fate now and will lose one of these only available from japan centre caps soon.

According to my dealer, not from Toyota

Today I used my satnav for the first time since I upgraded my audio system. The woman giving the directions is bloody loud! Is there a way I can turn her down without effecting the overall volume of the radio? I couldn't find anything on any of the menus. My old Mazda satnav had a facility to do this - I'm really quite annoyed that I couldn't find it on the 86....oh and I would RTFM but that's at home. I've still got to get home tonight - i might even need the satnav for the first few miles as I have no clue where I am right now - Bromsgrove or somewhere...and I really don't want her shouting at me anymore.

That wiring looks a bastard....... I think I might give this mod a miss.

The most irritating rattle ever is coming from the press stud on the passenger seat seat belt guide. It is worse when the press stud is connected but has now started rattling when undone too. Has anyone else suffered this rattle? How might one get rid of it? Is this something I should complain to the dealer about? it seems mighty petty. i find it incredibly irritating.

Do any of you have a ramp or a lift or a pit? I have a couple of things I would like to do that requires the use of a ramp or a lift or a pit: 1) i'd like to fit a whiteline positive shift thing and 2) I'd like to apply ACF50 to the underside of the 86 before winter but I have no way to get under the car. What do you guys do? Do you have your own lifts?

Not easy when your driveway slopes at 30 degrees and you have zero flat land to park on.I have decent axle stands

I never get a response when I flash at them..... On friday night I got caught having a jimmy riddle on the way home from the pub by a policewoman in a big police van! She bipped her horn at me and when i looked over my shoulder she told me to "Put it away, you're in a public place!" - I'm really not sure how she could see 'it' as I had my back to her....so i stuffed it away before it had finished doing its thing and then had a rather uncomfortable walk home.....

Welcome along. I'm not too sure that I would enjoy FI on this car either. I find NA the car is more than capable enough on A and B roads of delivering plenty of thrills. I think NA it is possible to drive at 80%+ easily without getting in any trouble. i suspect with significantly greater torque and power then I would find myself at 35-30% far more often and not having as much fun. I liken it to the difference between a 600cc and a litre sports bike. While I have ridden a litre class sportbike for 18odd years I have never enjoyed it, on the road, as much as I enjoyed caning the tits off a 600 before that. Riding the 600 demanded maintaining momentum and high corner speeds because the grunt just wasn't there to take off down the straights. it's probably much like hooning a NA car about, it probably takes more thought to hustle quickly as you can't just plant the right foot and recover all that lost speed. Just my 2c - all IMHO of course.

http://www.japanparts.com/db/parts_detail.php?submit.x=65&submit.y=10&NUMBER=00044085&VOLUME=484-010-006&DEALER=1&CAR=177&MIDDLE=2&SMALL=41&MAKER=5&VOLKEY=&SEARCH_DEALER=1&SEARCH_CAR=177&SEARCH_MIDDLE=2&SEARCH_SMALL=41&SEARCH_MAKER=&SEARCH_VOLKEY=&SEARCH_page= The module that plugs into the loom in the driver's door that folds the mirrors in on locking and opens them on engine start. Does anyone know if available through Subaru UK? If so how do they feel about selling bits to a GT86 owner and anyone know how much it is? Do i really want the wait and the customs hassle? I do think it would be useful though if only as a visual check that the car is locked. -
I think I might take it to the dealer and see what he has to say about it. I can't cope with it any longer!!!! it drives me nuts

I've already bought my expensive wheels - I wish I could stop opening wheel threads and stop looking at these beautiful wheels...

James - did you have to cut any wires? The wire that goes to the door lock mech: how does it secure to the red/pink wire? -
I have a pair of ramps and some axle stands already. But I have NO flat ground - my house is on the side of a hill and the drive is at 30 degrees to the road and can't do what I want with 18" of clearance anyway. I wonder if there are any of these self service places local?

Now that's clever....why didn't I think of that? Do you think that idea's got legs?

My sentiment too..... Sorry
