    Thoughts on Blue wheels?

good job your car is white coz they'd not work with any other colour I loikes em
  3. The TWS nuts that go with the wheels look pants. I'll stick with OE until i decide what colour to use. You will see them 'in the flesh' at BHP.
  4. re seat angle of nuts - it's standard Subaru which seems to be 60 degree conical so my mind is at rest
  5. The fitter asked me about nuts and he said that if the OE nuts weren't appropriate he wouldn't fit the wheels. He fitted the wheels.
  6. I thought stock stuff did too.....am I wrong? i do have a set of metal chrome valves but didn't fit them as they seemed quite heavy and I didn't want loads of weights on the wheels.
  7. In time, yeah - I just fitted stock stuff for now until I get used to the way they look. that way I'll be sure to make the right choice first time.
  8. TWS wheels aren't readily available in UK - I had to import these from japan - are you thinking of TSW? they're awful.
  9. No not lowered - I can't lower as I would never get on and off my unfeasibly steep driveway if I went lower! I've already scraped the offside front corner on the original wheels and setup. This setup will give about 5mm extra clearance which is sorely needed! Specs of the wheels are: 18" x 8.0J et44 56.1mm c/b all round 6.70kg per rim!!!! 225/40-18 Contipsorts5 for the rubber ( i wanted Goodyear F1 but couldn't get hold of any - backordered for a month!!!) I have both black and silver centre caps - which do people think will look best?
  10. All Gtechniqed up and tyres go on tomorrow (Conti5s - been waiting for the F1s for ages - gave up) - just in time for BHP
  11. A set of TWS T66-F forged alloys arrived from Japan for me today. I got a set of 18 x 8.0J 5x100PCD et44 c/b 56.1mm in silver - I got them with 2 sets of centre caps (black and silver- not sure which will look best on my grey 86). 6.7kg a piece Once I have spare cash for rubber (225/40-18 goodyear F1 assymetric2 are top of the shoppping list) they will find their way onto the 86. Thank you very much Nathan from Japex Trading for acting as go-between and providing such transparent speedy service!

  13. Pandering to religionists has become fashionable. It's despicable. God is a man made abstract concept and deserves total and utter contempt as far as I am concerned. How can anyone respect someone brain dead enough to believe in the bullshit? - they get zero respect from me. Their beliefs (all religions) should not be allowed affect my life whether through law making or this politically correct pandering to minorities bullshit. Follow me on twitter to see some of the rows I get into with religionists/US fundies/creationists/radical muslims et al @slagbass

    Treating new wheels

I am looking at treating my brand new rims before fitting them with rubber and putting them on the car. I am looking for the best possible treatment I can give them that will make them as easy as possible to clean. I'm quite impressed with the tefal like qualities of the OEM wheels, to be honest, and am looking to make my new rims as easy to maintain. Someone somewhere pointed me at Gtechniq C5 wheel armour...I looked it up £23 for 15ml!!!!!! 15ml is nothing - how is that stuff applied? How far would 15ml go? Is there anything else I should consider? I would need to sort something by this weekend as the rubber goes on the rims next week (ordered at the fitters) and the wheels on the 86 straight after.
  15. I think I must be unique in thinking OEM look the best! There isn't an aftermarket light that has tempted me so far.
