I got a new DSLR last week and before reformatting an SD card for my old one I had a hunt through the files on it. I discovered several video clips which I'd totally forgotten about. My band did a tour of USA last year and recorded a radio session in Los Angeles. Our merch man had wandered around during the session with my DSLR taking video. I DL'd a trial of some video editing software and cobbled together this: [I'm the fella on the bass]

I eventually received a tax refund for my written off Mazda - it took a while. DVLA send their refund by cheque. Not only is that an annoyance in itself in this day and age, meaning one has to find a branch of the bank to pay it in (I don't have online banking on my phone so the take a photo in the app thing isn't for me) but the cheque they do send is huge - it won't fit in my wallet unless it's folded which means by the time you get it to the bank it's so creased that the teller machine won't accept it! Is this a DVLA ploy so that recipients can't bank the cheque before the 6 month expiry date?

Blue , red and green are definitely not allowed

Probably easily by comparing the code to factory code

I never said you were. You said you were 'increasing the value of your car' - I'd say adding £6k of parts is more likely to decrease the value of your car. The presumption that spending money on bits increases the value of your car is frankly false.
-
My comment has absolutely nothing to do with 'your policy'. Your 'agreed value' may or may not be a reflection of the true value of your car - adding £6k parts though doesn't necessarily increase the value of your car 1p.
-
That doesn't necessarily increase the value of your car. Your car's value is determined by what someone would be prepared to pay for it. Most avoid modified cars like the plague - generally modified cars sell for less than unmodified cars.

Can't you just pop the cover off the tow hook mounting point?

I've taken the plunge and will have a set of Dunlop Winter Sport5 215/45-17 tyres fitted to my OEM rims on Monday. They'll sit in the warehouse here at work until the time is right to swap 'em over.

I've been driving 37 years and never had a problem until I moved to where I live now (in 2011). Now, every year, I wish I'd fitted winters. Getting into and out of the estate I live on doesn''t happen if you're on summer tyres and there's been a light dusting of snow and the temp is sub-zero. years ago when I had a Triumph Spitfire I used to go out in the snow and deliberately do 360s on the Watford ring road in the snow....155 wide(narrow) tyres helped

Very few seem to be @205 - and 205/50 even rarer. After reading various reviews I am tempted by Kleber Krisalp HP 3 215/45 R17 91V https://www.mytyres.co.uk/cgi-bin/rshop.pl?dsco=110&typ=R-342843&partner=1&ID=psm_rd_uk_tyrereviews&Country=UK or Kleber Krisalp HP 3 205/50 R17 93V https://www.mytyres.co.uk/cgi-bin/rshop.pl?dsco=110&typ=R-342908&partner=1&ID=psm_rd_uk_tyrereviews&Country=UK Has anyone tried these?

This will be on OEM 17" rims - I'm not going to buy yet another set of wheels. Snow traction is probably my #1 priority as getting on and off my drive in the snow is a bastard.

I ended up looking nothing like standard. I went with the HKS Spec-L. It sounds only subtly different from stock, a little less noticeable than I expected but when I go to a new manifold I expect it to still have a neighbour friendly non-chavtastic kind of sound. Sadly, the planned manifold swap will have to wait as I had a house boiler failure this week and replaced it this morning robbing me of close to £3k in the process.

Whenever you get free cash for mods something else comes up

Anyone else have this? Just about to pull the trigger on going down the TD UEL header route when the house boiler packs up and has so many faults it needs replacing. I don't know about you but being able to have a hot shower everyday and heating in the winter is a higher priority than eliminating the torque dip and having a satisfying burble. Does anyone else find that as soon as you can afford a mod on your car something else happens to stake a claim on those funds? Me? Almost every time. -

As much as I'd like to shack up with an heiress, I don't think that would ever happen - I quite like my independence these days. My job pays well and I'm effectively my own boss but child maintenance is a severe drain on funds - not sure how an heiress would feel about funding that either. -
Does the screen replacement bloke stick it or is that a job they leave for us to to do? How do they peel the aerial off without breaking it? ( 'carefully' is not the answer I'm looking for necessarily)

Recommend me a wheel refurbishment service for forged wheels
Twigman posted a topic in Modifications
My T-66F wheels could do with a refurbishment. I'm looking for a service reasonably locally (Hemel/Dunstable/MK) that will be able to deal with a bit of light corossion, a bit of kerb damage on one of the wheels, fully strip and powder coat in a satin silver. Any recommendations? -

I had repair and an attempt to match the original colour - it's close. I don't have a before and after pic - i didn't take a pic of quite how poor my wheels had become - i had removed them in Nov18 and must've put them away damp - they had been shrink wrapped and stored on a pallet in a warehouse for 6 months - when I unwrapped them with a view to sticking them back on the car they were in a horrible state! -
Why don't you ring a main dealer and ask?
