Keethos' GT86 Journey Back To Health + Mods
Jamie_GRMN replied to Keethos's topic in Projects & Builds
I have thought about them but they tend to be higher priced so no overall benefit, prefer the look of the Celica too. What has Pete already done to the gen 6? -

Not 100% yet as probably going to wait to buy in the new year, but a Gen 7 Celica T-Sport is top of the list currently -

I had the white line kit fitted to mine when I dropped it on the BC's, was more of a precaution as I was lowering 40mm+. Can't say whether there was any specific improvement though as everything was done at once... i will say that the grease boots on the lower ball joints are shite, mine had split when I removed them to put the car back to standard after 20k ish, if you can refit the standard ones will be better 👍🏼

Rich has seen one as the 14plate I had had the cheap gas in it 👍🏼

Sounds like a good plan, the only risk you have is VOSA not agreeing that it's safe, would be shooting yourself in the foot a bit

The other option is checking the recommended wheel widths for the tires you're using but this would still leave some judgement from the officer as to whether he agrees or not

I'd be going down the route of getting it looked at by VOSA and if they deem it safe having them produce a cover note mate. Seems our local office is Llay, may be worth giving them a ring and seeing if they could inspect it for you. DVSA Wrexham GVTS Llay Road Llay Wrexham LI12 0TL Telephone:01978 856 230

GT86/BRZ/FR-S Manifold/Headers From Tuning Developments
Jamie_GRMN replied to Mike@TD.co.uk's topic in Tuning Developments
The last I heard the 86/BRZ never came with a diesel engine so how on earth is that extract of the MOT requirements even relevant -
Pfffft, all of mine was changed at 2500!!! Never too soon
-
If it comes back then take it in. As you said the release bearing doesn't transfer any power so the supercharger wouldn't effect it. Unless it's been absolutely ragged it'll have failed to soon to be wear and tear so would be covered by warranty. If it does come back don't let the dealer try wriggle out of it because of the charger, they would have to prove it is caused by the charger and not a manufacturing issue.

Well it's soon going to be time for me to hand the car back in to Toyota, I had originally planned to keep it three years but after two Toyota have offered me more money than cars for sale privately and mine has more miles etc on it!!! Sad to be leaving as its an amazing little car, have loved every minute of owning it, doing my first trackday and competing in the TSS of which I finished 3rd in class last year which I was proud of considering my lack of experience Unfortunately I can't say I'm moving on to bigger and better things as it will be being replaced by a 5door Aygo X-Cite to allow me to build up some savings before buying something truly stupid, or another 86 in a years time... Going to stay as a lurker on the forum to keep an eye on things coming up for sale, TSS info (the Aygo may make an appearance this year for a giggle) and random social meets if I'm allowed to attend this forum and group of people really are exceptional I think, never met a friendlier (and boozier) lot in my whole 7 years of driving Anyway, I'll leave this with a few of my favourite pics from the last two years... Love to all
-
Quite possibly, will give it 6months at least though I've had mine two years and a week today, it'll be going back on the 5th of April... Another GT4 is on the shortlist but so are a few things at the moment. I'm sorry to see me go too I'm sure it will be a bitter pill to swallow Lauren, decision was made based on financial reasons only really and I'm only driving to and from work in the 86 so it doesn't make sense to keep it...
-
I'd be up for a monthly one too
-
I've got 7.5" et35 (-13mm from standard) wheels with 225 tyres (V105) on mine and I love how it handles and looks, its spot on for me. You'd be more than welcome to try it if you'd like seen as you're close enough I'm not free until the 20th though...
