Prestige Keep Moving Insurance Scheme
Jamie_GRMN replied to Tim@Prestige's topic in Insurance Companies
I'd recommend just speaking to the guys on the phone Keith, I spoke to one of there lads for my policy (can't remember his name unfortuantely) and he was more than helpful... I talked him through my modifications and past incidents, including a speed awareness course which you don't have to declare and ended up coming out with the best quote I'd had over an evening (the flux bastards with there 'babes' hung up on me as soon as closing time hit)... -
I actually offered that as a suggestion on the first page of this thread...
-
Zmithy I would guess that either the top mounts or bottom mounts have been assembled the wrong way round... (Can't remember where you said you got them from but maybe they were stripped and greased by them before assembly, that's what I did with mine) As Keith said could either leave as is and have a bit of caster adjustment as well or switch them around yourself... should just be a case of unscrewing the bottom mounts right off the damper unit and swapping them.

I'm currently en route to France but will be able to take a pic on Friday if no one else has beat me too it... There may be some in my project thread come to think of it...
-
As smudge says... As a little helper there are R and L marks on the strutbraces where they join the bulkhead. I have mine the other way round to what you have them fitted. I would try changing the top mounts around...
-
Thanks for the idea, tried it and it still says invalid.
-
Hmmm thats odd, get it too a dealer to confirm with the proper system. I searched on the Toyota system using my VIN number and the DTC code you posted and it tells me it's an invalid code.
-
How did you find out that code? it doesn't exist on the system which will be why they can't find out what it means...
-
Just been and checked mine and you have them the wrong way round unfortunately... Ohh and I also kept the BC rear top mounts and don't get any of the knocking that other people have. Didn't have to use camber bolts either on the front (from your other thread) and I would always avoid using them unless really necessary.
-
I've had all of those lights on due to a quick alignment (was going back in two days) and its due to the steering angle sensor being out of sync... Shouldn't be an issue with a new car though which is odd. Get it to your dealer tomorrow/today and if they don't know I'll make the trip to have a look.
-
Please could you post images/videos of the issue and I'll have a look. I usually deal with issues to do with the ZR engine in avensis and auris but always try and help a GT86'r when I can and point them I. The right direction...

Another one for V105's, got mine through RRG Macclesfield for around £66 + VAT a piece, going back for more next weekend

Modifications, budgets and a lot of questions...
Jamie_GRMN replied to Paul's topic in Modifications
Welcome to the club, On the mods front I used roughly the same budget (including the fitting) minus the map, all the rest was pre bought... To manage this: Wheels are Compomotive MO5.s in 17 x 7.5 Suspension is BC BR coil overs lowered 40mm+ Plus whiteline bushes and roll centre adjusters etc Exhaust is a custom made single exit from the overpipe back (overpipe is cobra) Intake is a k&n filter plus Samco pipe with generator delete -
Mine was 514 from Fensport including the license...
-
Welcome to the club, I'll be at the TSS as well (look out for the hungover looking one with a cigerette).
-
Welcome to the club, where about in Ireland are you? Over there quite often at the moment but never in my 86

Yet more brilliant work Nige Love this thread

The centre armrest definitely wouldn't void any warranty if it was dealer fitted and I can't see it being an issue with insurance. Saying that the first lot that insured me (Admiral) asked whether I'd had the dealer fit upgrade seats... Warranty wise I have changed the suspension (BC coilovers) and exhaust (custom made single exit) plus a few other bits, not that it bothers me, I'd request an engineers opinion through TGB and they'd ring us (TMUK) to prove what was wrong...

Will yours be the first 335 in the country? Can't wait to see it/hear it

It's corrosion protection, these cars spend 6 weeks on a boat from Japan... would rather have it stinking for 200 miles than not have it
