Competition Time! - Toyota Sports Day 2015 - 20th June

Woodbridge the day after for me as well Mike, I'll just have to catch up on the drinking -
Regards warranty for any case it has to be proven that the modification that has been made has caused the issue and not a manufacturing fault before they can refuse it. If your dealership can't prove this they either can't refuse the claim or request an engineers opinion... If TGB are really stuck with diagnosing a problem they ask for our support (TMUK) and in a case for a GT86 I'll be your engineer

Have you been into the settings of the head unit and confirmed its set to allow access for music, Internet etc? My iPhone would play music fine when I first paired it, but had to go activate the others...

Here's mine Hmmm why I should be picked is a tricky one... The car is mildly modded to be my perfect daily that I can hammer around track on a weekend yet still comfortable for drive home. The car has been built on a reasonable budget showing that it doesn't take a fortune to build your perfect vehicle to get from A to B and everywhere in between. Plus it has a single exit exhaust, bright blue wheels, STi gurney flap repping the Subaru aspect and it would massively help break up my 5 hour drive to the hotel for the TSS the following day -
If you're looking on that site you want to be looking under Trust rather than GReddy for the kit...
-
Try japanparts.com They have the full kit stupidly cheap (circa 2.5k last time I looked but the yen has weakened...) I'm fairly sure you can get the wing separately from them
-
When I ordered the postage was stupidly cheap, less than a tenner definitely... Customs was £28 if I remember correctly, but can be hit and miss whether you actually get charged
-
Japan Parts is a dangerous place to go browsing I got my STi rear lip from there, will definitely be using them again in the future as well... You'll have to let me have a go once the final drive is fitted, its something I'm tempted by
-
I've got a light blue on mine (Porsche Riveria Blue) which you may have seen at Japfest... I'm not sure whether it would work with the ginger though Gulf was orange and blue so it could work

Brilliant photo's Will -
Just had a nosey at the wiring diagram and there is no seperate accelerometer listed for the VSC system... so unless there is one inbuilt into the VSC ECU (this is noted as one item not multiple components) then I don't believe there is a seperate one...

And by hard way I mean I had a base alignment done by the garage that did all my mods, I said that the steering wheel would be fine off centre as was back in a couple of days to pick my wheels up after machining and get a final alignment... The first roundabout I hit the traction kicked in a lot until giving up and turning everything off....
-
It doesn't work on a G meter... It works on a steering angle sensor on the column. I found out the hard way
-
Tarmac sports were doing a full set up of Stoptech discs, pads and stainless lines for 500, not sure if they still are though... I know OEM would be fine, but I'd be tempted by the upgrade all round as its unlikely to cost much more than OEM...

Anyone running BC Racing BR series coilovers?
Jamie_GRMN replied to STEVO9000's topic in Modifications
5/5kg on mine too, I am planning on changing the fronts to 6kg though at somepoint -
I have an idea as well after a search for the size... Probably way way off though

I'm guessing this is on your Forrester (I think?)... Standard or aftermarket boost control? Either or 0.3 bar is a lot to be just climate effected, I'd check all vac lines etc to be sure. Used to have this issue with the GT4's running MBC's/EBC's, set up in summer for 1.1 bar, got colder and the boost could increase to the point of fuel cut @ 1.2... with EBC's this was filtered out by reducing the gain on the control unit (as you are losing boost, if using an EBC increase the gain). All boost control has some sort of compensation in the system to stop it fluctuating during normal use, the temperature affects this compensation...

I paid 450 for mine second hand after 6 months of previous light use if thats any help? -
When was this? The TSB has only been out for two months...

Sorry for the resurrection of an old thread I'm sure there was a newer one but I can't find it anywhere (maybe tied in with someones project/mods thread ) Just thought I would close this issue off for people looking in the future: There is a TSB for the squeaking brakes (front only) issued on the 16/02/2015 that instructs the dealer to replace with new pads. The new pads will use a different friction material which has a lower coefficient of friction so if you can't stand the squeal you will lose some braking performance (you should be told this by the dealer before they replace them). There, apparently, will be no change to production so new cars will still have the original pads, so if you are replacing due to wear you should still also get the old pads. This fix is covered by warranty.

NIge's isn't going to be a stock bottom end...
-
What was the issue then?
-
I'm confused as to the need for a new thread, surely it's just going to continue where the old one left off? But who am I to complain as long as we keep getting more brilliant updates, keep up the good work

It's not nessecarily the diameter that is key with fitting a BBK which is what I'm guessing Lauren was hinting at... you can fit a massive diameter that just clears the inner rim but if you have a tiny offset (standard at +48mm is) then a BBK can foul the spokes of the wheel... I'm unsure of what the TRD wheel offset is but that would help if it differs from the 17's An example from my old days in the GT4 world... the standard wheel is +45mm, but due to the caliper/wheel spoke thickness relationship an aftermarket wheel has to be at least +35mm to fit over the standard calipers.

It does sound like the timing is out Nige... Any pictures of how you set the timing, the one on the daily driver build thread looks to have been turned after setting so can't even try and judge off that... the VVT's also look to have a fair few different grooves and markings on them, some for timing, others just for identification/differentiation between the exhaust/intake (if the advance angles differ between the two ), are you 100% the coloured links are lined up to the correct marks? If not I'd be checking again...
