About Me
Quasi-, sort of, wannbe gearhead. My brother is a mechanic and a total car freak. His first word was 'car car'. Well, I guess technically that's two words. Anyway, he taught me a lot about cars. I used to do tune-ups and oil changes on my old '72 Chevy Nova (I'm American) by myself. My brother sold me my first Toyota (cheap skate wouldn't give it to me) 27 years ago, told me never to drive anything other than Toyotas, and I have followed his advice ever since. I'm completely loyal to Toyota. They have never let me down. When I found out recently that Toyota makes the GT86, I was instantly hooked and 4 weeks later (8 August, 2019) went out and bought one. Yeehah!
When considering how to characterize myself, the first thing that pops into my head is 'girl racer'. Hmm, well, I don't race, and I'm certainly too old to be called a girl. 'Woman' sounds too old and stuffy. 'Female' is too clinical. 'Lady' is definitely too straight for me. 'Chick'. There you go. That's better. I'm a car chick. 😊
