Loving both your cars Faith -
Nice I used Silentcoat in mine nice stuff to with I thought.

toyokid - do you have the JBL upgrade currently? I sound deadened the door behind the speaker and then blocking up all the holes where possible, of course there are cables and stuff you have to let through but you can get to 95% sealed I think this made a big diffrence the midrange upfront

toyokid - they are the ones you've ordered are the ones I have too Focal K2 Power 165KR

My goal was to keep the standard head unit and standard speaker locations so from the outside it looks entirely standard. There are of course compromises here as in many cases standard fitment isn’t best to stage the sound and all that good stuff, as I’ve built this with the goal to be an improvement over OE, in fairness it starts from a low bar, anyhow early indications are that it’s met and far exceeded my goal!! For ease I ordered some pre-cut spacers http://www.subaruaudio.net/subaru-speaker-spacers/subaru-brz-and-scion-fr-s/ the tweeter spacer was cut to fit the focal tweeter. Front Speaker installed I put some deadening behind the speaker and on the door skin. Tweeter Installed In the boot from the fused feed under the bonnet to a fused distribution block and also an earth distribution block. I couldn’t really see how to do the cross-overs up front and keep it neat so installed them in the boot Covered this with another piece of MDF for the AMP and Processor to sit on. This bit I think could be better if I do a v2, the bolt is to stop it moving around. I then installed a Integrity Concepts Subwoofer Enclosure with a JL subwoofer that is custom to fit the car. http://www.integrityconcepts.net/scion-frs--subaru-brz--toyota-gt-86-products.html Need to get the run in done over the coming weeks and then tune the Processor to get it all setup and and possibly relocate the controller. First impression really pleased and even more pleased I did a DIY install after what must be a 15+ year gap since my last install and that it has kept the factory look as I wanted, bonus it sound nice to.

I've those speakers too and my thoughts are the same as Lauren's their excellent

Happy Birthday brilliant video, I love how the engine spluters and it's such gentle looking accident on the soft bales
-
Can I get mine at the detailing day
-
No worries let us know how you get on

I've never driven them from the standard head unit only with a seperate amplifier, as Lauren says they are excellent really pleased them a nice all round sound . I am not sure what RMS (power output) the standard head unit to give a view on how that could work out.

I have K2 165KR have a look at the tech spec here for sizes of the mid-range http://www.focal.com/en/index.php?controller=attachment&id_attachment=797 not sure on the tweeter size, you might need google for that

Mine has the odd rattle from the studs, part of the cars character I think I am more tollerant on this car as I don't use it every day. I used to be a real sticlker for rattles and stuff but age has mellowed me to a degree, though certain frequencies in tracks are rattling the roof so a bit a deadening mignt be needed

I was originally in but have to head to Italy all of next week and have stuff to do at home as I am away all week

Do any of you have a ramp/lift/pit?

Well done, glad it's been worth the effort, the stock speakers are truly woeful when you compare them to something better!!
