I also have Focal speakers really pleased with them, I think they are the same as Lauren's or I may have the lower model in the range, either way they sound great, I was a bit lazy and ordered these in for the baffle http://www.subaruaudio.net/subaru-speaker-spacers/subaru-brz-and-scion-fr-s/

Yes the connectors are a PITA to get off, I struggle with the windows and mirrors connectors, you've been unlucky with the weather been dry here (north west) all day.

Wonder if it's done yet......

PM received, and money transferred

well done

At least your giving it a go and when done it will be rewarding Had pain with my install along the way but so pleased I persevered and did it myself Will be worth it.

Almost cheaper for Keethos to buy this plunder the parts for the rebuild and sell on the rest

Just been out to have a look I see what you mean that is in a bad place not only that you don't want to dismount the grommet from the firewall like I did on the other side as there isn't an easy way to get to it, do you have an old coat hanger, put a little electrical tape on and poke it from the engine side next to the big cable and see if space is there if so one through attached the yellow cable to the end that was poked through and pull back, other option would be to cut the end off the protruding bit they is a lap of faith as no guarantee it's hollow oh and IANAM (I am not a mechanic) If it were me and it's just for power I'd buy more cable and run it from the other side where there is more access and it's easier to deal with.

Twigman I'd be using a small craft knife, carefully!! I've used a Philips screwdriver after an incision is made to make sure it was through and wide enough again slow, checking both sides, I did have mrsforge to help with the gromet so we didn't damage cables she was in the cabin as we broke through

Not a problem
-
It's quite big, I'd never thought of using a drilling more concerned what's behind just in case, though I guess if you are careful and a steady hand
-
are you planning something that involves running a cable, for some reason I thought you had done some tweaking on the audio front........ happy to share/help with the pain points if you are.
-
You could drill it (you'd need to be so careful) I think I used a small knife carefully and very very slowly, could make an expensive mistake there Not much space to work, it's one of the aspects that took a long time and fair to say caused most frustration
-
Is this the one behind the battery? Not sure about cutting the end off? I was able to make very careful additional small hole, in doing so managed to remove the grommet which is a big old thing and it was a proper pain to refit properly with much huffing and puffing. (assuming the same thing)

I've done this, I have a magnetic parts bowl and used that to drag the bit (which fortunately was magnetic) along the undertray and out to where I could reach it. Annoying done it a couple times but recovered items each time

Welcome.... Now go drive some more

Subscribed interested to see the install steps.

When I was last a Bedford a 911 lost it near the pit lane corner and went on the grass at which point it looked like it sped up rather than slowed until it hit the gravel trap, got beached and had to be dragged out, stark reminder that grass doesn't slow you down much!!

NWOC North Wales drive out (vid)

I nearly popped over there yesterday too but went to Leeds instead.......which had much less exciting roads -
Assuming the Subaru has the same speaker as the GT they are so light and horrid can't see how your better them and stay light weight. There will need to be a compromise somewhere. The rears you could remove and the tiny weight saved can go towards the weight of the new fronts the rears as said are a pointless I don't use the just front and sub.

Not of the deadening bit but there are on the first page of this thread of the install
-
Date permitting this could work have family near Salisbury so could coordinate with that, is 8/6 an option as there isn't anything fixed for that yet?
-
Added more sound deadening to front doors basically block the holes up, has improved the mid-range, really pleased with the install and the fact it's a DIY install.
