Hi Guys, I will be looking to get a new set of tyres soon and from what i've seen people usually recommend something like the Michelin PS4 tyres etc. I haven't found any threads anywhere talking about the PZEROs even though on paper they seem like a good choice. Has anyone got any experience with them? I wonder how they stack up against the PS4 for example. I'm mainly looking for good grip in both dry and wet. I'm looking to get it done at my local tyre place so i've got a choice of basically Michelin PS4, Pirelli PZERO, Yoko E70J RHD or a bunch of different bridgestone tyres. (I just somewhat prefer pirelli as a brand compared to Michelin 😁)

Hi, I've seen a couple similar threads to this one already posted but none had the exact same issue as me so I thought I'd ask Here's the problem: Occasionally when driving for a while, in most cases longer than 30 minutes, the rear offside wheel starts squeaking. Once it starts, it just keeps squeaking at all speeds/under acceleration etc. The sound disappears when braking or turning right. Sometimes pressing the brakes really hard does 'fix' it for a bit, but it usually comes back shortly. When stationary for a while it does seem to 'cool down' and go away until the next longer drive. Took it to a local garage to get the wheel off and have a look at the pads etc, they said that there's still a lot of life left in the pads and they just cleaned it up a bit but the issue persisted. There was nothing apparent to them that would be causing a squeak, but I wasn't driving long enough for it to actually appear before I got there... Has anyone had a similar issue to this? Any thoughts on what might be causing this? PS: It's a 2014 86, 64k miles

Thanks everyone, good to hear that its likely nothing too serious but a shame that it seems so common. Good point about the softer pads, might give those a go or change them in general I've also heard that doing some hard braking might help with the issue... time to do a few runs

Thoughts on Pirelli PZERO Nero Tyres?
Portalfl0w replied to Portalfl0w's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
Didn't know that site existed! Thanks for that, that looks like really good prices. Thanks for the comments guys, i'm getting a feeling that the PS4 or equivalent tyres will be the better 'road' tyre compared to pirelli. I don't really do any track driving at the moment, although would like to in the future. I'll shop around a bit more, not like i'm going to get to drive anywhere far anytime soon! -
Hi All! New to the forums. I've been looking at GT86s/BRZs for a few months now. I've got a test drive booked for an 86 that is the exact spec I wanted, although with a few quirks like a few chips on the alloys etc. Is there anything specific I should be looking out for? I looked over the MOT history and it's looking good, also doesn't seem to have any outstanding recalls (only checked online). I'm slightly worried about the tyres as they're not stock. I've asked the dealership and they confirmed that the tyres are: Front tyres are General Altimax Rear tyres are Mazzini Should I be worried? I'd post a link to the listing but not sure about the rules for that here Thanks guys! Happy to be joining the 'owner's club' soon. I'm hoping this is the one

Couple pics, weather's not great //as we know// - but loving it so far! Starting to plan out what I'm going to do to it over the next few years. Yep, can't really enjoy it fully right now. Can't wait for a bit of sunshine. -

Got the car! Mechanically it's pretty sound, has a few visual issues that can be sorted out. Very happy to finally own an 86, it drives like a dream! Thanks everyone for your advice! -

Thanks! I will definitely be swapping the tyres out, I'll be using mine as a daily car but also want to have some fun on good roads. So far Michelin PS4s are looking like the right kind of thing for me. Hoping to have many happy years and miles with the 86, hopefully attend a few meet ups too -

Thanks! That's definitely worth checking, the thread is also very useful. I might ping some of these questions to the dealership before I go as it's a 1 hour drive away for me. When you say expensive, how much would it cost if it hasn't had it done? Might be able to knock that off the price too. -

Not sure if that's good news or bad news for me I guess 86s aren't built with slow sunday driving in mind though, nice to learn a bit of history on the car lol -

Thanks guys, I think that's what I'll do, try and negotiate the price down to cover the cost of some good tyres. The car's currently on sale for 10,998 (60k Miles). There were some stone chips on the bumper so they are putting it through the body shop as well. I can hopefully get the price down to atleasst 10,500 to cover the tyres. Overall the car looks pretty well kept so yeah hopefully will be all good mechanically etc. Recalls wise, I haven't asked directly yet but according to https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/ there are no outstanding recalls on the car. Anything else I should ask about/look for? -

Had a quick search around, it looks like they are budget tyres, around 50 per tyre. Do you think this is a deal breaker? I guess it really depends on the condition of everything else on the car.
