Shell V Power every time for me. The long term effects on your engine are so worth it compared to 95ron and all for the sake of a few pence If you're ever stuck without Shell as an option stick the minimum amount of the highest RON on offer. I've only ever had to stick a tenner of Esso in as there wasn't a Shell for another 30miles. Got to Shell and filled up with V Power again

Custom 2.5" Exhaust system & Manifold
smudge replied to adamj29's topic in For Sale GT86 / BRZ Parts
The manifold is EL I assume? -
Is that the 2.5" or 3" AVO exhaust Adam?

Mine isn't so much a grinding noise as a typical clutch rattle... I'm sure Mike will be able to help you out
-
Are you talking about paint on the nuts themselves or the paint on the wheel? A bit of masking tape around the socket will help to minimise any scratches on the wheel, but depends on the size of the whole and the size of your socket (giggty) As for paint on the nuts themselves, not much you can do really. One of the reasons I got my anodised Muteki's was because they wouldn't get damaged by the socket as they're not painted
-
My bet is on clutch. My new Xtreme clutch makes a lot more noise than the OEM one did when coming off the throttle
-
Probably for the best mate. No point seeing it in "running in" mode anyway Might as well see it once she's fully up and running
-
After looking at Google Maps, I think I'm having to give this one a miss tomorrow sorry! Really don't fancy driving 100miles which involves going THROUGH Central London on a Saturday morning...
-
I've decided I've got to go and see my exhaust fabricators tomorrow. I just have to get this exhaust situation sorted as it's delaying the car being finished properly now Depending on what time I finish in Ashford I may pop up to Amber, but timing and location isn't ideal as I'd need to get from Ashford in Kent to Dunstable without using the motorway...no easy task! Will keep you updated tomorrow morning
-
Dunstable to Ashford in Kent without using the motorway...no thanks lol it's 1 or the other
-
I do quite like the wing... Spoke to my fabricators today. Need to pay them a visit. Do I ditch the Amber meet to go get a quote on Saturday? Hmmm
-
Anything over 7k is nearly pointless. No real power gain to be had from tests on the American forums
-
Looks nice Kev, who did that for you? Full turbo back?
-
I would have happily stuck with my Invidia Q300 system but unfortunately it's not usable anymore. So I figured I may as well go for the upgrade while I can rather than buying another 2.5 and having to upgrade again in the future
-
It's looking that way Kev, which isn't a bad thing at all
-
We're probably looking at around 320/330 at the wheels Mike. When you say ditch the HFC and use the rest? Rest of what? I'm in a position where my 2.5" needs replacing anyway due to being damaged so it's the right time to look at 3" rather than going 2.5" and having to upgrade anyway potentially

You're thinking of Powerflow. Which aren't actually all that bad... But the guys at Fast Road Conversions do custom bespoke work as well as off the shelf Powerspeed stuff. They've built roll cages, pedal boxes and other weird and wonderful automotive bits for friends before I went there to get a couple of mid pipes made up for my 350z and GT86
-
Yep this is also something I've considered. I've got a place down in Ashford that have done a couple of bits for me in the past. Going to give them a ring later
-
I aim to be there mid morning. With the car not having it's full exhaust or full map, no point me busting my balls to get there early doors And I have to take the back roads
-
My only issue with any of the OZ stuff is you can't get them in 9.5J which is what I wanted WedsSports were perfect for me, 18x9.5 and only 8kg
-
Good thing I got my WedsSports for less then
-
No issue with running them on track, the road is typically nice and smooth! It's those huge potholes that reshape your spine as you go over them I'm worried about. I'd expect them to crack fairly easily but I'm hoping they don't of course!

296miles done, 204 to go... Attended the Car Throttle meet in Feltham at the weekend. Was a chance to get my car noticed by one of the internet's biggest YouTube and social media pages for cars. I met Alex from CT himself and had a good chat about my car. He was very impressed at how unique it was and how much attention had gone into it Few pictures from the meet, I expect there to be a few more as there were lots of cameras floating around On a more negative note, the car won't be ready for the Amber meet this weekend. I'll still be there but my exhaust won't have arrived by then which means there's no point doing any mapping this week

Only thing that worries me about the Fox's is the quality Something that light for such a small price clearly isn't forged. I'd be very careful on a pot-holed road, which let's be honest, is most of them!
-
Interesting how they won't cover Castle Combe. But then again it does have the most accidents than any other UK track for novice drivers... You will be very hard pressed to find anyone that will cover sprints as it's a timed event. As soon as timing gets added into the mix, no one wants to know as it becomes a competitive sport which means you push harder and are more likely to crash...apparently
