I feel that this thread about you picking up your GT86 has become somewhat diluted
-
You're talking about all the custom stuff I got my TT-01 with motor, battery, ESC and everything needed for £250
-
All the chassis are the expensive bits. The shells are relatively cheap unless you start trying to obtain the rare ones The GT86 shell is only like £20
-
Ouch! I went for more stopping power and the aesthetics side too, as you can probably tell with the colour I went for on the calipers! Cost-wise, mine was considerably less than buying a new BBK front and rear even after the rebuild and colour change
-
I have to buy some tyres while I'm there? Or can I use my hard plastic ones that I already have on the car?
-
With mine getting the Sprintex 335 kit and a built engine in the next few weeks, bigger brakes were definitely the way to go 150mph isn't too hard to achieve with the 210 kit that I have now, so I have no idea what the 335 is going to be like!
-
Yeah sorry I was on about the rears, assumed that's what he was asking about?
-
Ahhhh awesome! OK to bring my mini RC GT86 along for a play?
-
Not that I'm aware of. The 08+ STi calipers are black with different mounting holes compared to the gold Brembo's from 02-07
-
Organising a meet?
-
Ah yes, I'm part of the RATRAP RC group on Facebook. Only just got a TT-01 with a GT86 shell (of course!)
-
RC as in remote control cars?
-
I knew that this setup would move it all forward a fair bit, but until I've tried it all out on the track then I can't really comment I've got the DS2500's on the rear and AP pads on the front, so that will certainly help to shift it back a little more. But as you said, no setup is optimal given the amount of choice we have over suspension, roll bars, tyres etc Until I've tried it out for myself, I'll hold judgement. It's a bit of an experiment if I'm honest!
-
I can almost guarantee that this setup will stop me quicker than the OEM brakes would...but thanks for your concern
-
If I'm honest, I can't remember what was rebuild and what was refurb costs. Best to get in contact with the Brake Caliper Specialists or another similar firm who can quote you best For my front setup, yes. For the standard STi Brembo setup, no you can fit 17's

Great bunch of guys, very helpful and have put up with endless emails from me over the past 4 months or so
-
Right, Monday should be the day! We know what went wrong last time and we're determined to get it done 3rd time lucky Just need to source some 3/5mm spacers for the front wheels or perhaps some different front wheels as the temporary ones don't go over the huge front calipers, my Rays are still at the bodyshop and my new wheels aren't going to arrive in time!

Supercharger whine over gearbox whine any day
-
Correct me if I'm wrong Keith, but I don't believe you have a female partner whining at you every single day like most of us do...
-
Offset is 47, the 1st number on that lline So it's OF(47)/HB(60.0)
-
You're not supposed to use your feet to jack the car up....
-
Yeah I got the red one Does me fine and not exactly heavy
-
Main reason I got my one was because of the low entry. My old Halfords jack doesn't stand a chance with how low the 86 is
-
Got mine from Costco too, but was only £80 or something like that Need to get a 2nd one
-
That sticker looks very familiar.... I would also say yes
