Yeah just wheels in general are a lot of money I mean😂 i blame my dad he is so frugal unless the money is being invested into appreciating assets that it’s worn off on me a bit. Give me a month or two maybe il be able to convince myself it’s worth it😂

The guy I sold my tail lights too had stock header and TD resonated. I heard it for about 5 minutes and it sounded nice and bassey. I feel it would be nicer with a UEL header for the unique sound profile but yeah by itself it was nice. Definitely louder than stock for sure lol and defo more bass sound to it. Since he still had 2 cats it didn’t sound raspy I doubt it drones on motorways either. The problem could occur if you ever get a catless header then I feel the system would be far too loud for me personally. But then I don’t like loud cars or pop and bang cars. if you want to get the header in the future then I would consider super res, if you know u won’t then resonated will be great. That’s about all I can say to try help as my experience with it was brief

Hey Just curious but does anyone here have a turbo or supercharged BRZ/86 that passes emissions legitimately or is it a given that you won’t pass legitimately. I guessed with a supercharger you can keep the cats. Lesser so with a turbo due to they need a more free flow exhaust but i don’t know for sure. Also will stock 7inch wide tyres + MP4 tyres be adequate grip or not really. Any help is appreciated thanks:) -

Oh wow that’s impressive that’s more than what I would want to be fair😂 the car is so light small number gains are much bigger deal than most people expect driving like BMWs weighing 1500kg I have also noticed it means passengers effect the cars speed more noticeably though😂 makes me super exited to see your car man if that’s a dyno for your kit -

Damn it says you live in Devon, that’s one hell of a distance to travel haha. Yeah as I have the TD NA kit this was my obvious choice, also mike is such a nice guy I trust his work. I like the idea of low down torque from a super charger and that I can keep my cat without it being a limitation so much but idk. So many things to think about -
Hey, I’m either buying new wheels or getting the oem ones refurbished and sprayed gloss black. The stock wheel nuts+locking wheel nut are silver. does anyone recommend a not fancy, just low profile locking wheel nut and just normal nuts also? That is black im looking online and they all look like they stick out of the wheel like spikes or something. thanks for your help:)

Yeah that’s what I thought too from my research! but everyone’s experience is different so if he experienced problems at sub 300hp then it definitely would put me off a bit -

Hey thanks! So you believe supercharger would help with the emissions test but also believe that I will need to upgrade my transmission? I was going to get a new clutch and flywheel or just clutch with the Kit anyway but I was hoping at 250-280HP that would be enough for my car to still be reliable? -

Thankyou! I have a catless manifold NA tune from TUning developments and I’m at the stage of just researching/deciding if I want to go turbo or supercharged, I would prefer be able to pass mot legitimately which is why I ask. That first then 2nd is reliability 3rd is cost. -

If you want an exhaust, consider in the future if you want to do a NA tune package which many 86owners do for the torque dip. By doing that many people go for a catless header which will effect your exhaust systems loudness. if you don’t want it to be super loud then a good idea could be the TD super resonated cat back exhaust, super res is quieter than resonated. In the future you then have the flexibility to get the NA tune package if you want + without being super loud after removing the manifold CAT. Would also give you a discount on a turbo kit if that interests you but. TD can ship it to you also to be fitted by a local dealership since they’re 6 hours away. I can vouch their quality of service and have in person heard a resonated cat back exhaust on a stock gt86. Not a resonated cat back + NA tune though. It was definitely louder, too loud for me after the NA tune I imagined. Hence I recommend the super res. video below shows it I personally just have the NA tune FYI. I wanted the performance mainly and budget stopped me getting both
