Hi Nigel We use these Injectors in our GT4 GT86 British GT car and have had zero problems with them so far... How's the build going...?? Nigel IMG]http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/02/04/9e28a1b098d97d7eeb88988fc7e85c2b.jpg

Diff option is grade dependent All pre facelift GT86 in the UK are High Grade which are fitted with Torsen as standard.. This will change with post facelift when Entry Grade goes on sale...

Would you like me to arrange some alternative pads for you ?? If so PM me your Reg (or Vin) , your non Forum name and your local centre and I'll sort it tomorrow for you...

Vehicle homologated before compliance became mandatory so therefore the legislation doesn't apply [emoji6]

Without wishing to labour a point, you can have some alternative pads fitted at Toyota GB's expense if you discuss this with CR should you wish, TGB has recognised the fact that not everyone is willing to accept the noise........most importantly this does not mean that TGB is admitting there is a fault with the pads, this is about putting the customer 1st by going that little bit further !!!!!!!! However this is not, and will not be covered under Warranty because the pads have not failed in their intended task.... The pads specified by the Brake Engineers are not fitted because they increase performance, they are fitted to maintain brake effort under extreme conditions, this has been done ONLY with your safety in mind and to be honest I'm happy to say that they have not compromised on that approach...

I am more than happy to discuss the issue with CR on your behalf if the need to change pads arises so keep me informed, I can say that Toyota GB are not in the habit of leaving customers in an unhappy position so keep me informed and I will be happy to support..
-
If the noise remains gone then then that is great news, if it returns then we can offer an alternative pad which you should then discuss with CR regarding financial support for this...
-
Sorry my friend but my answer remains as my previous post.... I cannot give you anything other than the facts as they stand.. the squeal noise does not constitute a technical failure

Toyota have categorically not bought out any new parts for this, the parts have been sourced from 86 sold by Toyota USA to help UK customers.....there is 100% no technical issue with the standard pads as fitted to European 86 and I need to be very clear on that... The standard pads use a high spec compound to cope with the possibility of the vehicle being used on track days without loss of performance..the downside is that they can generate a higher level of noise when cold and/or at lower speeds, the alternative pads offered are a slightly softer grade material from US Market 86, however we ask our Centres to discuss this with customers before installing so that they understand that there MAY be a slight loss of performance under EXTREME (track day) use.. Warranty will only ever, ever cover failed components, the Brake Pads on GT86 operate exactly as they are intended and designed to do...
-
Not covered by Warranty as it's not considered to be a mechanical failure, however I would strongly suggest contacting TGB Customer Relations to discuss possible assistance.....please don't shout at the boys and girls there though as they will be just as willing to help if you ask nicely...!!

Lee, interested why you think Toyota are wrong with the 60K Gearbox Oil replacement ??
-
Just to clarify something on Pitman's excellent post, updated Port injectors are available in the aftermarket but not the Direct Injectors...
-
UK map will not work on US system....it's on a completely different format and operating system...
-
No reported failures in the UK at the moment Nigel....all UK vehicles still within the Warranty period so we would have seen if there were any failures..
-
Apologies for the delayed reply..... As long as the Centre orders the relevant parts then is a same day fix... [emoji4]

Evening All There is a solution to this....could I please ask that you contact your local Toyota Centre and ask them to contact myself (Nigel) at the Toyota GB Technical Department... I cannot give any further details over the forum at this point but as I said above, we can offer a solution which is proven to work.. Nige

No worries.... I'll talk to GPRM tomorrow, it's unlikely TMG will have spares as all the CS-V3 cars retain the standard panels.. Keep the faith.. ;-)
