Since day 1 my gearbox has not been acceptable in its operation. 1st to 2nd has always been crunchy, 2nd to 3rd intermittently crunchy and general gear selection poor. It would often clunk all the way to the back axle when engaging first which is a sure sign the clutch is not fully breaking and is dragging. The car went back to Toyota twice for "adjustment" with no improvement. I fitted Redline MTL oil and had Abbey fit MTEC shift springs. A little improvement but not significant. I read on the FRS forum about altering the bite point lower and tried this. Whilst it improved driveability it actually made the problem worse and the placebo effect soon wore off. I have been convinced from day 1 that the issue owners experience is clutch drag. Have experienced this so many times on bikes with cable operated clutches if the cable is not kept well lubricated and adjusted. Yesterday at The Trundle I sat in Subota Boys car and felt his clutch - ooer ! Totally different to mine. After he sat in my car we both agreed that my clutch felt like it had air in it. I was all prepared to do some bleeding this weekend when today I strayed across an excellent website. Read it through a couple of times and it all made sense. Watched the video a couple of times and the guy actually has a clutch assembly on the bench to show you what to do (same as moving bite point). I set my clutch this afternoon EXACTLY how he says and double checked it. The actuator is on top of the clutch housing so you don`t need the buddy he mentions to check actuator operation. I have just been out for a spin and can`t believe the difference. Bite point is probably now higher than from when I got it but gearchanges very very good. You can just feel the massive improvement. No baulking, no crunching and much much smoother. The pedal is more solid and feels exactly how it should, not like it has air in it. I highly recommend anyone with the crunchy nut gearbox to try this. It is just a 10 minute job. Read the website and watch the video a couple of times. The setting is quite critical it would appear. Perhaps this car is quite sensitive to the set up and a general assembly at the factory is not sufficient ? I`ll keep you posted but so far very very impressed. Toyota could do with taking note of this site: http://www.jackstransmissions.com/pages/clutch-drag-kills-synchros and the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=vYJxQyjIhUw

Have been considering lowering my car for some time. Problem is I have Seibon front lip so don`t want to go too low. A certain person who shall remain nameless but resides in Oxted has dangled a carrot in the form of a set of Hipermax MAX4GT coil overs. From what I have read the drop as supplied is about 1" - but is adjustable. Has anyone got these fitted ? How does the drive compare to OEM for both handling and damping ? I don`t want to lose my fillings as the result of a harsh ride and may also need to raise the seat so I can get out (old b***r ). Cheers.

Mine are currently for sale....but you have to take the rest of the car as well. See for sale section.

About 8 miles from where I Iive, they have some VERY nice cars for sale. This one is up for £33k but their finance packages are not very competitive.

Shame kit 2 does not lose the analogue speedo which is a waste of dash space. Could be tempted on kit 2 but would like to see detailed installation instructions. -
My Sprintex is noticeably more powerful on a cold slightly damp evening. The cooler air is denser. We notice this as well at the gliding club. On a hot day the tug plane struggles to get out of the field and over the trees with a glider on tow ! - which is fun.

Not a problem, thank you for clarification, apology gratefully received and I fully understand your position.

So why have you not deleted all the Irish jokes on here Lauren posted not just by me ? Please explain.

Did you hear about the Irish Kamikaze pilot ? just returned from his 13th successful mission Or the Irish test pilot who crashed flying the new Apache Attack helicopter ? All was going well until at 4,000ft he felt it was a bit chilly so turned the fan off Or the Jewish Kamikaze pilot who crashed his plane in his brothers scrapyard ? Mummy, mummy why is Daddy running ? shut up and keep shooting.... Mummy, mummy what`s for dinner ? shut up and get back in the oven.... Mummy, mummy I hate my sisters guts, that`s OK dear, leave them at the side of the plate

REmoved by Admin as we will not tolerate racism on the forum. My mate Dave's always been the kind of bloke that gets stressed over everything, but lately he doesn't seem like he's got a care in the world. "Why are you so laid back all of a sudden?" I asked him. "I've hired a professional to worry about all my problems for me," he replied. "Only costs me a grand a week." "A grand a week? How the hell are you going to afford that?" I asked. "Profanity removed by ADMIN. That's his problem."

The Irish have sent a rocket to the sun. Dublin scientists have calculated it will be quite hot so they`ve set off at night. Africa has diamonds, Ireland has potatos........well Ireland had first choice

Here are mine on Rota Boost 17" x 7.5" ET48 and HKS Hipermax 1vGT Suspension (-17mm front and -16mm rear). 15mm spacers front and 20mm rear. Don`t worry about the dirt, I don`t do cleaning, it`s a ******g car ! and meant for driving.
-
Yes, correct.
-
The 10mm ones need the OEM studs removing and replacement ones (supplied) fitting. Subota Boy has done this so may have tips for you. I am a lazy b&stard and went for 15mm. The 15mm & 20mm are plug and play and all parts required are supplied being hub spacer and nuts.

One further week in and I can report I am 100% happy with my gearbox and gear selection. In 10 days I have only had 1 unacceptable crunch and that was 1st to 2nd when I hadn`t allowed it to wake up. Well happy !

Will possibly be there but in Tiguan with wife and Hound (see avatar, that`s the hound not the wife........)

Should get the 200 back together very soon. I`ll pop round that miserable old gits house and smoke him out with the NS400. Buzzard your Z looks well tasty ! I had a Z1000J a few years back that tried to kill me on the M27 ! It`s a long story but basically throttle jammed at ahem ahem cough cough 70mph officer. Scariest moment ever !
