With the engine recall on my 86 due in a few weeks. Booked in local Bristol Dealer I have bought the car from I have searching for what to replace them with. Seem OEM equivalent being suggested. I don't want anything fancy or expensive just wondering what others have bought? Are the OEM platinum tip? Just my BIL who is a very talented mechanic and looked after my 86 from new (being Ex Toyota Mechanic) Any helpful suggestions more than welcome

Recall issued on cars to have valve springs replaced 2012-2013
remal replied to Lauren's topic in Mechanical
I have my 14 plate 86 booked for mid July at the same place so good to hear all is good after your recall. I explained to them i'm running Evans waterless coolant in my engine for the past 4 years and would like it replaced as it's costly to have to buy again. They said no issues. As our 86 is used daily but not many miles so only clocked up 14.5k it's just going to have the plugs replaced. Why i'm back on this form to see what is good to buy for them to fit -

welcome to the forum. Why so long to introduce yourself?

it's like a antisocial psychotic homicidal maniac on a meth binge over 8k. just mental and like nothing I have ever experienced. The acceleration is out of this world

I've had mate with and without revers. and difficult. Sound like amilf float or have to put the car forward by hand.

good service from my dealer. Having had issues with our rear senors for a while. working, then not, then screaming with nothing behind. The tone of the noise very different from standard i booked it in to my local dealer and within 2 hours they found the ECU was not working as it should and booked in on Monday to get replaced under warranty. Quick and good service what is a surprise after you bought a car. I have found most dealers are happy to sell the car but when it comes to after service not so good so a good surprise. I'm away 2 weeks time touring europe with mates so glad it's had a check over (done without my knowledge beforehand) and I have this minor issue sorted

I have fitted for the second year my works wheels with the standard tyres. But I still feel the car sits a little high. I don't want to smash it to the ground just make the area between the top of the tyre and arch not as large without damaging the handling or ride to much. So I was thinking of possibly lowering her 10-15mm Any suggestions if this is a good idea. if it will damage the handling ? And last question what springs people would recommend and where to buy from

i'm a petrol head through and through but the acceleration of a Sport Bike let alone the H2 is just out of this world. I know the you can't use this on the road but a quick squirt and WOW

I got a good deal from bris in 14 for our 86. Only reason I would not use them or recommend them myself is that I did my homework on PCP which I took as they would pay 1k towards the car. I said I was new to PCP which I was but they did not know I did my home work and so lied 3 times to my face and when I told them such the finance guy quickly changed his words. I informed the manager and toyota about this and won't use them myself
