Sorry another wheel question. I have searched but nothing came up with the question I am about to ask. We have a orange 86. Looking at the wheels at Japfest both me and the wife liked the bright colour wheels a few of you had. We don't really want to go with the normal colours such as Silver, Gunmetal gray or Black. I've been looking at what colours will go with a orange 86 but there is not much out their to give us an idea of what may be nice. We both liked the Blue and Red/Orange a few of you had on the White cars but unsure if this would go on our colour car. So just looking for ideas, links if anyone knows of any. My wife suggested White ( yes going to be a bitch to keep clean) cheers for reading

With the engine recall on my 86 due in a few weeks. Booked in local Bristol Dealer I have bought the car from I have searching for what to replace them with. Seem OEM equivalent being suggested. I don't want anything fancy or expensive just wondering what others have bought? Are the OEM platinum tip? Just my BIL who is a very talented mechanic and looked after my 86 from new (being Ex Toyota Mechanic) Any helpful suggestions more than welcome

Recall issued on cars to have valve springs replaced 2012-2013
remal replied to Lauren's topic in Mechanical
I have my 14 plate 86 booked for mid July at the same place so good to hear all is good after your recall. I explained to them i'm running Evans waterless coolant in my engine for the past 4 years and would like it replaced as it's costly to have to buy again. They said no issues. As our 86 is used daily but not many miles so only clocked up 14.5k it's just going to have the plugs replaced. Why i'm back on this form to see what is good to buy for them to fit -
welcome and as said best colour. Had mine for 5 years now and taking her to Le mans this year
-
I go every other year but take the kit car. been since 2006 and an amazing event. Only missing next year as i'm doing the TT but will be back for 2019 .

good service from my dealer. Having had issues with our rear senors for a while. working, then not, then screaming with nothing behind. The tone of the noise very different from standard i booked it in to my local dealer and within 2 hours they found the ECU was not working as it should and booked in on Monday to get replaced under warranty. Quick and good service what is a surprise after you bought a car. I have found most dealers are happy to sell the car but when it comes to after service not so good so a good surprise. I'm away 2 weeks time touring europe with mates so glad it's had a check over (done without my knowledge beforehand) and I have this minor issue sorted

welcome great choice of colour and I spend a lot of my time enjoying the roads of wales from Bristol. mainly mids wales but have been a few times as far as aberystwyth and North wales in our 86 and my bike

welcome to the forum. Why so long to introduce yourself?

it's like a antisocial psychotic homicidal maniac on a meth binge over 8k. just mental and like nothing I have ever experienced. The acceleration is out of this world

And not bad for a 1ltr Supercharged bike!!!! Had my bike dyno'ed 2 weeks ago. was stock but have added power commander 5, DNA air filter and flash of the ECU to remove lots of restrictions from my Kawasaki H2. Which included reduced fueling from 8k-14k to reduce the top end power. Limit power in first 4 gears and removed the top speed limiter of 186. WOW what a difference. rolling 60MPH in 4th and just roll on the power and all it wants to do is wheelie. I asked Tim the Dyno guy I don't want mega power just smooth running and better low speed throttle response. The huge gain from the standard 195-205BHP jump was mostly down to the power being reduced via the ECU. shows how strong the engine is.

I've had mate with and without revers. and difficult. Sound like amilf float or have to put the car forward by hand.

I have fitted for the second year my works wheels with the standard tyres. But I still feel the car sits a little high. I don't want to smash it to the ground just make the area between the top of the tyre and arch not as large without damaging the handling or ride to much. So I was thinking of possibly lowering her 10-15mm Any suggestions if this is a good idea. if it will damage the handling ? And last question what springs people would recommend and where to buy from
-
i'm a petrol head through and through but the acceleration of a Sport Bike let alone the H2 is just out of this world. I know the you can't use this on the road but a quick squirt and WOW

I got a good deal from bris in 14 for our 86. Only reason I would not use them or recommend them myself is that I did my homework on PCP which I took as they would pay 1k towards the car. I said I was new to PCP which I was but they did not know I did my home work and so lied 3 times to my face and when I told them such the finance guy quickly changed his words. I informed the manager and toyota about this and won't use them myself

241BHP is fun in the right car. even a lightweight 7. But having that power in a 240KG bike with fluids is just a riot
-
Lack of Torque puts me off wanting to put a bike engine into my 7. I know people who have bike engine kitcars and are amazing on track but thats it. not fun on the motorways or doing anything more than 100 miles in a day. Most I know with bike engines sell them after only a year or so.

I've been running 32PSi for 2 years now and feel better. no issues with tyre wear but then again I dont do the miles. Only 8 k on mine from new. But going to add 2k to that in a week with another euro trip in June
-
Better late than never and welcome Lee. Another local with a 86 Just out of interest why go to Swindon when you have Toyoto in Bris?
-
as posted it's not difficult driving. Take the gear you need. Triangle, spare bulbs etc.. I did this in 2015 (France, Switzerland, German, belgium France in the 86 and will be doing this again in June. this time the Motorail from Dusseldorf to verona . So will be doing, Italy, Switzerland, croatia, Austria, German etc... Don't go over 50KPH over the limit may be a 750euro fine and impounded car. I know people who have had this happen to them when caught. if you go to Spain the roads are great for enjoying and I was on my Blade in 2011 and did not go below 110 for around 40 miles. nothing to worry about on the quiet open motorways. As for light deflectors I never bothered and was never a issue. ferry the guys putting the cars on can see where you can park. I've taken my kit car over many times and has a Ground clearance of 2" so much lower than the 86 and never been a issue on the ferry. BEST TIP!!! if your going with a mate and they get pulled don't pull over with them. A good mate got pulled for speeding (90 euro fine) as my other mate was with him and pulled over they fined him. Said they would have not bothered as only 1 police car around but as he pulled in they did them both. So if a mate gets pulled keep going until the next junction and wait for them their

Hoping that's the correct name of them I do like the looks of this and was wondering if anyone knows of a place that does them painted in Orange for the 86 [/img]
