Some very good points here, I run 9.5 rims and there is a big difference between makes of tyre. My track tyres NS2R's in 235/40/18 have 10mm more contact patch than the same size Conti 5's, ride softness and handling characteristics will all play a part in what set up you have. Very much personal preference and as Lauren said it makes each car feel different, guess it comes down to your own style of driving and what you want from the car.

As Lauren says it's all about what you enjoy most, getting the fastest lap is only one aspect of fun. I really like FWD on the limit when balancing lift off oversteer with throttle understeer, and todays tyres let you play much more I remember pushing a 3ltr JPS Capri round Brands and how quickly I ran out of talent so the 86 is of that breed but with so much more capability, looking forward to a fun year and the usual exchange of experiences with other club folks

Keethos here is an example of how I like grip, note the four rubber lines from my wheels but the car still pointing where I want it. Was on low boost at 600bhp. If only the 86 was that quick.

9.5's all round, when you try very hard the tail will drift but I prefer it all planted and maximum grip. The limit just moves further out of reach and understeer very minimal, just personal preference really. Carbon bits Debs likes so I fit them as they arrive.

Just been out and done some noise testing, the static test was 88db done at 45 degrees / 1 mtr from tail pipe. Drive by was full throttle in 3rd gear 6-7 k approx 2mtrs from the roadside, and resulted in 96db. I am sure this is not the same as circuit testing but gives me an idea with my set up. Good call, I use a Bell open face car helmet and my full face comp helmet is a Simpson both fit differently.
