Team Dynamics Wheels / Advan AD08R Tyres
Stan Hawrylak replied to Stan Hawrylak's topic in For Sale GT86 / BRZ Parts
These are sold. Thanks Haversack -
I got mine from there. They're really helpful. Plus there's plenty of motorsport porno around, race cars, gokarts, piccies on the wall of famous patrons, a nice place to buy your gear.

Ford dealer joy rides an ST!
Stan Hawrylak replied to Captain Duff's topic in Non GT86/BRZ General Chat
Years ago I witnessed a terrible accident involving 2 Ford mechanics racing Escort RS Turbos. Sadly they knocked down and killed a little old lady that had wandered into the road. Don't know whether they got off but this was in the day when such incidents were treated as 'careless driving'. -
Sounds lovely. Hope mine sounds this good. Bit worried about noise if I'm honest. Sound tests in order before first TSS... Interested to see what DBS you get.

Not sure about the man maths, but the reduce rotating mass route has worked for me. If you're going to reduce rotating mass, you're best off reducing it everywhere you can so you can feel the cumulative effect, rather than just doing pulleys etc which you 're probably not going to notice much. On my car I've got the pulley kit, flywheel, carbon prop and lighter wheels (although oem wheels already light). They're probably all worth a few wheel hp each. The prop is reckoned to be about 5 whp, not a lot but as I say combined with the others, makes a difference. More throttle response, better pickup. If you shorten the final drive as well, then you've got so much more push out of the turns. The standard ratios are too wide for an NA. I remember a Toyota engineer saying the ratios had been tuned for 'environmental performance'!! Doing TSS last year, some of the speeds I was pulling on the straights weren't far behind the forced induction crowd. There's more you can do of course, filter, intake, header, exhaust, power blocks. It's possible to make an NA go quickly but to do it properly might cost you as much as forced induction! Haversack

Of course that figure is an amalgam of the system as a whole but it was measured before and after the header was changed, and a good improvement was recorded. I don't know how good that figure is, you'd have to ask Adrian. But I do know he and the owner were pleased with the results. Haversack

Team Dynamics Wheels / Advan AD08R Tyres

Thanks Deacon, yes they are priced to sell, then some :-) -
Interested to hear how you get on with the Tomei header (sorry Lauren - Manifold). It was a toss up for me, Tomei or HKS. I went HKS because Adrian had mapped one already and seen good air. About 170g/sec. They seemed impressed so it would have been a punt go for another type. The Tomei might be better, time will tell... As for UEL versus EL, I went for EL - slightly stronger top end, torque less important. The car is used primarily for competition plus I have shorter final drive so the priority is top end grunt :-) Shame about the turbo plans. It does mount up when you add in all the bits n pieces :-) My wife does salary sacrifice to pay for her season ticket, something to think about.... ;-)

Thanks Kevin. Need to get me one of those or just have Adrian sound check it if he can. Don't want any nasty surprises later. Will see how it turns out, can't be sure but we might be struggling for Croft...
-
Good article. Expecting a noisy motor this year then HKS catless manifold and unresonated Milltek cat back system. The only saving grace in noise suppression terms is a Berk catted front pipe. Sound check at TSS round 1 will be interesting... Will see if I can sound check it before

I've been looking around at Trackers and such like. There's that many times in the year the car will be parked in unsecured hotel car parks (Premier Inn let's face it). Agreed some form of vehicle tracking is a must. Especially as my car might attract more attention this year than it has previously.... ;-) Will check out Cobra... no false alarms or problems Keith? Apart from occasional bouts of amnesia :-) Haversack

Quick update: OE wheels and strut brace are sold. Team Dynamics wheels/Advan Neova AD08R tyres still available :-) Haversack
-
Hi Captain They are a very nice looking wheel. I've got 9in Rota Grids on now, fitting a much wider tyre Let me know if you need any more info or pics etc
-
I've had Crawford power blocks fitted so the 3 point strut brace no longer fits. I've had to go to a different 2 point brace instead
-
Hi Matt They are 5x100 Not sure on the offset but here are some pics for you to judge:

Adrian, quick question. What's the highest bhp you can go to on a stage 4 without upgrading the internals? Assuming that exhaust / intake kit etc upgraded. Would upgrading the internals at those horsepower levels be beneficial anyway for the sake of longevity? Thanks.

That's with the remap. Err I have a few other mods.. Samco intake, Blitz panel filter, Milltek catback system, M Factory 4.67 final drive, and carbon prop. Altogether they make a good package of improvements but no one element is the magic bullet. Next step is a new manifold and hopefully an electric water pump. Will need to be remapped again for these Adrian tells me. Haversack
